Kimpton Hotel Palomar Chicago

Chicago, USA

The hotel

Anyone wishing for a sophisticated and calming approach to accommodation in Chicago should look no further than the Palomar which rates guests' well-being and comfort levels just as seriously as the stylish interior décor. The hotel offers just that little bit extra with personalised in-room Yoga sessions on the TV or perhaps you would prefer an early morning jog? Of course, you don't have to jog to be able to enjoy the sights and guests staying at the Palomar will be pleased to learn that River North, Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile are all within walking distance. Further fabulous fitness facilities come in the form of the hotel's indoor heated swimming pool and 24-hour gym which are both guaranteed to help you work up an appetite just in time to check out the gastro-lounge dishes at the Sable Kitchen & Bar. What with in-room dining options and complimentary wine tasting sessions every day at 5.00pm, it's a wonder that you'll find the time to set foot outside however, it would be rude not to so this is your chance to give the Windy City a whirl.

We booked a suite so we could have extra space when they were asleep - and the layout was perfect with a small 'living room' area and bedroom with a door in between. From beginning to end, the service was amazing. Our room was beautiful and spotless. Initially the living space A/C wasn't working well (it was about 100F outside though!!). They came up right away to fix it. When we returned to our room there were cupcakes and a bottle of wine waiting for us because of our inconvenience (which really wasn't an inconvenience). Unfortunately, one of our boys got sick and went to the ER during our stay - the next day they brought balloons to our room to cheer him up. Above and beyond. Not to mention the morning coffee bar - with delicious iced coffee (when it was 95F+ outside!). The hotel was fully booked and we felt like their only guest. We will definitely make this our only hotel for our annual trip to Chicago!! Read less

The Palomar is terrific boutique hotel conveniently located close to shopping and restaurants. We stayed there when we were in Chicago for a wedding. We were given a room behind the elevator that initially caused us some concern until we realized it was very quiet. It was also a larger room than other rooms our friends had. The staff were very helpful and the hotel provides morning coffee and evening wine in the lobby, a nice touch we all enjoyed. There is a Starbucks a block away and a great Italian shop/restaurant Eataly nearby. Michigan avenue is a short walk. We would stay here again. Read less

I hardly rate a hotel “outstanding” but the Kimpton Palomar was. The location is close to Michigan Ave, Eataly (most importantly) and many other things. The service was impeccable. Everybody was smiling. No attitudes. The bellman was always smiling. They were always willing and able to help. The rooms were clean and in good condition. There is… Read more

Everybody was smiling. No attitudes. The bellman was always smiling. They were always willing and able to help. The rooms were clean and in good condition. There is ample work space. The air conditioning was cold. Housekeeping was prompt and did a great job. In the mornings there was tea and coffee available. The iced coffee is by far the best I’ve had (that seriously says a lot). I was hesitant to stay here since I have Hilton status but I was glad I did. My only complaint was there were a lot of families and it could get a bit loud. They provided amazing service on 4th of July weekend and that is impressive. Read less

The amenities were amazing, our view from our very spacious room was breathtaking and the staff went above & beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. All the staff always greeted you, had a smile on their face and answered all our questions. Our kids loved the pool & the hubby & I enjoyed the gym. We all agreed relaxing on the rooftop terrace was just what we needed after a long day of walking. Speaking of walking the hotel was in the perfect location for short walks to wherever you wanted to go. We will definitely be back again! Read less

The bathroom was amazing. Lots of counter space, fantastic shower with great water pressure. The staff was exceptional, I especially was impressed with our concierge. The location was central. A short walk to the River Walk and about a 15 minute walk to Millennium Park. We will definitely be back! Read less
