The Fairmont Southampton

Bermuda, USA

The hotel

The luxurious Fairmont also boasts the largest guest rooms in Bermuda, making them ideal for those who want a comfortable base in which to unwind. What’s more, each room benefits from its very own balcony, perfect for sitting on at any time of day, admiring the famous pink sands and the stunning sunsets. Set in nearly 100-acres of perfectly manicured garden, dotted with bougainvillea and towering coconut palms, this is truly a sublime setting – and at just 2 hours from New York City, it’s perfect as a twin-centre destination. Relax at the resort pool or pull up a chaise lounge at the sprawling oceanfront beach club, complete with dive centre and tennis courts. Alternatively, a stint at the Willow Stream Spa might be more your style, enjoying an aromatherapy massage perhaps or a mani and pedi. A championship golf course is close by too, the stunning fairways something everyone can enjoy whether you’re an aficionado of the game or not. When it comes to dining at the Fairmont, you’re spoilt for choice, there are plenty of restaurants and cafés to choose from, including the 330 year-old AAA 4-Diamond Waterlot Inn, serving the finest steak and chops alongside treasures from the sea, fine wines and some sinful deserts!

Clean hotel, great food, helpful staff. Elegant, in a way you would expect your grandmother's home. I observed many families enjoying this location as well. Have the fish stew in Jasmine, it's a classic.

We enjoyed our stay at the Southampton. Every room has beautiful sea views however, the hotel itself is a little dated and worn as there were bumps and scuffs along the walls and wall paper that is peeling. I was grateful to be upgraded to a corner deluxe room as there was a lot of natural sunlight and the views were really pretty. The lounge has… Read more

I was grateful to be upgraded to a corner deluxe room as there was a lot of natural sunlight and the views were really pretty. The lounge has great drinks and spa was lovely with an additional indoor pool and hot tubs. We were visiting during off season so the beach club was not fully operational and the water was too cool to enjoy. Read less

Stayed overnight for work and this place is beautiful. Shuttle services to Horseshoe bay, ferry to Downtown Hamilton, public buses are convenient to travel around Island. Grounds and Golf course lovely, staff accomodating. I had a very nice room with water view.

The service was perfect in every way, from the room always being made up when we returned from breakfast to every concierge who provided excellent advice. We especially appreciated the kid-friendly pool and play room, as well as the patience and solicitousness of the staff in dealing with the four year old. The property offered something for all of us - golf for my husband, running trails for my son and daughter-in-law. My granddaughter loved the pool slide and the beach. At the end of the day we were all able to sit down for a lovely meal at one of the four restaurants that were open. None of this was cheap, but we felt the level of service, the quality of the food and the many activities the hotel offered made it worth the price. Read less

We just returned from a long delayed (18 years) honeymoon in Bermuda. Friends recommended we stayed at the Fairmont Southhampton. We booked a Gold Floor Seaview Room. We strongly recommend spending the extra money on the Gold Floor, the value is worth it. The check-in was seamless. The room was perfect with an amazing ocean view of the sunrise in the morning. Our only criticism, and the hotel has no control, was the room was over the pool which meant very loud screaming kids most of the day. A wonderful breakfast was included every morning as well as Tea Time, Afternoon Canapés and Evening Deserts. The wait staff was incredibly welcoming and assisted with anything we needed. The floor is extremely quiet throughout the day and night. There were a lot of kids in the hotel for school vacation week, but other than the pool we never heard them. Great floor for couples or older guests. The variety of restaurants, the shuttles and the private beach only added to make this a near perfect stay. Every staff member greeted you whenever you saw them. Thank you all for an incredible vacation! We would strongly recommend the hotel to anyone. Read less
