Inn at Morro Bay

San Luis Obispo, California Coast

The hotel

Squeezed between Morro Bay and a golf course, this waterfront hotel’s taken over a whole patch of prime seaside real estate, giving you views of the bay and Morro Rock. Inside it’s dressed for the occasion, with nautical navy and white adding to its seaside flavour. Sitting on the edge of Morro Bay State Park, it’s midway between LA and San Francisco – something reflected by its popular 60 State Park Restaurant and Lounge, where the bay view draws you in, and the Central Coast cuisine makes sure you stay – whether you’re tucking into clam chowder in a sourdough bowl for lunch or the 60 State Park Burger for dinner. And, with its motel style, it’s made for those wanting to explore the region’s missions, wineries, beaches, and lighthouses, before relaxing on the pretty terrace with its pool and hot tub.

Arrived on a Friday night - the desk clerk was a bit short with the waiting customers but a woman who seemed to be the manager was very nice. The room is a bit dated ( stained carpet, some rotted wood on the railing) -needs some TLC and paint. Very cute cottage like setting with an attached restaurant. The room is a bit dated ( stained carpet, some rotted wood on the railing) -needs some TLC and paint. Very cute cottage like setting with an attached restaurant. There is an attached restaurant ; the Food was okay but overpriced. Paid over $100.00 for dinner with no appetizer and one glass of wine. Overall, could be a very beautiful gem sitting on the bay but for the high price and dated rooms- and no air conditioning- I don’t feel it provided a good overall for the price. Read less

The Inn at Morro Bay is a fantastic place at a wonderful location next to a bird sanctuary, with great views of the bay and its rock, a superb restaurant, and last but not least outstanding (!) personell. This venue is beautiful with large patio to view all of Morro Bay. The restaurant has a nice happy hour and the food is good. Unfortunately the housekeeping could do a better job. They didn’t clean the bathroom very well during our stay and hadn’t made up our room when we returned one day at almost 4:00 in the afternoon. Also they allow dogs in the entire complex which I fine unless you have a large dog jumping around in the middle of the night in the room directly above yours. Read less

Beautiful property, unique hotel room layout, and excellent customer service anywhere you go on the property. The hotel is just a couple of minutes down the road from the main street and harbor, and about a 20 minute drive to Montana de Oro State Park.

The last two times we have eaten at the Inn, the staff has not been particularly friendly or helpful. Also, our main complaint is the noise. It usually is so loud that we cannot converse with our dinner guests. Perhaps eating out on the patio would be a solution if it isn't too cold. The food has been mediocre.
