Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

Atlantic City, USA

The hotel

This is most definitely a large resort with a lot on offer if you’re in the mood for partying! There’s around-the-clock gaming excitement in the world-class casino, with over 150,000 square feet of action-packed tables, craps, roulette, blackjack and the hottest slot machines in town. The most noteworthy draw is The Pool, enclosed within a 90-foot high glass dome, this is an exclusive indoor tropical oasis by day and the city’s chicest party spot by night, home to the hottest club scene in Atlantic City – even Michael Phelps came here to enjoy himself after the Olympics! If you need to smooth out all the dark circles and hide the evidence of the night before, the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa will be your sanctuary. Choose from a diverse menu of treatments and you can even feel like royalty with pedicure thrones and a couple’s suite with lounge area, fireplace and spa tub. For those who like to re-energise in a more active way, there's the brand new 24-hour fitness centre with top of the range Technogym equipment. If you enjoy slightly quieter pastimes you can enrol in classes at the on-site Viking Cooking School, where instructors and celebrity chefs teach classes for all abilities. Classes include Italian specialities, learning how to create perfect sushi and the very tempting sounding Cookie Workshop.

I went to Harrah's for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. I reserved a room in the Bayview Tower. I got to the desk around 1pm. I walked up to a woman named Natalie. She just looked at me and said nothing. I said Hello It's my birthday and I have a room for 2 nts and here is my id. She said nothing! I said again in case she was deaf, It's my birthday and I hope you have the nice room in the bayview I reserved. She finally spoke and said rooms arent' available till 4pm. I said ok could you please check to see if it is ready. She had not even touched computer at that moment so how would she have known if room is ready or not. So she put her head down more so not to look at me or even say Happy Birthday, and said again policy is no rooms are ready before 4pm with a bad attitude. I was so shocked at her rudeness. Never even said hello or nothing. Just no rooms ready till after 4. Then I said can you please check in the waterfront tower and see if any are available there. Even though she said the bayview which I booked was busy with a convention. So as not to spoil my birthday I asked if she could please check the waterfront tower. She said NOTHING for the 3rd time. Then she said I can get you one there. I said I hope it's a nice room because I'm celebrating my birthday. She continued to put her head down again. Then she handed me the key and said HERE. I was so shocked that such a rude, ignorant person could not even say Happy Birthday, Or Hello or my name is Natalie, can I help you. She acted like she did me a favor handing me a key. I have just transferred from Tropicana to Harrahs and now don't want to EVER see this rude ignorant employee again. No thank you no hello, nothing. 2 days later I went to the desk and walked up to the girl standing there named Sarah. As I approached, she smiled and said hello my name is Sarah, how can I help you. I almost fainted. Yes Harrah's does have a sweet polite employee doing her job. Sarah went above and beyond to tell me she was there less than Natalie, who was the worst. I told her what happened, not expecting anything but to let Harrah's entertainment become aware of employees like Natalie who are driving away gamblers. Sarah gave me a 20. comp for the rudeness of Natalie. Now 20 bucks is gone in a second in the casino but at least she was pleasant. Harrah's needs more employees like Sarah who VALUE their job and customers who come there to loose thousands of dollars. Unlike Natalie, who never said hello, goodbye or thankyou, just policy is rooms aren't ready till after 4 and only said here when she handed me a key. I work with people and If I had an employee in my business like that, she would be gone in the blink of an eye. I am still upset at the treatment I received at a front desk check in person. I hope the management sees this and corrects it before they loose all their gamblers to other casinos. By the way I was there on Jan. 13 and 14 and the casino was dead. You can't tell me all the rooms aren't ready till after 4. Then I got my bill and saw she even charged me an extra 10.00 early check in fee which she never told me. This girl needs to be taught the value of a good job. She also needs to be trained because it looks like she was not trained how to say hello or even a smile. Just a miserable look on her face. Incredible. Read less

Nice room. Did not appreciate the neighbors smoking habit and loud music at 8am. Food at Martorano's dinner was very disappointing this time. Diamond lounge was nice. Drink service at the tables was a bit slow in the evening. Slot machine drink service was very good.

The rooms are nice and if you get upgraded their Awesome. There’s places to eat. The Buffet is pricey but very tasty. There are many types of Slots to choose from. I can’t speak for the table games I don’t play them. Oh you will feel safe here too
Image of the Tripadvisor rating I will never go to Harrah's AC ever again. The girl at the front desk was ok, but everyone else horrible

Great location with an amazing selection of fine restaurants! The laurel (formerly diamond) lounge was a bit cramped and the line to get in moved slowly. The pool area is a great place to relax during the day and a good party spot at night!
