W Atlanta Buckhead

Atlanta, Georgia

The hotel

W Atlanta does things differently. Dressed in the latest designer gear, from bold statement furniture to funky light fittings, it lives up to W Hotels’ hip and slick image. But it’s not all style and no substance; it’s also seconds from Atlanta’s famous Peachtree Street – in fact, you’ll see it as you swim in the infinity edge rooftop pool or dine on the patio of cool and contemporary Cook Hall. Rubbing shoulders with Atlanta’s best retail spots, from Lenox Square Mall to Phipps Plaza Mall, you may find lugging shopping bags is all the exercise you need but, if not, W Atlanta’s fitness centre is open 24/7. And, when you want somewhere to show off your new purchases, you can always dress to impress and head up to the ‘mod-meets-70s glamour’ of its Whiskey Blue Atlanta bar and terrace.

My sister and I, along with our 2 year old Siberian Husky, went on a "staycation" to the W in Buckhead. We only stayed for one night but had SUCH a great time! We definitely aren't used to hotels above 3 stars (we're more of a Holiday Inn family lol) but wanted to splurge a little on our night out. Although we were embarrassingly awkward about valet, staff helping us with our bags, and pretty much everything else, they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Peyton helped us at checkin from valet up to our room with our bags and gave us great information about the hotel and amenities. He also helped us with our luggage the next morning and we were so happy to see him again. He had a great attitude & interacted professionally with other guests while he was helping us. Another person I wanted to mention was Thaddeus. He gave my pup so much love (and couple delicious treats) and was even excited to see her the next morning. The way to my heart is by loving my dog, and I am honestly excited to stay at the W again because of this. The room, location, and everything else was great of course, but I have worked in customer service a long time and know that a business can't thrive without great staff members. That's why I wanted to point out the two that made our trip above and beyond! Read less

We traveled to Atlanta to do a little site seeing and go to the Braves Phillies game and choosing the W Buckhead was a great decision. The hotel decor is stylish and the staff is very helpful. One of the best features is the location which is next to the Lenox Mall where my wife and daughter enjoyed shopping. The hotel is also close to Marta the train which we used to go downtown for site seeing. The Suntrust stadium for the Baseball game was an Uber ride away. So the location is convenient. The pool was really nice and overlooked the street several stories above. The bar on the roof was awesome with spectacular views of downtown and the foothills. The best part of the hotel was the staff who were super friendly and helpful. Especially finding my daughters stuffed animal. If you are looking for a hotel that has great service and attention to detail stay at the W Buckhead. We plan to comeback again for a Falcons game and more site seeing. Read less

This swanky modern hotel was too "boutique" for my taste. There was no way to adjust shower water temp without getting half your body wet before you were ready (who wants to stand in cold water waiting for it to warm up?), bathroom sink backed up. Lobby filled with partying 20-somethings. Read less

Great location in Buckhead with fancy clean modern rooms and a LIT rooftop lounge and bar on Fridays & Saturdays ... but pool is just way too small. Valet for $40. Only valet option, no self park. Good hotel if you can get it for a deal and don’t care about relaxing by the pool.

I haven’t been to a W in over 10 yrs. It stayed true to its brand. The hotel bar was pretty busy on a Tuesday night. The room decor was original and the room was clean. It’s in the luxury category but I wouldn’t say it felt super luxurious not to the level of a Ritz Carleton. The price was great though and the food at the cook hall was quite good… Read more

It’s in the luxury category but I wouldn’t say it felt super luxurious not to the level of a Ritz Carleton. The price was great though and the food at the cook hall was quite good - I had yogurt and fresh fruit with homemade granola. Plus a drink and a salad at the bar. The service was good too. Many people coming to see if was ok. I had ordered bathroom slippers and had to call twice. They put sugar in my cappuccino and I hadn’t asked for that - too sweet. I should have known when I asked for one, the girl asked what flavour. Read less
