Element Boston Seaport District

Boston, USA

The hotel

A thoroughly modern concept in Boston hotels, Element Boston Seaport states it’s been ‘built green from the ground up’. Its eco-friendly principles don’t get in the way of style or luxuries though. Both come in abundance. The public and private spaces are slick and urban, with all the requisite clean lines, blocky furniture, and muted natural colours you’d expect from a hotel that only opened its doors in 2016. This contemporary styling’s evident in the oversized guestrooms with their full kitchens; the cosy reading nooks; the indoor pool space; and the amenities laid on, including free bicycles for exploring your Seaport surrounds, complimentary WiFi, and a ‘Rise, Restore, Relax’ dining mantra, which translates into a 24-hour gourmet pantry, complimentary breakfasts, and midweek receptions with free drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

A few minutes’ walk from harbour cruise launches and the Blue Hills Pavilion amphitheatre, it’s also 1.1 miles from The Children’s Museum and Boston Tea Party Shops and Museum, 1.6 miles from New England Aquarium and Boston Common, and 1.9 miles from Faneuil Hall and the theatre district. Did not eat at the restaurant, but got coffee at the Starbucks coffee stand that has light food options, bottled water, juices, etc. There is a decent gift shop stocked with necessities -- a nice convenience to have this option in house if you do not want to venture out to the nearest drugstore. The valet parking was efficient and the charge is in line with any hotel in a major city. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others! Read less

Rooms have a full kitchen which is awesome! So you can cook your own food or reheat leftovers. There's complimentary breakfast which not many hotels in the Seaport area offer. The breakfast is basically Continental with a couple hot offerings: small egg fritattas and rotating menu of French toast or pancakes. It definitely could use a meat option like bacon, sausage or ham though. During my stay, there were happy hours in the lobby with beverages and crackers and cheese. The eco-friendly theme is present throughout the hotel. If you like to bike, you can rent bikes for free and you are provided with a helmet, lock and a map. The kitchen sink has filtered watern so bring your own water bottle and cut down on plastic. The fitness center is a good size and the indoor pool is heated. There is a park called the Lawn on the D across the street. It seems to have activities starting Thursday's and going through the weekends. When you enter the hotel, there is a doggy bowl. There's also pet food on the menu. So cute. I really liked the magnet idea for the doors instead of hang tags. The thing that made my stay memorable was the exceptional service from the staff. Kevin and Kenny made me feel like a valued customer and made sure my needs were taken cared of. I definitely recommend and would stay again. Read less

Me and my friends were really happy with Element hotel experience on our first trip to Boston. Element is a Westin/Marriott brand that includes kitchens with the rooms for longer stays. The hotel is near the Seaport convention center and a handful of blocks from the water. The lobby area is nicely decorated and comfortable. The hallways are a bit odd as the doors to the rooms look like they should be in dorms or institutions. The units are small but clean and well stocked. Beds are acceptable but nothing fancy. Unfortunately, the rooms could be quieter. We had a second floor room over the dueling piano bar club below - we could hear the music well enough to sing along with the lyrics. The hotel is also in proximity of Logan Airport, so expect more noise from planes. Breakfast was marginal - obviously designed for a low budget. There was a person cooking french toast to order, but the only eggs were tiny frittata bites and there was no fresh fruit. Checkout was easy. Parking is in a lot next door at $28 per day, but unfortunately the lot is on the opposite of the hotel from the hotel entrance (who's idea was that?). Rates are very reasonable here though. The pool was almost always empty, and the free breakfast was never crowded. Reliable internet for those who need it. The wine/cheese in the lobby weekdays (except Friday) was a very welcome invitation to relax. My room was clean, very comfortable and just great for an extended stay (I was there eight days.). Always found a taxi waiting outside when I needed it. One of the best business hotel stays I’ve ever had. Truly a home away from home. Read less
