XV Beacon

Boston, USA

The hotel

This boutique hotel, originally built in 1903 boasts a Beaux Arts facade and art deco furnishings befitting to its evocative gas-lit street neighbourhood. XV Beacon combines the intimacy of a private residence with the service of a luxury hotel. Simply sophisticated, each floor leads to at most 7 bespoke guestrooms for an intimate feel. And old and new intermingle effortlessly: rooms feature modern rainforest showers and fireplaces, alongside traditional touches like fresh flowers and cashmere throws; the fine dining steakhouse Mooo…. hides a 4th-5th century Roman mosaic in its wine cellar; contemporary design details sit happily among original features like caged glass elevators, and its listing in the National Register of Historic Places; and modern luxuries like complimentary WiFi are set against that time-honoured ‘personal touch’, with a Concierge at your beck and call 24 hours a day.

Nice boutique hotel well located, next to Boston Common and walking distance from Charles Street. The rooms are cozy with a fire place but I don’t recommend the rooms located in the inner courtyard as they are noisy. The ultimate service in this hotel was definitely the Concierge desk. Ryan McDonnell and Daryl Popper have been incredible to us! They were able to find us, at the very last minute, 8 great seats ideally located for the Celtics Opening Game. Thank you again Ryan and Daryl for your personal involvement in this challenging request. My family had the best time that evening! Read less

Concierge Ryan McDonald was especially impressive, helping us with our trip even the day after we checked out. Their recommendations were excellent. The hotel itself was comfortable and seamless to navigate, with great amenities. Felt very personalized. From someone who has stayed at many of the world‘s best hotels, this was way up there! The hotel and our room was incredible and far better and more posh than I had expected! We opted for a corner suite and it was to die for. HUGE, incredible layout, lovely furniture and decorations, neat details (fireplace, room wired for music in every room, electric do not disturb button, towel warmers etc!), and it was just so so nice. We didn’t want to leave! I feel like this hotel room has ruined all future hotel rooms lol! I would highly recommend it. The location is incredible, the staff was beyond wonderful, and the restaurant (Mooo) was delicious and so swank! Will only stay at this hotel when visiting Boston in the future! I can’t wait to come back! Read less

We really enjoyed the hotel. The furnishings, Apple cider, espresso in room, and especially the location. Close to everything. We were able to walk to most everything and the concierge arranged a trip to Salem for us. The restaurant attached Mooo was AMAZING too.
