My party arrived at 5:30 on a Sunday and stayed until 8:30. Service was very good. We were compted three generous wine pours to help us choose our wine for the meal. It was sunset and the view was terrific, the restaurant situated on a bluff overlooking Morro Bay. The wine list featured mostly middle-grade wines offered at prices around 100% above retail. Decent wines are priced in the $30-40 range and $9-12 by the glass. I ordered prime rib, which came with a roll, salad/soup, accompanying vegetables and dessert. The roll was very poor and I didn't finish it; the mixed greens salad was good; everything else fairly ordinary. The scalloped potatoes were undercooked, the veggies consisted of steamed zucchini and yellow squash with a couple of cherry tomatoes; the prime rib was generous and very tender, but I was unable to obtain a rare cut even at 6 pm. The best they could offer was medium, despite the appearance in the accompanying photo. Dessert was an apple crumble, also undercooked and slightly burned around the edges. Go here for the view and for happy hour (2 pm-6 pm). They offer half off on all appetizers and $2 off on wine and beer. Beer is regularly priced at $5-6.) Read less

Inn at Morro Bay Morro Bay Inoperative Coffee Brewer 671904495 The room comes with a Keurig coffee maker. Checked in on Friday, woke up Saturday morning hoping for coffee, but was unable to make the brewer heat water. Very sketchy directions on the machine. Decided that it was broken. When I went out to find the closest Starbuck's, I stopped by the desk and reported the problem with the coffee maker. Returning to the room about two in the afternoon, the non-working coffee maker was still there. Stopped again at the front desk to inform them that the coffee maker had not been replaced and then again to Starbuck's. By the time I returned at four o'clock to dress for a group dinner, the coffee maker had been replaced. Went to dinner, my dinner companion, staying at the Inn as well, said her coffee maker produced one cup and then expired. Waking Sunday morning and hoping again for coffee, I was disappointed. The replacement coffee maker didn't work either. Upon checking out, complained to the desk clerk when asked about my stay. She made a remark that "I hear that all the time." Then she made some comment about how one is not supposed to use the power button??? What is that about? I suggested posting more complete instructions in the room. Her response was "I keep telling them that." I'm not stupid nor technically challenged, Also, while checking out, a few of my companions were there checking out as well. Complained of coffee maker problems, a room with no heat, a TV that didn't work, and some stomach ailments apparently connected to the previous night's group dinner in the hotel restaurant. Caveat emptor. Read less

There is a nice well heated pool and hot tub. The room was clean, had an iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. We could definitely here the people in the room next to ours, not very sound proof, but thankfully they were not loud for too long. The restaurant connected to the lobby offered amazing views of the bay and we enjoyed some great drinks and food. Would highly recommend. Read less

Had a special celebration lunch for our newly engaged young adults @ this restaurant over the weekend. The celebration started wet as our server, Janet, dropped the tray of mimosas on me, soaking my clothes, shoes, & pants. Thankfully, my hubby had a spare sweatshirt & I had brought a second pair of shoes which I changed into. Food was great. However, the first bill that was given to me was from another table. Taking the receipt 2 Janet, I told her I wanted a copy of the charge slip, even though I didn't sign it, but she said I didn't need a copy. I told her: "No, I always keep a copy of any receipt regardless if it's the correct one or not as I follow up & make sure my account is not charged." She reluctantly gave me the unsigned copy. She then gave me another bill, thinking it was the correct one AGAIN. The second receipt had Mac-n-Cheese on it, which none of the six adults ordered. I called it to her attention and said: "This isn't our receipt for our meal either." Janet again apologized, saying she didn't need to give me a copy of the wrong bill because "at the end of the night, all bills not signed just 'drop off'." I insisted, "No, I'm sorry. I want a copy of the second bill. I will be checking this as soon as I can get to my online banking." I then told her: "Before printing off another bill for me, let's stay right here and look @ the computer together to make sure it's the correct table and food for MY bill." She was flustered, so I proceeded to the font desk and asked to talk to a manager. Justine, the front desk clerk, took me back into the restaurant, where the bartender called the manager, telling me he'd be there shortly. Within five minutes, Peter Ruiz, the restaurant manager appeared. He apologized for the mixup & gave me his business card. I inquired about the previous two wrong bills, and he said they'd "fall off" the bill @ night's end when they closed the day's receipts, but if I had any problems to contact him. That was Saturday. Checked my online banking Saturday night and all three charges were "approved" by my bank. Checked my online banking Sunday; still all three charges were "approved and cleared" by my bank, meaning 60 State Park Restaurant had $250+ of my money in addition to the correct payment for our lunch. Today, Monday, I've left voice mails for Peter & spoken to Annette, Justine & Mya, and STILL have not gotten any help from anyone to rectify this matter. I asked for the Manager on duty since Peter was not in today, (which I wasn't told on my previous five phone calls), but Mya said the manager on duty also couldn't help me. Though we were not graced or credited ANYTHING for the tray dropping on me nor the two wrong bills charged to my credit card, I STILL gave Janet a 20% tip as I felt she was having a rough day, being the only server in the restaurant for eight tables & I could she was very nervous with all the errors she did for my particular group, HOWEVER, with the fiasco of the bill issue that's continued, I could not give this anything higher than the lowest possible rating but wish there was a zero or "Thumbs Down" rating possible! Sad because the view was nice & the food was tasty. Read less
