Harrah's Resort Atlantic City

Atlantic City, USA

The hotel

This is most definitely a large resort with a lot on offer if you’re in the mood for partying! There’s around-the-clock gaming excitement in the world-class casino, with over 150,000 square feet of action-packed tables, craps, roulette, blackjack and the hottest slot machines in town. The most noteworthy draw is The Pool, enclosed within a 90-foot high glass dome, this is an exclusive indoor tropical oasis by day and the city’s chicest party spot by night, home to the hottest club scene in Atlantic City – even Michael Phelps came here to enjoy himself after the Olympics! If you need to smooth out all the dark circles and hide the evidence of the night before, the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa will be your sanctuary. Choose from a diverse menu of treatments and you can even feel like royalty with pedicure thrones and a couple’s suite with lounge area, fireplace and spa tub. For those who like to re-energise in a more active way, there's the brand new 24-hour fitness centre with top of the range Technogym equipment. If you enjoy slightly quieter pastimes you can enrol in classes at the on-site Viking Cooking School, where instructors and celebrity chefs teach classes for all abilities. Classes include Italian specialities, learning how to create perfect sushi and the very tempting sounding Cookie Workshop.

Booked two nights in the Waterfront Tower. Greeted by security with touchless thermometers. Used the self check-in kiosk which moved me to the Bayview Tower. Can't complain, because last time I was switched to a different tower at Harrah's it was to the Marina Tower and that was a disaster. Went up to my floor and was hit with the smell of weed. Fortunately my room didn't smell like it. Also, there was a seal on my room door which was a first for me since the pandemic. I have stayed at CET properties from here to Vegas at least four times since the pandemic and this was the first time a seal was on my door. So that was great. Room was clean for the most part. the shelves in the bathroom were dusty. I made good use of the tub. Food options were extremely limited. Tried Pin-Up Pizza on Friday and it was terrible, which is in stark contrast to the Vegas Pin-Up Pizza which was great. AC Burger seemed to be the go-to spot and it had a long line each night unless you chose take-out. Decided to head to the boardwalk on Saturday morning and saw a sign that the rewards shuttle only runs on the weekends from noon til 10:00 p.m. So I took the jitney, which turned out to be a great choice because the first boardwalk stop for the jitney was Ocean's Resort. I got to visit Ocean's for the first time. Very nice. And their table limits were lower than Harrah's. Pretty sure my next stay will be there. Made my way to Caesar's and decided to head back to Harrah's. Waited 45 minutes for the Rewards Shuttle only to find out it isn't running. So why does Harrah's have signage up saying it runs on the weekend!?!? Casino floor was packed on Saturday. Good to see people enjoying themselves. Once again the scent of marijuana greeted me when I headed back to my room. This stay was better than my last January stay but barring a great deal from CET I am going to try Ocean's for my next stay. Read less

After driving 3 hours from long island; the first room they checked me into 14052 had roaches. When i went to the toilet and closed the door a half dozen of them scattered. When I got out of the bathroom and went to call the front desk another one ran across the desk. They moved me to another room 80056 that had 2 double beds (not what I requested) a non working alarm clock and smelled like pot. Call me crazy but if a room is being sanitized , and being checked after every guest checks out this should not be happening. After being there for a total of about 4 hours I checked out and went home. On my way out, I went to 4 different hand sanitizing stations that were empty before I could find one that was functional. Not a good way to start the year. I definitely wouldn't feel safe staying there ever again after this experience. Read less

Our second time at Harrah's and this was one of the worst customer experience we had. We checked in to our room at the waterfront hotel and our room had a strong lingering cigarette smell so we called front desk to switch our rooms and she said to go directly to the seven stars/diamond section to get a new set of room keys so we don't have to wait in line again. And we did just that but when we got in line, all of a sudden, the staff behind the desk named Arnold looked up and quickly shouted, "are you seven stars?" I said no, I am not but front desk told me to come here so I can get a new room key. He didn’t even let me finish and raised his voice and said no, go to another line and didn't even let me continue to talk. I was so upset and embarrassed. I am a guest player and last thing we need is to ruin our mojo and never come back to Harrah’s again. We might not be a seven stars player today but if this is customer service by them, no thank you. No human being should scream at another human being like that. Everyone was looking and I'm sure they were shocked as well. What a poor reflection of Harrah's to hire such a rude and mean staff. If that's seven stars hospitality, no thank you. We are disgusted at such poor customer service. If you can't be kind and polite, why are you even at client facing positions?! You can check your cameras to validate my claim. This was on Saturday, 12/26 at 6:58pm. Read less
