Hmmm, I was excited to stay here while on a business trip. I stayed for 3 night. I had higher expectations but I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. The space and modern bathroom was the only plus. Otherwise, the rooms looked dated. The paint was chipped here and there. I found stains on the walls. A popcorn and plastic from candy wrapper on the floor that was there before I arrived. There was a brown stain on the toilet that I had to ask housekeeping to come clean 2x and it wasn’t thoroughly gone until my last day. Being pregnant, I didn’t want to be exposed to diarrhea or some sort of virus while using the bathroom. The housekeeper was nice but didn’t not totally get the stain out with her little spray bottle. Then she wiped the toilet down with a rag and proceeded to use the same wrap to wipe down the bathroom floor which blew my mind. I told her how disgusting that was and asked to kindly get a new rag and re wipe the floors. I was really turned off and disgusted but had to block that out for the next 2.5 days of my stay. The breakfast buffet was cool but a bit over priced. Staff was very nice, however. The location of this hotel is perfect. You are walking distance from everything. Chicago is awesome and not wait to return. However, I will be sure to stay at the Aloft of Marriott as I have in the past. I will never recommend the Omni. Read less

Picked this hotel due to location and room quality. Central downtown location close to shopping bars and restaurants. Very good service from the bellboy to the room service. Rooms are big, clean, very functional, quiet with comfortable bed. Good bathroom, only shower could improve. Bar is OK, tasty bar food. Overall very good experience.

My stay in Chicago was basically a detour - I was simply extending the layover on my return trip after picking up my daughter from her camp in Minnesota. I'm not very familiar with Chicago so I looked around quite a bit for a hotel that would suit us. After checking several options, I saw that the Omni was located downtown, had two beds in separate areas, and was very well-priced. I didn't really know what to expect, but the website looked nice and Omni has a good reputation. And based on my stay, a well-earned one. The hotel is right off of Michigan Avenue, and within easy walking or cab distance from just about everything. The door and bell staff were friendly and helpful, and the front desk made checking in a breeze. The room itself was clean, spacious and quiet, and had a soothing atmosphere. My daughter ordered room service, which was brought up quickly and to-order. We also had a pizza delivered from Giordano's which is right down the street (along with several other nice restaurants). They brought it right to our door, but only after the front desk called us to make sure we had ordered it. I appreciated that little extra touch of security. Speaking of which, the main lobby is located on the third floor, well above street level. You may initially find this a bit confusing because the access elevator is not immediately obvious. I didn't mind, though, because it meant that only hotel guests and their friends/family would be in the hotel itself. As for the hotel, it is wood paneled and luxurious. The restaurant (on the 4th floor) has excellent food, although the menu is somewhat limited. I had the short ribs, which I'm still thinking about, and my daughter had off-menu mac-and-cheese, which was delicious. The waiter took very good care of us even though he had several other diners to look after. The bedroom was quiet and spacious, with plenty of room for both of us. My daughter had the main bedroom, and she seemed extremely comfortable. I took the sleeper in the sofa, which was fine. There was little traffic or other city noise (we were on the 17th floor), and I had no trouble getting to sleep. Finally, the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. They really made the stay enjoyable. They answered all my questions, and were courteous and professional in every respect. This seems to be an extremely well-managed hotel, and the entire experience was pleasant and stress-free from start to finish. tl;dr: I will definitely stay here again. Read less

The employees were beyond rude at check in. We asked for quiet room. The girl PURPOSELY put us next to elevator and pool. When we asked for a second room, she was annoyed and made us wait. ALL employees were disrespectful. Other guests were complaining too. Find somewhere else to stay. Lots of great places. This isn’t one

The Chicago Omni is a centrally located and beautiful hotel with excellent front desk and bellman service and an excellent restaurant. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. There is considerable noise from ambulances and police sirens in the middle of the night.
