Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

Atlantic City, USA

The hotel

This is most definitely a large resort with a lot on offer if you’re in the mood for partying! There’s around-the-clock gaming excitement in the world-class casino, with over 150,000 square feet of action-packed tables, craps, roulette, blackjack and the hottest slot machines in town. The most noteworthy draw is The Pool, enclosed within a 90-foot high glass dome, this is an exclusive indoor tropical oasis by day and the city’s chicest party spot by night, home to the hottest club scene in Atlantic City – even Michael Phelps came here to enjoy himself after the Olympics! If you need to smooth out all the dark circles and hide the evidence of the night before, the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa will be your sanctuary. Choose from a diverse menu of treatments and you can even feel like royalty with pedicure thrones and a couple’s suite with lounge area, fireplace and spa tub. For those who like to re-energise in a more active way, there's the brand new 24-hour fitness centre with top of the range Technogym equipment. If you enjoy slightly quieter pastimes you can enrol in classes at the on-site Viking Cooking School, where instructors and celebrity chefs teach classes for all abilities. Classes include Italian specialities, learning how to create perfect sushi and the very tempting sounding Cookie Workshop.

My only issue is I wish there would have been more places to eat. On Monday night we had limited options and what was available was booked or had a long wait for take out. I requested a room in the waterfront and I got one in coastal, I did request and early check in when I made the reservation informing them I would be coming over on the ferry and would be there around noon. With 40+ floors in waterfront I don’t believe that not a single room was ready on a Sunday. The room in coastal was on but definitely not what I wanted or was expecting. I’ve been to Harrahs multiple times to either play and or stay and after this I don’t know if we will be coming back. Read less

Your TL:DR version is: skip this place, it’s gross. Stayed here with my kids for a dance convention, so keep in mind this is a review as a parent, not a party goer. But, ewwwwwww. Your TL:DR version is: skip this place, it’s gross. Stayed here with my kids for a dance convention, so keep in mind this is a review as a parent, not a party goer. But, ewwwwwww. Our room in the Waterfront Tower was grimy, gross, and super stinky. I’d booked a non-smoking room and it was clear that rule hadn’t ever been followed. The stench of smoke (cigarette, cigar, marijuana) was pervasive, not just in our room but the entire hotel. And look, I’m not generally uptight about these things, but you could easily get a contact high just sitting in our room or walking through the hallways. Kid-friendly this place is not. Plus the shower stunk of urine. 🤮 Despite a friendly phone call to housekeeping asking them to clean our room, they did not once during our entire stay. They did drop off a load of towels (but didn’t take used ones away) and left a pile of garbage bags - I guess so we could take out our own trash? The black mold on the ceiling was the icing on the birthday cake no one wants. The view was lovely, if you like the gray industrial vibe. We were digging it. The WiFi is a disaster, only worked half the time (if that) and the connection is super slow. But yet it’s pretty pricey! Don’t count on making any phone calls either, it’s a cell service black hole. Cleanest places in the whole “resort”: convention center bathrooms and parking garage hallways. Go figure. Everything at this “resort” seems rundown and tired, overlooked and unseen. It needs a lot of attention. I’m not going to point out every single broken or dirty thing there, but know the list is long. There are plenty of other hotels one could stay at in AC, I suggest checking out one of those. (Nothing in this review is Covid related either, FYI! Half of their stores and restaurants are closed due to Covid precautions [which makes waits at the others often an hour or longer]. They take temps any time you come into the property, and all staff is masked. I saw no social distancing of any kind, although the floors were labeled requesting it. They seem to be doing alright with their Covid precautions, I’d turn some attention to regular operations now if it were me.) Oh and also, they emailed and asked for my review. So, here you go! Don't ask if you don't want to know ;-) Read less

Over priced room which was supposed to be King with a waterview. We saw the roof. Staff was not friendly. My non smoking room wreaked of smoke. We didn't feel safe. There was a faint pot smell throughout the casino. It's just a party hotel.

Self-parking is free,, however its a very long walk from the parking garage to elevators that takes u to your room. We had to lugg our luggage thru casino. 1st morning, woke up to drilling and hammering. Wifi free, however day of check-out wifi was not available.

I usually stay at Harrahs more for the pool and accommodations then Gambling. With saying that I made a reservation for my past stay about 45 days in advance after getting an email that the pool was now opened. But only to hotel guest and you needed to reserve a spot ok perfect. Two days prior to my stay I call because the online reservation for the pool isn't showing my days available. The representative that answered stated that the pool is now only open from thursday- Sunday. Note my reservation was from Tuesday-Thursday. He expressed great compassion and offered to put me in for Thursday great. Was able to secure a late check out so we could enjoy the pool on our last day. Call the pool Thursday morning to confirm before going to the pool. The representative stated the person Nasiem who I spoke to Monday wasn't in and there was no note or anything for me to be let into the pool. She stated she could only put me on the wait list but since Nasiem wasn't in there wasn't anything she could do. I was beyond pissed. The fact that they changed the pool schedule and never even sent an email regarding changes is very disappointing. Not to mention I booked a waterfront tower room upon self checkin I was giving a room in the atrium. Which prompted a visit to the desk to have it changed. ... I definitely would reconsider any future stays until changes are less frequent. Read less
