Very nice upscale hotel with nice amenities and amazing views of the bay. The room was very clean, large and like I said , you cant beat the view. The bathroom was very spacious and the service (front desk, valet, etc.) were all excellent. Great location and within walking distance to anything in town.

We have stayed at MPH several times over the last 15 years and I am extremely disappointed at my last stay on 9/26/2020. We decided to take my daughter for her 14th birthday and two other children for a trip to Monterey. I pre-paid a partial ocean view with a balcony and double beds, but when we arrived I was told that the room was no longer available. My husband checked in and I was unaware that the room was given away until he told me that there were no balcony/ocean view rooms left. The front desk rep "upgraded" the room to an ocean view with no balcony, which defeated the entire purpose of reserving a balcony room. My plan was to decorate the room to make it special. I went to speak with the front desk to ask for a different room, which I was willing to pay but was advised there was nothing available. He then offered me a credit for parking of $30, which was unacceptable. I went back and spoke to another person who offered me $100, which again, after paying over $425 for one night in a room with no balcony was not acceptable. She offered to move us to another room in the Spa building with one bed. One bed for two adults, a 14, 10, and 5 year old children is not acceptable either. She settled on $200 and I walked away very dissatisfied. My dissatisfaction was not about the money, but the experience. We were looking forward to a special experience for our daughter due to recent COVID restrictions- but instead were locked in a room with 2 adults and 3 children. We made the best of it, but I believe a dining credit or a complimentary room for a future stay. We've enjoyed our stays in the past, but needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with this experience. Read less

The hotel was clean and the staff was amazing. The room decor is dated but very clean and comfortable. I assume the city is requiring the aggressive face covering signs but the signs threatening $100 fines are off-putting and makes you feel very unwelcome.

I enjoyed staying here. I was worried about staying at a hotel due to the pandemic, but I felt very safe. The location was very clean and I could see people sanitizing at all times. Employees were also very friendly and welcoming
