From the moment we arrived until we reluctantly departed, L'Auberge Carmel was a lovely experience in being pampered by experts. The rooms are European in style, charming as opposed to stark American hotel modern. All of the expected touches are there. The service is superb. As we were staying several nights, we decided to explore a local restaurant on our first night. When we asked for our car, the staff insisted on driving us in their beautiful limousine and Edgar, the chauffeur, a kind and attentive person, took pleasure in describing the village to us as we were driving. It made the experience even more special. When we were ready to return, he came instantly and took exceptional care of us. The following night, we dined at Aubergine, the Michelin star restaurant at L'Auberge Carmel. Justin Cogley's cuisine is outstanding, as is the pastry from Pastry Chef Yulanda Santos. They have created an exceptional team. The restaurant is an intimate space perfect for a romantic dinner. Everyone on the staff is warm and welcoming, doing everything they can to make your experience perfect. We enthusiastically recommend both L'Auberge Carmel and Aubergine to anyone wishing a memorable escape to a beautiful seaside village. Read less

The rooms are spacious, super clean with amazing natural light, very comfy bed, bathroom is so cozy (tiles are heated) and a bathtub to die for. The ambiance of the courtyard feels so romantic, relaxed and warm. The breakfast was delicious, the fluffy french toast is the bomb, missing it already. We had the best couples massage in our room. As far as customer service they go above and beyond to make you feel very comfortable and make sure that all your needs are met, a few things to mention, we were driven to and picked up from our restaurant one night which was so nice since we had had some wine, the pastry chef Yolanda made custom delicious sweet treats for my bday, my husband forgot his coat at a restaurant in the area and only remembered when we had left Carmel, Edwin went out of his way to pick it up at the restaurant and arranged for it to be shipped to us. Overall phenomenal customer service. We would highly highly recommend L'Auberge Carmel Katia, Edwin, Dianna, Yolanda and the entire staff were amazing and made our time there truly memorable. Thank you Renida and Mike Read less

The staff was exceptionally welcoming and the location perfect. But we expected more for a hotel of this caliber. The room, while spacious, felt outdated. My phone was running low, Yet there was no outlet easily accessible by the bed, so I had to sit on a rather uncomfortable arm chair that was near a plug. The bathroom was large, the towels… Read more

This was our fourth stay at L'Auberge. Frankly, I don't see why we would consider anywhere else for our couples escapes. From the minute you pull up, you feel like you are a celebrity.
