We called to complain, they said that was the biggest bed in the hotel. 10 min later we turn on the tv, it’s not working. We were told that other guess had complained and someone would be up to check on it. No one ever came. Saturday afternoon the tv begins to work. Our entire stay, there was this constant knocking. No one knew what we were talking about. Leaving one night we ran into a maintenance person who said it was the plumbing. The parking lot was a complete mess and took us forever to get out of due to construction. You go up an aisle to get out and have to back out because it’s closed off. There is 1 microwave in the whole hotel that you had to wait in line to use. On checkout day, we were charged twice!!! This was more than enough!!! My anniversary was a big disappointment needless to say. We weren’t given points or compensated in anyway. The staff acted as if they knew nothing. I wrote a review with the hotel directly with them responding by saying “ sorry your stay wasn’t pleasant, we will strive to do better next time”. There will not be a next time Read less

Never any explanation of why there was no valet parking offered. Check in was lengthy (not sure why it was taking so long to get people checked in), but each check-in line was 3 parties deep! Annoying. We finally get to our room (we were placed in a handicapped room and we didn't request nor are we handicapped), and there was a strange lack of furniture in the room. Wide open spaces with literally 10' x 8' of space with no furniture. And there was only 1 mirror in the room, which was small and over the sink in the small bathroom. No full length mirror in the room. The room also felt like it needed a complete overhaul of carpets, upholstery, etc. We would have asked for another but we were pressed for time to get to a dinner with friends. Food service the next morning was, again, slow! PLEASE go elsewhere if you are staying in Midtown as our experience was dismal. Read less

I stay at this hotel often. The location is quite good (close to Piedmont park, and walking distance to many restaurants and bars). The rooms are just OK, and it is NOT worth it to upgrade here as the suites are blah at best. The staff is generally nice and the rates are generally reasonable relative to the other high-end hotels in this neighborhood. The main drawback is the the threadbare frills during these "covid" times. I know the virus is real (I've had it), but the cutbacks here do nothing to protect customers from covid. SOme examples: 1. All minibars have been removed from the room. How does this make us safer? 2. No magazines in room. 3. No do not disturb door signs (really? it has been proven that we are not passing covid in this way). 4. Spa is not open. Perhaps this is the most understandable downgrade, but there are many other hotels with open spas. 5. The biggest gripe is the food. I stay here every month or so and made the mistake of ordering room service. Everything is delivered in styrofoam containers. No real coffee pots, no flatware, no real condiments, etc. So, on this visit, I decided to have breakfast in the hotel "living room" which is open and serving food. No, the food is also delivered in styrofoam containers here. REAL PLATES AND GLASSWARE ARE NOT COVID SUPERSPREADER VEHICLES. This is absurd. It's not the end of the world, but I will not dine within this hotel until they reinstate real food service. This hotel is OK, and I've tried to be reasonable during covid end times, but some of these are easy fixes. Savvy customers realize that some of this stuff is just performative virtue signaling, and that none of these changes have done a thing to increase "safety". Instead, it just devalues the experience of staying at the hotel. Bad move. Read less

Planned to visit the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for the day and enjoy a romantic dinner nearby. the Hotel is a high rise and we requested a high floor overlooking Piedmont park. We were placed on the 18th floor and the room had floor to ceiling windows so the view was awesome. The lobby is spectacular and leads into a huge seating area with bar. There was a dj at night but only until 11pm. The room was basic with a king sized bed and barn door leading to a modern bathroom with half glass shower door. The entire hotel was decorated in dark, moody colors which made it feel very intimate but the lighting was too dark for applying makeup. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I would recommend a visit. This is a Marriott property so we used our points for the stay. PS there were no plastic or glass cups in the room so bring your own if you want to drink. Read less

My wife and I ran up for a night away from the kids to stay here as we have multiple times. This was our first time at theMidtown location since they renovated the hotel. At first glance we loved the inside, not too mention the small sitting space under the lobby stairs as a great place to enjoy a few cocktails. That said, it was nice to see they were serving food in the bar area, as well as having a bar open at all. We opted for a Fantastic Suite. While the room was nice and spacious, all the frills. of the suite were removed. Nothing in the bar area such as snacks or if memory recalls, even a coffee maker. There were some light toiletries and two plastic cups in the restroom! That was all we had for us to use to make our own drinks. The view was great, but I won't be paying over $400 bucks for a suite with no frills, not even a magazine. Additional minor irritations included weak water pressure, a shower that was incredibly slow to drain even after cutting the water off, as well as an no ice machine on our floor. (at least we were left an ice bucket) They used to have five working elevators before the renovation, but now maybe only four; however, on this Friday night and Saturday morning, only one elevator was operational...not good. In one final gripe, their valet staff proved why we never leave anything important in our cars. Shortly after leaving the hotel, my wife and I found items from our glove box in the driver side door compartment. Guess whomever didn't like the extra lug nuts in a manilla closed folder. I called the manager to let know, but I'm sure it didn't go much further. In summation, we love the W brands, but Midtown has got to step up their game to justify me spending our money on an expensive no frills room! Hope they get it together sooner rather than later, as we'd like to head back soon. Read less
