I spent two nights recently at this Hampton, and these are my quick observations: 1. The location is excellent. It is within walking distance of everything: the Rosa Parks Museum, the baseball stadium, the riverfront and Visitor Center, the Capital, the Freedom Riders Museum, Deamland BBQ, Chris' Hot Dogs, and much more. The longest walk was to the Lynching Museum, and that was 10-12 minutes. A Mellow Mushroom is directly across the street. 2. The Hotel is a remodel of an older hotel, and is therefore more attractive than the typical Hampton Inn. The lobby is very pretty. 3. The breakfast faree was plentiful, and, with smoothies and a daily baked item, much better than most Hampton breakfasts. The fruit was somewhat bland. 4. This Hotel is more expensive than most other Hamptons, but the location is key. I could not find any of the supposed cheap prices displayed on Trip Advsisor. 5. I used the valet parking, but I would look for free street parking or find a lot. There is paid parking behind the Mellow. 6. The staff was friendly, especially the doormaen. Read less

Great location. Friendly helpful staff. they want me to write a minimum of 20 characters but I would only nit-pic which is not my desire. This hotel just needs a make-over and a little TLC with each room.

I would like to start of by stating there were several discrepancies while staying at this hotel that turned what would have been a peaceful weekend into a stress filled catastrophe simply due to the incompetence of the staff at this hotel mixed with the appalling state of both rooms we stayed in (room 208 and room 1006). I would also like to state the fact That the reason for our stay at this hotel was due to the recent passing away of our dear grandmother. During this hard time for our family the hotel and it’s staff proceeded to give us the last two rooms available one handicap and the other not and explained to us that those were the only two rooms left even though we had booked these rooms ahead of time with a qualified travel specialist. Upon entering room 208 we noticed the ac was not working which in the heat of Alabama was quite inconveniencing. As well as the light bulbs in our room not working we had the awful experience off our toilet backing up everywhere. For roughly 300 dollars a night I would have higher expectation for a hotel that has this much foot traffic in and out. In room 1006 our first experience was arriving in the room we had to wait almost an hour and a half to get a power cord that was missing to which just escalated more miserable experiences such as our shower turning into a river while showering the water temperature scorching my skin and practically picking whatever temperature it wanted. Also the light above the shower occasionally worked the sink would none stop dripping and then finally getting hit in the head by a non secure handicap fixture that neither worked nor was secured properly. This is the absolute most appalling hotel I have ever been to not to mention when reaching out to the staff about these situation they seemed not to care one bit. I would especially like to make a shout out to Christine who had mentioned she has been working there for 17 years apparently could not discount us for these terrible experiences and her solution was relocating and inconveniencing us after dealing with our grandmothers funeral all day she suggested we move ourselves into another room with no help from the hotel staff. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and if there are problems with rooms you should not make them available to the public Christine who has been working there for 17 years you should not be working in a customer service background if you are not going to facilitate the customer concerns. This was a horrible time in our lives made even more horrible by this hotel...... do not stay here. The hotel has 100% guarantee that was never implemented. Read less

This stay was a family trip to a concert. The hotel was convenient to concert venue. Central to many other establishments for food and entertainment. The parking was excellent and the concierge took great care of us.

The staff was welcoming & helpful always greeted with a smile and asked if there was anything I needed or if they could help me in any way. The hotel is in a great location for taking in the City of Montgomery with a good selection of restaurants all within walking distance.
