Inn at Morro Bay

San Luis Obispo, California Coast

The hotel

Squeezed between Morro Bay and a golf course, this waterfront hotel’s taken over a whole patch of prime seaside real estate, giving you views of the bay and Morro Rock. Inside it’s dressed for the occasion, with nautical navy and white adding to its seaside flavour. Sitting on the edge of Morro Bay State Park, it’s midway between LA and San Francisco – something reflected by its popular 60 State Park Restaurant and Lounge, where the bay view draws you in, and the Central Coast cuisine makes sure you stay – whether you’re tucking into clam chowder in a sourdough bowl for lunch or the 60 State Park Burger for dinner. And, with its motel style, it’s made for those wanting to explore the region’s missions, wineries, beaches, and lighthouses, before relaxing on the pretty terrace with its pool and hot tub.

I have been staying at the Inn at Morro Bay for 35 years. It's unique location within the state park make it so peaceful and relaxing. I always get a Bayview room and spend my time just looking at the peaceful waters and listening to the bird calls. One of my very favorite places to stay

No hot water and no one helped to resolve it! Still not sure if faucet is broke or on backwards! Love hotel over all and checking was the best but that off the cuff answer from staff was not acceptable!

Julie, the front desk lady who checked us in at approx 9pm, is Mrs. Personality. She was quite rude and condescending about our requests to both my fiance and I. She refused to even look into it, we just asked a simple can you please move us to another room. The Rooms Bay View description did not resemble the room we were in or paid for. Julie immediately said "no" didn't even look to see if there was another option and gave me a smart ass comment..." you can speak to the management in the morning" Also the room we were in had only two towels, no extra blanket or pillow and a VERY thin sheet/blanket on the bed. We were freezing. To top it all off we had to take a COLD SHOWER in the morning and SHARE A TOWELL because we had to use one the night before from a spill. There was NO HOT WATER and almost No Water pressure... VERY disappointed with this stay. I have stayed at this hotel numerous time and have never. I don't know if I will come back or even recommend this hotel anymore. It's really gone down hill Read less

Right on the harbor next to a wonderful bird sanctuary and easy access to a wonderful golf course. Great walking paths and close to downtown. Because of the pandemic, the bar and restaurant was closed but it's easy driving distance to town and access to restaurants.

The location of the hotel is great, it is in the entrance of a national park, next to a golf course, and has a great view of the Morro Bay. Rooms are ok and clean but a little pricy for a 3 star hotel.
