Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel

Santa Monica, Los Angeles

The hotel

Meet your LA home-from-home on the beach. Just a few short paces from Santa Monica Beach, and a sunny five-minute stroll from the world-famous Santa Monica Pier, this upscale address makes the very most of its awesome, face-tilted-to-the-sun location by creating as many links between the indoors and outdoors as possible. Rooms and suites are airy, spacious and have a simple elegance that evokes the beach with sandy tones and splashes of blue. Where possible, guests have ocean views and some even have private terraces or fire pits. The heated pool is deeply inviting and its deck commands sweeping ocean views, too. Every evening, meanwhile, the cosy Fireside Lounge takes the baton from the setting sun and casts its golden light on guests as they sip signature cocktails and sample mouthwatering tapas.

I live over the hill in the San Fernando Valley so I would not ever stay here except that my employer paid for a meeting onsite that ran over two days. So I spent one night in a room on the second floor, which turns out to be below the 4th floor main entrance level. The location is great, overlooking the ocean. The food supplied to our group was good and my room and all the meeting facilities all looked clean. Unfortunately I have the same complaint as someone who posted a comment on this site in March 2019, that being that the walkway stairs between the 4th floor and the second floor smelled like vomit. I do not know if it is some sort of cleaner that the hotel is using that is causing this, but for the price being charged for everything (e.g. $9 for an in room bottle of FIJI water) they need to fix this. Beautiful hotel in a great location. Great views. Spacious rooms. The commons areas can get a bit loud of their are conferences and they get out at the same time. The meeting rooms were nice. Excellent access to the beach.

And a hotel that is Super convenient to all attractions, this is the perfect spot. Close to the pier and close UBER ride to Venice. You will not be disappointed. Amazing atrium, with views of the ocean and convenient meeting rooms if you must.
