The Fairmont Southampton

Bermuda, USA

The hotel

The luxurious Fairmont also boasts the largest guest rooms in Bermuda, making them ideal for those who want a comfortable base in which to unwind. What’s more, each room benefits from its very own balcony, perfect for sitting on at any time of day, admiring the famous pink sands and the stunning sunsets. Set in nearly 100-acres of perfectly manicured garden, dotted with bougainvillea and towering coconut palms, this is truly a sublime setting – and at just 2 hours from New York City, it’s perfect as a twin-centre destination. Relax at the resort pool or pull up a chaise lounge at the sprawling oceanfront beach club, complete with dive centre and tennis courts. Alternatively, a stint at the Willow Stream Spa might be more your style, enjoying an aromatherapy massage perhaps or a mani and pedi. A championship golf course is close by too, the stunning fairways something everyone can enjoy whether you’re an aficionado of the game or not. When it comes to dining at the Fairmont, you’re spoilt for choice, there are plenty of restaurants and cafés to choose from, including the 330 year-old AAA 4-Diamond Waterlot Inn, serving the finest steak and chops alongside treasures from the sea, fine wines and some sinful deserts!

We did enjoy the heated indoor pool at night and the hot tub. Read less

Its crowded and the weather isn't great and expensive. Bermuda, on the other hand is delightful the Fairmont-Southampton resort is fabulous. 9 hole golf course right on the grounds and a private beach within walking , although the shuttle runs back and forth constantly. The public transportation is handy and not expensive, and actually adds to the experience of the vacation. Our concierge; Laverne, was extremely helpful in helping us with our daily trips around Bermuda. We stayed in a King Suite on the 4th. floor. Great view, and very spacious. We highly recommend Bermuda and this Resort. Read less

Big thanks to Steve the doorman for being so friendly and recommending rum swizzles, my new “medicine” (ha,ha) and Stacy a beautiful waitress at the Jasmine restaurant who made us feel right at home. March is the off season but we still enjoyed the heated pool. Had one great spa day that allowed access to indoor pool and extra amenities like a eucalyptus steam room. Took their shuttle bus and walked the beach and trails of Horseshoe Bay. Hiked up to the Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse. I am not a big drinker but I super enjoyed happy hour at the Borderline Sports Bar! Would definitely go back to this hotel. The only reason I took off one star was the mattress in our room that’d seen better days. Tough on the back. Beautiful room with a walk-in closet however. Despite being low-season the hotel was fairly busy which was good. The food & drink menus are extensive throughout the day at a variety of restaurants. Perhaps overall the staff couldn’t have been more helpful & friendly, particularly Merwyn at the Boundary restaurant, Paul in Jasmine’s & Elizabeth at front of house Jasmine’s. They were particularly welcoming & happy to see to our needs. We weren’t here long, but we would definitely come back. Read less
