On this trip, I want to particularly thank Brian W...he was beyond accommodating and as I told the staff, he made me feel like a VIP! I had a bag delivered for me for work that was critical and he personally made sure it was safe and secure and then readily available when I arrived. He greeted me personally with my bag, let me know a package had arrived for me and was beyond helpful to make sure my stay was second to none. I have stayed at many 5 star resorts around the world and if there were more employees like Brian W we would all be lucky!! Thank you Brian, I hope you are recognized as employee of the year because you deserve it and I so appreciate you! Read less

Birthday weekend with my bestie! Parking was easy - and $10 for our overnight stay. Deluxe Suite was beautiful and roomy, front desk was so helpful and set up bedding for the couch-bed. Lots of options for dinner in Uptown, easily walkable and a quick Uber to some awesome spots more downtown. Everyone we encountered on property was kind and… Read more

Not a 4 star hotel by any means. The room I had must have had an old mattress. It did not have the standard pillow top from Westin. ( I know what they should be, I travel 1 to 2 nights a week). The sheets and pillow cases had soooo much starch. And they were wrinkled by the irons so felt bumpy. The comforter was picked and worn. One of the towels… Read more

The other was dingy and not soft at all. The room was clean. The staff was all very nice. The highlight for me was breakfast at Todd English downstairs. I had the French toast and bacon. It was amazing!!!!! Read less

After a very long drive, it was nice to be able to come down from the room and walk across the street for food. The Westin Birmingham was comfortable, but not nearly as nice as other Westin properties. It felt like a decent, 3-star experience. Our check-in took forever because only one person was working the desk, shower had visible mold, and wine glasses were dirty and had something crusted on them. Room was dusty. Nothing dramatically wrong, bed was… Read more

Our check-in took forever because only one person was working the desk, shower had visible mold, and wine glasses were dirty and had something crusted on them. Room was dusty. Nothing dramatically wrong, bed was comfy enough, but not what I’d expect from a 4 star hotel. Parking is a pain and costs $10, without even going in and out for the day...for this quality/service level I’d stick with a Hampton Inn or at least find somewhere that has free coffee. Read less
