Monaco Denver a Kimpton Hotel

Denver, Colorado

The hotel

Deep in downtown Denver, Hotel Monaco has got sports and sights, bars and boutiques, and eateries and entertainment in every direction. Transformed from two historic buildings into an up-to-the-minute urban pad, it promises those mod-cons and little indulgences that make a city break special. Each night, they lay on a complimentary wine reception and, before bed, there’s a ‘nightcap pairing’ waiting – perhaps port with a sweet treat? If that sounds a bit naughty, you can always atone at the complimentary 24-hour fitness centre. You might only be a walk from the restaurants of Victorian-era Larimer Square, and brew bars, clubs and dining of the LoDo district, but there’s dinner on your doorstep – at the hotel’s much-written about Denver dining spot Panzamo, featuring north Italian cuisine.

Checked in for a family weekend getaway with our Great Dane, Gracie. The staff is wonderful, especially Jared who took amazing care of us. Everyone made us feel at home and this hotel staff loves dogs. This is our 3rd stay here and we love it.

We came down to celebrate my husband's birthday. The location is great, just off the 16 Street Mall, about 5 blocks from Union Station. The room was super nice, with great bedding, a big frig for the champagne, and a big bathroom. Best of all was the restaurant in the hotel, Panzanos! The food was great, the service was even better, particularly Katie. She just rocked it, and made it a birthday party! Read less

Stayed in this hotel during my official tour to US. The hotel is good but require a bit of renovation. The rooms were big and clean but felt old. Bathroom, staff and service were great. The location was just fantastic on champa street. The very next street you have all the shops and free bus ride on 16th street. Very close and centrally located.

I've been a Kimpton member for over a decade. My best friend and I have been staying at Hotel Monaco in Denver for years! We have seen the transformations of the hotel from the decor to the services. The amenities and the perks (we still remember the gold fish!) and up until recently, it's been our "go-to" but my most recent stay will more than likely be my last. I booked my last room on the app 'Hotel Tonight' which I've used numerous times before and have never received the response given from Monaco. Not only did the woman checking me in act completely put out, but she referenced more than once that "Because I booked with Hotel Tonight....." She treated my friend and I like we weren't really guests of the hotel and we didn't really deserve to be there. Ironically, I had used the same app the week before at The Art and not only was their customer service top notch, they provided an upgrade and there was no mention of how the room was booked. The way I see it, if Kimpton doesn't want reservations to be made through 3rd parties, they shouldn't participate. Or better yet, they should develop an app that makes booking directly with them as easy as it is on Hotel Tonight. Read less
