They set me up for success during the trip. I was also accommodated by Nuns and Jay who were extremely helpful throughout the weekend. The hotel staff sent an arrangement of pastries and champagne to my room during my stay. They also gave coupons for drinks at the bar during my stay. My room was upgraded to a corner suite. I’m a happy camper and am starting to look at this hotel brand closer. 😀😍 Read less

I stayed here on business for a week. The location of the hotel was fine for us, close to the Congress centre and some restaurants nearby. When I entered my room, first reaction was it was dark....but it was fine, the dark woods probably added to it. Two good size double beds (I was alone but I know this is standard). Bathroom was fine, complimentary toiletries were nice, shower in the bath, again fine. Ironing board, hairdryer - all fine and useful. I noticed complimentary earplugs on my nightstand which I thought was a nice touch - little did I know it was because of the sound of the lifts that seemed to get louder if you stayed in a higher floor (according to my colleagues). The big negative aspect for me was that the bed was way way too soft, it was like sleeping on a marshmallow, too soft for me. My colleagues all said there’s were the same so there was no point in asking to change rooms. As I have neck and back issues I need to sleep on a harder bed, so I slept on the room floor every night for a week ( I know I should’ve said something!). I made myself a little makeshift bed out of the 8 pillows in my room and slept on them and the duvet - not ideal but it was fine. Every morning I put everything back...why I don’t know but I’m British haha. All the staff were lovely to me. I did watch one receptionist getting what I would call verbal abuse from a guest and bless her, she just calmly took it. It made me really uncomfortable to witness such disgusting behaviour towards another human. Awful. Anyway if you love a soft bed then stay there, but for me the noisy lifts and the bed meant I wouldn’t choose to stay there if I ever returned to Atlanta. Read less

Jan 4-5...worse oart at the bottom Not what a W should be. If your are staying on weekends, its a PARTY HOTEL, very small lobby is loud and bar was full. arrived as walk in, staff recommended me to book through a website because rate was higher as walk in. Asked for the price i was saving around $10, not sure why they cant adjust that or compliment rather than direct and pay another hotel site. Anyways, 2 absurd policies.....$200 down deposit for my stay! And next to them was a paper contract for a weekend deposit of $500... its crazy, i guess that was for younger party people in the lobby. First room 8th floor, absurdly small, dirty carpet with brown and white stains, sofa 2 inches from bed, yes 2 inches from bed and windows had stains, and lastly furniture was chipped, used, shower glass was marked and stained, it truly felt like a party room, not a W. We asked for a change or upgrade at my cost, they changed me for the same room but more spacious. This next room was way better, although a bit worn out on furniture overall was good. Not so great, signs next to bed that read “you break it, you pay it”. Lastly, i went up to the 16 floor, to see thr great pinterest pool and view. What was that for? It was closed but there where easily 15-20 kids that looked like minors in the bar area and out in the pool chairs hanging out. Those outside smoking weed as i smelled when door opened. Where was security and control??! Down in the lobby taking selfies and having a facebook live dancing and singing with receptionist. As they told me in check in....its always a party in here. W Atlanta Downtown Junior Suite with a sweet view! W Atlanta Downtown Junior Suite with a sweet view! By Tehirah I'm hooked!! First let me say that I read a lot of reviews for this hotel, so I was a little on the fence whether I wanted to stay here or not. But after 15 different reservations & cancellations (I'm a bit indecisive), I decided to take the chance and go with what my gut was telling me to do. And let me say that I was very happy! So the hotel had negative reviews about parking, food & snack bar costs, dated rooms & rude front desk personnel & I will address each one. 1. Valet parking is $40/nt. Yes....that is a lot, however, that's pretty much what you will pay at any hotel downtown no matter the star or category. The valet personnel was nice, friendly & I absolutely loved how they displayed my car when I needed it. I didn't have issues dropping off my car or getting it, so that was a plus. 2. They have an over the top snack bar. Anything you need, is pretty much right there. Is it expensive.....yes! But it's convenient, so that's what you're paying for. If you don't want convenience....then bring your own snacks! As for room service.....I had a very delicious burger with fries, chocolate cake & ice cream all for $40. I was full & it was a lot so I feel it was worth it. Again.....you're paying for convenience but it was also good. I personally wanted a hotel with room service so that I didn't have to leave if I didn't want to. My only complaint about room service, was whoever did my food the second day, did not put the same amount of love in the presentation as the night before. I even had to ask where my whip cream was! But the deliverer happily went back to retrieve it for me! 3. I'm going to address the room last.....so the front desk was extremely nice. In fact, Ashley did something extremely special for me that made my stay even more worth it! I won't say what it was because I don't want readers to expect the same thing. But I was very lucky that I went to the front desk vs using my mobile key entry. I had to give her a big hug! Now the best part is the room. I will admit that there were signs of wear & tear. A few stains here & there, but that did NOT take away from everything else that was amazing about the room. First of all, I was blown away by my view! From many angles & including the bathroom.....there was a view! And waking up to it was even better! The room was a nice size, clean, the decor was also nice & my bed was comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful as well. I had no complaints. I saw people complain about the lack of privacy in the shower, I was looking forward to it because that is sexy when you're on a romantic getaway! O would agree that this hotel is not a kids choice because they did provide the room with condoms & lube if needed! Lol Anyway, I stayed in room 920. & When I return, I hope I can always stay in that room, that's how much I loved it! They will be renovating the hotel this year, so I can only imagine how much better it will be! Thank You W Atlanta Downtown for an amazing stay! I wish I could post more pics! Read less

This is the 3rd time I've stayed at this hotel in as many years and I'm always left with the same impression; it's just a little better than OK. It's very centrally located and has all of the components of a luxury hotel, but it is not very well executed and the service leaves much to be desired in all areas. It's dark with purples and slate grays and ostentatiously decorated as if Morticia herself did it. Be advised that the real W hotel experience begins above the pool level. The rooms below can be found in any low level chain. There are some good features like the silhouette shower wall and ability to close off the toilette, but the beds are low to the ground, short and just not very comfortable. There is always a lot going on in the lobby bar if you like music and mingling, but if they really want to be seen as a luxury hotel, they should work on elevating service and responsiveness to that level.
