Image of the Tripadvisor rating Very overpriced hotel

This hotel is very overpriced. Average room, tiny hot tub jammed with kids eating snacks most times. Maid service was late in the day and missed one day. Staff showed up 3 nights to deliver something that was for a different room. Taxes and fees are an additional $125 a night.

Every room is ocean front! To sit and enjoy a cocktail from your balcony and watch dolphins swimming is magical! We also saw sea lions! Very clean rooms, the nicest staff and a great beach! So many shops and restaurants in walking distance.

If you are ready to spend money for a quick and easy get away, this is your place. Better romantic spot vs. family but the hotel does have a lot to do for children. The service, views and accommodations are fabulous. The rooms are not fancy but very comfortable. You are paying for the view and balcony of the rooms. You can hear the surf all night long even with the door closed. Pool and spa are upscale. Splashes Bar is unique. Just wish we got a sunset the night we we're there. Book hotel early. Read less

Beware of the noise! It was the worst nights stay. Don't waste your money! Staff was less than helpful. We complained several times and nothing was done. Only thing redeeming about the place is the restaurant!

The good: Valets very helpful and nice ,room was clean, and was able to check in a little early around 2;30pm. Now, for the bad: valet is 35.00 per night, no free coffee in the lobby, not much choice at Splashes or room service for food, and it is expensive compared to local nicer restaurants. Secondly, I wrote on their contact page a few days ahead of time to remind them that it was our 19 year anniversary, and expected some kind of extra perk maybe upgrade to towers instead of seaview over the pool, flowers, wine, etc. Apparently, when you write Hotel email they don't get it? It was a 3rd floor room over pool, which had music loud during the day and screaming kids...at night Splashes had both nights heavy drinkers that were super loud out on patio .So, it killed romantic setting to sit on balcony deck outside our room. Now, I usually stay in tower away from pool, but not at 800.00 plus per night. Our king bed above pool ran approx 1260 for 2 nights which included valet and resort tax(which is a ripoff). When I mentioned my email today checking out, he said well you booked it on another website and I said that I emailed Surf and Sand directly through their site for request ahead of time. Also, he says why didn't I contact hotel to price match, why not just have rates that beat agoda to begin with. I saved little money, but when you look at 600 per night, and the beach is overcrowded below....not good, so desk man could have taken off valet or resort fee to make it up to me. Read less
