Nine Zero, A Kimpton Hotel

Boston, USA

The hotel

This luxury Boston hotel is regarded as one of the best in Boston. It's trendy, well positioned and friendly with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Guest rooms provide a welcome retreat from the buzz of the city, featuring a good range of mod cons. For a real treat, take advantage of the in-room spa treatments available, including hot stone massage and spirulina body wrap - pure bliss! There's also a state-of-the-art fitness centre, open 24/7 with complimentary water and towels to cool you down. Because you're so central, there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity but if you're in the mood for another treat (and why no, you're on holiday!), make sure you frequent the hotel's vintage cocktail lounge, the Highball. Popular with the locals, it's a great mix of fun and nostalgia with some killer cocktails to boot.

This hotel provided the perfect location to celebrate my husbands birthday during our recent stay in Boston. Perfect location within walking distance of all major points of interest. The staff we interacted with was very professional, friendly & courteous which made our stay so much more comfortable. Our first experience with the staff was with front desk upon arrival and Jesse made us feel welcome from the moment we walked up to the desk. The decor throughout the entire hotel is absolutely beautiful, our room on the 19th floor was amazing with great views. We visit Boston often and after staying at several others well known hotels in the area, we have found the one we will most definitely return to during our next visit. Read less

We stayed for a long weekend and had an excellent time. Our flight arrived mid-morning and upon arrival at the front desk we were offered early check-in for a fee of $25 (which was tempting!) but were advised to wait for a room on a higher floor away from elevators. We took the advice, checked our bags, and received a lovely, quiet room. The very best part of this hotel (apart from the wonderful, quiet, and comfortable room) is the location. We were only a few blocks from most T lines and it was so easy to explore the city. It was really awesome to return to a centrally located hotel at the end of the day and relax in a really comfortable and amazingly clean room (huge shoutout to housekeeping!!). Some travelers have posted recent reviews regarding uncomfortable rooms and noise levels. I'm happy to say that wasn't our experience at all and we'll definitely return to the Nine Zero for future trips to Boston. Read less

First of all I must say that the front staff were incredibly friendly in checking us in, the lobby area was very clean and we were greeted immediately. We stayed for a nice weekend to experience Boston in the fall. The hotel still adhering to covid standards, no room service, no restaurant, but they do clean the rooms. The cleaning staff ARE THE LOUDEST EVER. Once they begin working, I think they get points toward free lunches for a many times they can yell down the hall and slam doors. Our neighbors in the adjacent room were trying to keep up with the cleaning staff, slamming their door which shakes the wall ever time. Room 1409, don't stay in that one, its right near maid station. 1411, if they close the door, it shakes the wall. Kimpton won't see me staying here ever again. Read less

Worst stay ever. EVER. I preface this by saying I am an Elite member and, right or wrong, do have some expectations as I have stayed in Kimptons before and IHG often. Worst stay ever. EVER. I preface this by saying I am an Elite member and, right or wrong, do have some expectations as I have stayed in Kimptons before and IHG often. I spent three days at the Nine Zero and while the location was good, that's about where the good stopped. The room was okay, but damaged and scratched furniture, a frayed bath mat that if it were in your home, you would throw away, and a moldy shower curtain. The staff was not accommodating at all and was actually rude, ice maker on the floor didn't work - several reviews below state this and still not fixed. No upgrade was accommodated, but at check-in, I was told this was an upgrade. I pointed out that it was the exact room I had reserved - so no upgrade at all and no mention of my loyalty. The view I had was of a brick wall and some windows of the next building over. There was no restaurant open "due to covid". No bar, no nothing but overpriced chips, cokes and water in the "pantry". They give you some 10% off coupon for breakfast at a cafe a couple of blocks over - useless. morning coffee service has no milk or creamer, just the coffee mate pods, and was removed by about 9 am - even on the weekend. No water in room - even for elite members. Just $8.00 water for purchase downstairs. Evidently I received a $10 daily credit for the downstairs "pantry" but there was no mention of it at check-in. However, when I checked out and I asked about the $25 + tax "resort fee", I was told that a $10 credit was part of the fee. Why was that not mentioned at check-in? Additionally, they did not provide all of the services under the "resort fee". I still want my fee back. The Kimpton happy hour consisted of bad wine in plastic cups that was poured from the staff room behind the front desk. Three hours after happy hour was over, the lobby still had plastic cups everywhere as it had not been cleaned up. This is not the usual Kimpton experience. I definitely would not recommend staying here. And while someone is going to likely reply to this and say something like "I will address with the staff" and "we will get this fixed", rest assured they have been saying that for a while now and nothing has changed.
