Beware of this hotel and their very poor ventilation. We stayed there over the 19th of June weekend and had a bad experience with the smell of marijuana coming into our bathroom ventilation. It woke us up in the middle of the night. Staff was receptive to our complaint, we did move rooms but many guests at this hotel seemed to be using the drug. My biggest concern at this time is Covid also coming into our room based upon the stench we experienced? There was no way to open a window and the air conditioning ran frequently. Going forward- if the state allows the use of marijuana I think it’s imperative hotels figure out how to enforce the non smoking policy at their property. Flyers in the room are not doing the trick. Upon check in it should be stated that if you are smoking in the room you will be asked to vacate immediately. And it should be enforced. Perhaps a law in CA that a hotel can kick you out and still be able to charge you for the stay along with a cleaning fee would be effective. Again, the front desk staff was receptive and empathetic to my concern. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Horrible Stay - Hotel Personnel Tried Breaking into Our Room!!

This was by far one of the most disturbing hotel stays I've ever had - someone tried to break in our room at 2:00 AM, only to be stopped by the manual door latch. This was by far one of the most disturbing hotel stays I've ever had - someone tried to break in our room at 2:00 AM, only to be stopped by the manual door latch. The person trying to get in said they needed to get in to retrieve some tools they left behind in the room (??). Person said they were with hotel security, but we had received no calls prior and IT WAS 2:00 freaking AM!! We didn't let the person in, called the front desk. The person there was clueless and could barely speak English. I called back about 10 minutes later and the desk attendant said "Oh yeah, that was our security guy." WTH?? She then puts him on the phone and he can barely speak English but says "I'm sorry for trying to get into your room, I didn't think it was occupied>" WTH?? The hotel personnel can't find out what rooms are occupied?? Needless to say, it is kind of hard to go back to sleep at 2:00 freaking AM when you are awoken like this. Next morning I mention it to the front desk and the gal says, "That's weird, the night watch didn't mention it." Kind of like I was making it up. I told her - check your phone logs. Why in the freak would I call the front desk at 2:00 freaking AM and again at 2:10 AM?? She said, "I'll have the manager call you later this morning. Three weeks later, and after leaving the manager Mohammad several voice messages and leaving a customer service request with Hilton - nada, nothing - they can't even call and apologize or explain how this happened. As I said - disturbing stay, but what has become even more troubling is the lack of concern over the incident and the failure of management to address it - both at the hotel and with Hilton. I've been a loyal Hilton member but the lack of response has led me to start booking other than Hilton. I would not recommend staying at this location in Walnut Creek - management is awful and safety is suspect. Read less

Upon entering the first room we were assigned (on the 5th floor), I went to set a bag on the desk/table, and my foot kicked something "weird" under the table; upon inspection, I found that it was a breakfast sausage!! Upon entering the first room we were assigned (on the 5th floor), I went to set a bag on the desk/table, and my foot kicked something "weird" under the table; upon inspection, I found that it was a breakfast sausage!! (see the picture) I tried to call the front desk to ask for another room, but neither landline in our suite worked; both were absolutely dead! So I took a picture of the sausage down to the desk and got a new room (on the 7th floor). Great! The second day of our stay I left the room at noon and noticed a plate of leftover pizza sitting outside a room. I didn't think too much of it at the time, but when I returned to the room hours later, said pizza was still there. The next morning when we went down for breakfast, yup, pizza still there. So I took a picture ... because really, how many employees must've walked past that pizza and thought, "not my job"? When we returned from breakfast that room was being cleaned. And the pizza? It had been moved to a table next to the elevator! Unbelievable! You could assume they're short-staffed due to the coronavirus; but in that case, it's still Management's job to keep an eye out to make sure everything is taken care of. I gave them two stars (instead of just one) because the front desk gal, Rose, was very nice and efficient. Also all of the kitchen staff were very nice and working hard. Read less

Overall, great property. Love the complimentary happy hour and drinks, free breakfast buffet in morning. And room was awesome,. We had a suite- plenty of room, clean, and the bedding was AMAZING! One of the most comfy beds I've ever slept in! Those are the pluses! But... this is not a 'nice quiet stay'. So if you want that- look elsewhere. There were SEVERAL groups with a lot of children. not families. more like 'teams'. Everywhere we went, big groups of kids. Running all over, up and down halls, etc. Which is ok... just be prepared for that. And the pool- do not plan to use the indoor poolk for a nice swim, or to let your small kids in. The pool was PACKED with at least 50 or more LOUD, unruly kids/teens. It was unsafe. My girls were huddled in a corner, trying not to get jumped on, knocked over, splashed. I saw another parent complain to the gal at the door (who should be limiting the number of guests in the pool!) that her child was being aggressively dunked and pushed and what not. There were no adults watching these big groups of kids- it was a free for all. The employee at the door of pool checking tickets told me it is usually pretty crazy on Fri-Sat nights (I asked 'is this NORMAL?) I couldn't even stay in there- I was soaked after trying to sit and watch my kids. We left. So if the pool isn't your main focus, or reason for choosing this hotel on a weekend-- then by all means, it's GREAT! Weekends--I get the idea it is a crazy hotel! Read less
