Hamilton Princess and Beach Club, a Fairmont Managed Hotel

Bermuda, USA

The hotel

When you hear ‘Bermuda’, if you picture pink sand beaches, yachts of the rich and famous, celebrity chef dining venues, and exclusive beach clubs, you won’t be disappointed at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club. A club-style resort, you’ll find an assortment of fashionable hangouts: there’s the island’s only full-service marina, where you can catch excursions; the uber-cool Beach Club, where you can sink into chaises on rose-hued sands; the Exhale Spa and fitness hubs; and the two swimming zones – one a serene adult-only lap pool, the other a stunning infinity pool. The dining’s just as impressive, particularly at harbour-side Marcus’, with artworks by Andy Warhol and Nelson Mandela, ocean views, and an open kitchen, so you can keep an eye on Marcus Samuelsson’s protégés as they rustle up your Jerk Pork Belly or Bermudian Fish Chowder Bites.

All around a Great Time...from restaurants, to service from staff and waiters, to the very friendly local people! The Marcus restaurant is best in hotel...and around the corner is Harry's - and it is Fabulous!

I really enjoyed this hotel. The modern art is awesome all over. Warhol, Jeff Koons, kaws, Keith haring, etc., make the decor very cool. The private beach club is well worth it. I really enjoyed this hotel. The modern art is awesome all over. Warhol, Jeff Koons, kaws, Keith haring, etc., make the decor very cool. The private beach club is well worth it. People get deterred by the 20 minute shuttle but it’s harmless. The shuttle bus is nice, air conditioned, and you get to see many beaches on the island. 20 minutes is not that bad. The infinity pool at the hotel is great. Staff at the beach club and pool were very good. Beach club gets difficult to get drinks quickly at peak hours because of the sheer number of people on the beach. Marcus is a nice restaurant. Good looking bar, good food. If you’re there for multiple days definitely check out this restaurant one of the nights. The Friday night happy hour they host was one of our favorite parts of the trip! I can’t wait to come back down here every year. Read less

My family of 5 spent five nights here I could not rave more about this hotel From the moment you walk in the door, you are aware you are staying at a first class hotel The bellman are incredibly welcoming and just set the tone the second you walk in We opted for a junior suite - an over sized room with two beds and a pull out sofa. Room was classy and spacious. + was the separate sitting area with a vanity where people could get ready while others showered Loved having the easy access to town with - no cab ride needed for restaurants The infinity pool was nice and not overrun with tons of people - the pool area was fun for the kids and nice for the adults. Staff around the pool kept the area clean and fresh towels, water and sunscreen are available for guests The onsite restaurants were all great - Marcus and 1609 were our favorites. 1609 is a beautiful setting with full windows overlooking the harbor. The food was great - a special call out to Brayden and William - two of the bartenders at Marcus...they made some incredible drinks, were super friendly and offered great insight into things to do during our stay The Beach Club was incredible...a 20 minute complimentary shuttle service to a private beach on the South Shore of the Island...perfectly calm water with paddle boards, kayaks etc to explore. Great chairs and umbrellas to relax under All in all, this is an A+ location - couldn't recommend more...sure it will be costly, but a big believer of getting what you pay for... Read less

We have traveled to many hotels and resorts with our food allergic child. Many have been wonderful and accommodating. Not a single one has reached the level of service that Hamilton Princess did. Not even close. It was absolutely, positively amazing. The hotel is gorgeous and the restaurants are excellent. There aren't many but they are very good. Our room rate included the breakfast buffet- I highly recommend doing that if you are able. Bermuda is expensive, but this buffet is plentiful and timed correctly, can hold you off until dinner. The art in the hotel is a lot of fun- we never tired of exploring and admiring. Especially enjoyed having a Money Map in our room! The infinity pool is lovely, if a bit too warm. Not a lot of seats available so get there early and park. The fitness center is great- so clean- great equipment- a nice atmosphere. The fire pits and various seating areas on the grounds are so nice- and the yacht views! Awesome. Rooms are well appointed but bathrooms are very small. We were in the main building with a large balcony that was enjoyed throughout our stay. There are a lot of extras in the room which are appreciated, Nespresso machine, etc. We did have some bugs in the bathroom and in the refrigerator area, but it's a tropical climate- to be expected. The beach is nice- we did like the beach at Fairmont Southampton better overall, but this beach is lovely in it's own right. The playground is great- kept my kids so busy with no need to pay for the kids club!! :) The main thing that stood out for us was the service in this hotel by nearly everyone we came across. They were all so kind to us, and to our children. The doormen, especially Wesley. Mandy at Check-in was patient and informative. Roxanne and Matthew at the Concierge desk were a wealth of info. I don't know what Natasha's role is at Crown and Anchor but she was there every morning, greeting us by name with a smiling face and such nice conversation- so lovely. Nae in housekeeping was great communicating with us so kindly and leaving us anything we required- like bottled water. As I mentioned above, we had our son with us who has numerous severe food allergies. Lots of places accommodate, but here, the staff in food service treated him (and us) like royalty. Chef Nitin was in constant communication with us- prior to our stay, at check-in, and in the middle of our stay. He arranged a safe pizza dough to be at each restaurant should my son feel a hankering for pizza. Chefs Michael and Tekemore checked in every morning at breakfast to make fresh bacon for him, so it was not at risk for cross-contamination. Peterson at 1609 was so aware and attentive, and Chef Eric at 1609 came out to chat and was so very nice! Chef Chris at Marcus was equally wonderful- making a safe pasta alternative that was delicious- it made our son's night! He was so kind. Servers Krisna and Catalin at Marcus were also really great. We spent one meal at the Beach Club and Kelvin and Toussant were so good to us- Kelvin must be a dad because his concern and care for my children was truly from the heart. I won't forget it. The icing on the cake was our very last day- Chef Michael came out at breakfast as usual and offered to make a pizza to go for my son to eat at the airport. He was waiting for us at check out. Nobody in any industry has to do this sort of thing- not even in hospitality. This was above and beyond and truly brings tears to my eyes every time I think of him and his kindness. Any food allergy parent knows that eating outside of the home is so difficult. This was the kindest thing to think of and we appreciate it tremendously. Food allergies aside- the food at Marcus is a stand out- really so good. There's a lot to do in Bermuda, and everything is easily accessible by bus or ferry or taxi. We walked to the ferry station in Hamilton- less than 10 mins walk- and went to the Dockyard. Very touristy, would not recommend. The rest of Bermuda is so much lovelier. There is a market next door to the hotel which offers a ton of things that you would find in stores here, should you need something. They have a great bakery there, and many prepared foods for pool or beach side lunch if you want to bring your own. They also have beer/wine/etc. They close at 7 on weeknights so plan accordingly. Happy to answer questions if needed! You won't be sorry with this choice of accommodation. Read less

A walk into the main part of Hamilton takes a minute. Our best dinners were enjoyed across the street at Huckleberry at the Rosedon. Setting and service are top notch and the food was the best in Bermuda. The Princess beach club absolutely made our trip an outstanding vacation. It is a beautiful setting. There are plenty of lounge chairs to spread out and relax without being crowded. Lots of activities such as kayaks to enjoy. I definitely recommend swimming in the ocean on less crowded the east side of property. It is clearer and more refreshing. Food and beverage service by Deen was exceptional. He took great care of us with attentive, gracious service. Thank you, Deen! This will not be our last trip to Bermuda or to the Hamilton Princess. Read less
