Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

Atlantic City, USA

The hotel

This is most definitely a large resort with a lot on offer if you’re in the mood for partying! There’s around-the-clock gaming excitement in the world-class casino, with over 150,000 square feet of action-packed tables, craps, roulette, blackjack and the hottest slot machines in town. The most noteworthy draw is The Pool, enclosed within a 90-foot high glass dome, this is an exclusive indoor tropical oasis by day and the city’s chicest party spot by night, home to the hottest club scene in Atlantic City – even Michael Phelps came here to enjoy himself after the Olympics! If you need to smooth out all the dark circles and hide the evidence of the night before, the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa will be your sanctuary. Choose from a diverse menu of treatments and you can even feel like royalty with pedicure thrones and a couple’s suite with lounge area, fireplace and spa tub. For those who like to re-energise in a more active way, there's the brand new 24-hour fitness centre with top of the range Technogym equipment. If you enjoy slightly quieter pastimes you can enrol in classes at the on-site Viking Cooking School, where instructors and celebrity chefs teach classes for all abilities. Classes include Italian specialities, learning how to create perfect sushi and the very tempting sounding Cookie Workshop.

We enjoyed our stay. We were in the coastal tower which was newly renovated and had a view of the water and the boardwalk in the distance. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. The only issues we had with the room was the odd design of the shower allows water all over the floor, and the sounds from the hallways and neighboring rooms was way too loud. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and never had it this loud. Not sure why it was like that. This hotel is about a 10 minute drive to the boardwalk. Parking is $10 less a $5 credit. You can come and go with that price as long as you keep your receipt. There isn't much to do outside of the hotel/casino unless you drive to the boardwalk. We did drive to Brigantine which is just over the bridge and enjoyed the views there. If you need gas, groceries or a cheap meal, I would go there. Other areas near the boardwalk were a little sketchy in the evening. I was disappointed that the Internet service was poor at the hotel because we are from canada and can't text without paying extra. It is supposed to be included in the resort fee but we could barely connect in the 5 days we were there. The pool was wonderful, the buffet was good, the casino itself was good and all staff we spoke with were nice and accommodating. Read less

Slot payouts are very low. I played in the high limit slot room and most machines paid little to nothing. I would definitely not recommend high rollers play here. I went to The Borgata and did much better.

You’ll book a room and when you go there they’ll say they have no more rooms they have a convention and automatically downgrade your room. Waited at front desk for over a half an hour and I still didn’t get what I was promised. Restaurants are trash. I will review on every site I can
