I called the hotel directed in May for our July stay. Was quoted a room rate only to be TRIPLE CHARGED when the bill was slipped under the door the last day of the visit. First the front desk person blamed me. Then, when they found this to be their error, they offered complimentary breakfast and told me to charge the room and it would be credited.… Read more

Got charged for that too. Are they hoping you just won't notice? Maybe. Read less

This hotel was one of the highlights of our PCH trip. The breakfast was one of the best things I ate during our entire trip and the views from the hotel were beautiful and relaxing. It has been awhile since I last visited Monterey and have gone by this establishment several times never thinking of staying. Since it was our daughter’s birthday and our anniversary, she and her boyfriend invited us to come along on a trip to Monterey. To our surprise it was the Plaza - the very one we have driven by. It’s elegance glimmers off its beautiful coast - Ivan greeted us with open arms and quickly checked us in. Attention to detail everywhere with an incredible view of the ocean. Keep in mind that the lower lobby connects both buildings on the coastal side so you may find yourself strolling a little longer to your room if it’s not in the main lobby. This would one important note if your looking for rooms accessible to your needs such in our case as our daughter and boyfriend are vision and hearing impaired. Never the less it’s all beautiful! We had lunch and breakfast at Schooners in same hotel and found out how exceptional the food is. The reviews are there to compare and may find yourself not paying that much more outside of this find establishment. We One thing for sure, feel free to ask what you need and it shall be received. Most of the staff members went out of their way to accommodate us with our needs. Gaven assisted in our departure and as I entered in my vehicle, they have placed water bottles front and back. Maybe a small detail for some but a bid deal for us. We are looking forward in coming back . Our thanks for your wonderful hospitality! Read less

Excellent accommodations within walking distance of so much. Outstanding on site restaurant. While they don’t have a pool, they do have 2 hot tubs. Water view room was very spacious and well appointed. The ceiling fan was really appreciated!

Third year in a row to stay here in July. Hotel staff was excellent in all departments. Valet staff was great and charged our Tesla every night. Restaurant was very nice for breakfast, with a view of the ocean.
