XV Beacon

Boston, USA

The hotel

This boutique hotel, originally built in 1903 boasts a Beaux Arts facade and art deco furnishings befitting to its evocative gas-lit street neighbourhood. XV Beacon combines the intimacy of a private residence with the service of a luxury hotel. Simply sophisticated, each floor leads to at most 7 bespoke guestrooms for an intimate feel. And old and new intermingle effortlessly: rooms feature modern rainforest showers and fireplaces, alongside traditional touches like fresh flowers and cashmere throws; the fine dining steakhouse Mooo…. hides a 4th-5th century Roman mosaic in its wine cellar; contemporary design details sit happily among original features like caged glass elevators, and its listing in the National Register of Historic Places; and modern luxuries like complimentary WiFi are set against that time-honoured ‘personal touch’, with a Concierge at your beck and call 24 hours a day.

This property is absolutely amazing. From the front desk to the room, no detail is overlooked. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Check in was quick. Our room was exceptionally clean. We had a suite, but can’t remember the name. The Concierge member (I wish I could remember his name and the front desk staff, too!) was amazing and helped us find great places to eat as well as Halloween parties happening in the area. The reservations may seem expensive but you truly get what you pay for. The best hotel in Boston. Hands down. Thank y’all for everything! Read less

I have stayed at the Beacon twice, the second time with a Business group. The hotel is beautiful and unique, the rooms are lovely with gas fireplaces in every room, and the staff is so friendly. I love the location too. I can't wait to go back!

Nice hotel, Classic and central. But very bad service as no one help me when I arrived with my luggage. I was tired after an transoceanic flight and it would have been nice. They helped me when I was already at the front desc (sic). I had another reservation for later this month (of course already cancel) and they couldn’t find it...they told me maybe I did it under another name?? Or I might check with my agent ( it looked like I was bothering) The inform me incorrectly of the breakfast time and what they did many times is to try to sell me his car transportation ... in a very expensive cost. Of course I call my agent (AMEX) and I told them to cancel my other reservation for the end of the month. Read less

First stay. Usually look for 5 stars near Boston Common. Found this one by chance. Nichy, boutique feel. All you’d expect from a luxury hotel. Particularly competent afternoon / evening Concierge (David). Only caveat: I think I payed extra for what they call a “Park View” room. In reality, not on the Park but about 100 yards away from it. … Read more

Yes, you can see a sliver of the Park from your room. A sliver. Very good if expensive restaurant in hotel. Read less

My fiancé and I stayed at XV Beacon for our City Hall Ceremony. From check in to check out everything was perfect. They offered to upgrade our room for the occasion. They also sent up a congratulations spread with chocolate covered strawberries and wine. The room itself was remarkable. (There was a fireplace and well stocked mini bar) We were on the 8th floor which had a great view of the city skyline. Bed was so comfortable with plush bedding and pillows. The jetted tub was great after a long day. They offer 24hr room service from their in house restaurant Moo that was delicious. There staff was very accommodating and they even offer a car service to bring us to City Hall even though it wasn’t that far but it was a cold February day. They truly made out special day more memorable. Every time we interact with them they made sure to congratulate us and wish us the best. We definitely will be back. Read less
