Hilton Concord

Oakland, California Coast

The hotel

Set against views of Mount Diablo, Hilton Concord’s thought of everything you need for a stay in East Bay. First there’s the location: it’s right between Waterworld California and the Willows and Sun Valley shopping centres, each a stroll away; and its complimentary shuttle runs to the Concord BART station for easier trips into San Francisco. Then there are the hotel’s own attractions, from the fitness centre, outdoor pool and whirlpool, to its various watering holes, ideal whether you just want to grab a Starbucks coffee on your way out, or linger over a glass of Napa or Sonoma wine on your way back in. And finally it adds the pleasingly named ‘Plate & Vine’, serving locally sourced north Californian favourites against an on-trend backdrop of brick walls and rustic detailing.

Always someone at the front desk. Every staff member was friendly, efficient and kind. Always someone at the front desk. Every staff member was friendly, efficient and kind. As we were evacuated due to a wildfire in our area, they gave us a break on most fees (e.g., cancellation fees, pet and parking fees), which was greatly appreciated. Other Pros: - COVID-19: Masks required in hotel; All staff wear masks or face shields; barriers between front desk and guests. Hand sanitizer at front desk for guests. Lobby is very large/open - easy to stay 6' from other guests. - Super fast elevator - we never had to wait more than a minute for one. - Walking path very close to the hotel (dogs permitted on leash). - The Willows is across the street, with many restaurants to chose from. - Room: Nothing fancy but updated recently and very nice. Cons: Parking fees (ours were kindly waived) are hefty. It is unclear why they have parking fees, as the hotel is not in a busy downtown area. It's surrounded by businesses, so non-guests are not likely to park there. Read less

You can tell this hotel is primarily used for corporate employees. It's not as plush as most Hilton's but still very nice. I originally would not have given it 4 starts because it was one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed in but the staff is incredibly professional and nice. When I checked in the toilet was still dirty. Had urine and feces on it. I called and asked to have it cleaned and left for five hours. Came back and it was still not cleaned. Housekeeping came up to clean it and luckily forgot the bottle of disinfectant because she still missed a lot of spots. I used it and cleaned all the door handles, lights, etc that had obviously not had a good wipe down in a long time. The restroom is also very worn and outdated. The room itself was very nice, amazing breakfast buffet and the staff is wonderful. I was there the week the covid 19 stuff started. They had to close the buffet and were short staffed but so accommodating. Will probably give it another try in the future with the family to try out the water park nearby. Read less

Nice place to stay. Have to pay for parking. Restaurant was good. I had room service. Can’t find the name to rate them separately but I had the beet salad and tuna sandwich. I liked the tuna best just eating it with a fork because the hard boiked egg and avocado over powered it.

Beautiful hotel, clean updated rooms, all the details and amenities you need. Friendly helpful knowledgeable staff. Dislike the parking situation, but it wasn't too bad. You should stay here. You won't regret it.
