Inn at Morro Bay

San Luis Obispo, California Coast

The hotel

Squeezed between Morro Bay and a golf course, this waterfront hotel’s taken over a whole patch of prime seaside real estate, giving you views of the bay and Morro Rock. Inside it’s dressed for the occasion, with nautical navy and white adding to its seaside flavour. Sitting on the edge of Morro Bay State Park, it’s midway between LA and San Francisco – something reflected by its popular 60 State Park Restaurant and Lounge, where the bay view draws you in, and the Central Coast cuisine makes sure you stay – whether you’re tucking into clam chowder in a sourdough bowl for lunch or the 60 State Park Burger for dinner. And, with its motel style, it’s made for those wanting to explore the region’s missions, wineries, beaches, and lighthouses, before relaxing on the pretty terrace with its pool and hot tub.

Beside not getting the room type that we booked for our anniversary, no fireplace & no private balcony, the room was extremely dirty. Stained carpet, dirty shower, hair in and around the bathroom sink as if someone had just shaved, dirty coffee maker & cups, dirty bedspread. Just awful! After we complained and left after just 10-minutes in the… Read more

Stained carpet, dirty shower, hair in and around the bathroom sink as if someone had just shaved, dirty coffee maker & cups, dirty bedspread. Just awful! After we complained and left after just 10-minutes in the room, we were told that we would be getting a refund but that did not happen. I just spent 30-minutes on the phone with American Express disputing the charge of $215. Read less

Such a lovely coastal inn. Lobby staff was super friendly, location was ideal. Would describe the rooms as quaint, typical of a small beach town. Room was quiet, service responsive. Would absolutely stay again.

This place looked really clean from the photos, um not so much once I arrived. Checked in 7/2/20 and my room had empty beer cans, the floor was sticky, towels all over the floor and the list goes on. Obviously the front desk switched me to another room. Well, it was visibly nasty...cigarette buds all outside on the patio, the sliding glass door… Read more

Obviously the front desk switched me to another room. Well, it was visibly nasty...cigarette buds all outside on the patio, the sliding glass door was not clean, fingerprints all over the fireplace and doors...one would think that because of Covid the hotel would be responsible in making sure the rooms are clean to protect their guests. I cancelled my reservation and moved hotels. Read less

This used to be such a romantic hotel with jacuzzi's on the deck and a 5 star restaurant. We found out all of that was gone when we came back after several years. Spend a little more money and go to another hotel. No longer the beautiful hotel it once was. Upon arriving you are greeted by storage containers holding who knows what. Parking lot full… Read more

Spend a little more money and go to another hotel. No longer the beautiful hotel it once was. Upon arriving you are greeted by storage containers holding who knows what. Parking lot full of pot holes and the fountian at the entrance of the lobby in dire need of some work Word in town at a local restaurant from someone who worked there was that the owner and management were terrible and didn't care about offering the quality of service this place once had. So So sad. Read less

Enjoyed out stay and want to come back. Love the view and the location to the marina and walking trail. We miss going to the restaurant and lounge, but hopefully soon we can come back and enjoy that. I was very worried about cleanliness, but it was good. Only one negative was we only had one regular coffee in the room in the morning. Staff… Read more
