Loews Atlanta Hotel

Atlanta, Georgia

The hotel

In the middle of Midtown, Loews Atlanta isn’t just in the heart of the city’s attractions – it’s also swept up in its spirit as a vibrant urban enclave. This means you get contemporary comforts and creative twists on classic hotel offerings. It starts, of course, with complimentary WiFi throughout; but they’ve also upped the spa ante, with the ancient-meets-modern therapies at exhale Spa, kept up with the Joneses with their sleek modern guestrooms, and redefined casual dining at their eatery. Saltwood Charcuterie & Bar is more than a hotel restaurant, it’s a dining experience – with its skilled chefs delicately assembling rustic boards with hand carved meats, artisan breads, cheeses, pickled vegetables, and other accompaniments as you watch on from your bar stool with a cocktail or craft microbrew in hand.

This is my second stay at the hotel, which is definitely my favorite when visiting Atlanta and specifically midtown Atlanta. The location is amazing among a vibrant relatively new development adding to the skyline and atmosphere of midtown Atlanta. The rooms are modern, spacious, and clean with nice bathrooms. Many of the rooms have great views of the city or piedmont park. The lobby area is very open, modern, and stylish. The bar is great with very talented bartenders, and the attached restaurant has great breakfast and lunch (I did not try dinner). The cheese grits are amazing, and my friend who loves charcuterie could not get enough of their charcuterie platters (which are part of their buffets as well). The spa and gym are top notch. In fact, several of my friends who live in Atlanta have memberships at the gym because it’s much nicer than local area gyms. The staff is always very friendly. Tyler, the front office manager, was amazing during check-in and facilitating my room upgrade, and they have a texting service if you have any issues, which is great for someone who doesn’t like to be on the phone like me. I used the courtesy vehicle several times during my stay for short trips. It’s particularly helpful when going to the train station which is just a couple blocks away, but with your luggage is a bit more of a hassle. I also used the vehicle to go to a couple local restaurants and local sites during my stay this year and last year. An added bonus is that they are a member of the American express fine hotels program. If you are going to Atlanta and would like to be in the midtown area, I think this is the best overall hotel for someone who likes clean, modern style. I would say the closest competitor with regard to style and ambience is the nearby W Midtown, but this is far superior overall in my opinion. Read less

Great place for a meeting. The rooms were very spacious and the bed and bedding were very nice. We took the hotel shuttle to the aquarium. That was a nice get away prior to the start of the meeting. Great place to eat right around the corner - Café Intermezzo. Fabulous desserts.

This was our first time staying at Loews hotel, and I feel seriously misled by their marketing. Their brand image is that of a luxury hotel, but Loews Atlanta is certainly not that. This was our first time staying at Loews hotel, and I feel seriously misled by their marketing. Their brand image is that of a luxury hotel, but Loews Atlanta is certainly not that. We arrived in a taxi at 9.00 pm and there was no bellboy to help with luggage. There was also no bellboy to take us to our room. Of course, we had trouble with the electronic key. Our room is a decent size, with a good bed, but certainly not luxurious. We went for a nightcap, but the lobby bar was so loud, with masses of party animals, that we could not even have a conversation. Our room was not made up today, despite having been out from 9 am to 5 pm. The only saving grace has been a wonderful concierge, Brenda, who pointed us the direction of a great day out in Atlanta. Asked for my email so I could get my folio. Never received but got marketing emails. Extremely noisy at 3 am. Drunk door slamming guests. Poor service at bar. Pluses - nice room. Very comfortable bed. Very nice health club. Overall - very mediocre value for the money.
