Really loved the overall decor of the hotel and the rooms. Plenty of seating all over and Great Wall art for photo ops. Had a 2 queen bed room that had ample space and a very loud Bluetooth speaker that my friends and I put to use all weekend. The pool area looked great but the weather was not ideal for swimming in October and the pool is not heated. The gym had ample equipment and enough space to workout while keeping a safe distance. Coffee & Tea is complimentary in the morning, location is well situated to get wherever needed around the city and walkable to many restaurants & nightlife. Read less

We stayed on a Sat and Sun night for a weekend getaway. At over $200 per night we expected better. The "King" bed was absolutely NOT a king size. We have a king at home and the bed at the hotel was quite noticeably smaller, both in width and length. We have a king at home and the bed at the hotel was quite noticeably smaller, both in width and length. I questioned this and the front desk stated that all rooms are king size beds unless they are two queens. Well, I can tell you that whatever standard they are using to call it a king is most definitely not what I have seen at other hotels. Other issues we ran into: 1) The sink backed up and would not drain well 2) The trendy square sink is so shallow that water splashed everywhere anytime you tried to use it. 3) The sheets on the bed were very rough and the bed was barely made when we arrived. Housekeeping apparently couldn't be bothered to use a fitted sheet for the mattress. Instead they used a flat sheet and the sheet wasn't not even tucked under the mattress to hold it in place. We basically had to tear the bed down and remake it ourselves before sleeping in it the first night. 4) The TV signal went out multiple times on Sat night for over an hour. C'mon man, you are supposed to be a nice hotel, invest in quality equipment. The service was overall pretty good but the issues with the room overshadowed the employee service. We won't be staying at the W Midtown again when we stay in Atlanta. Read less

The room was a delight. As I entered the room there was a plater of peanuts and a coke (there's a connection between the two that dates back to the great depression). Also on the coffee table of the room was some fitness equipment that you could use IN your room, versus heading down to the gym. I did check out the gym and pool area, it was too… Read more

Also on the coffee table of the room was some fitness equipment that you could use IN your room, versus heading down to the gym. I did check out the gym and pool area, it was too cold for a swim last weekend, but I was able to try out a Peloton ride. The W Atlanta - Midtown has two Peloton bikes, which I've never seen before in a hotel fitness center! I really had no excuse to leave the hotel but it's in such close proximity to Piedmont Park and Colony Square. All in all I had a lovely staycation with a girlfriend. I plan to come back in November and bring my family. Read less

Booked W Midtown for a friend's birthday staycation. I've stayed a dozen times or more at this hotel, but this was the first stay after its new renovation. Everything was gorgeous. A little over-the-top in some areas, but that's on brand for a W. The Welcome Desk staff, Engineering, and Valet were great. More attentive than usual, but likely… Read more

Unfortunately we had an appointment that required us to visit Atlanta during the hight of Covid-19. We chose to visit the W based on their Covid-19 policies and precautions outlined on their website. Upon arriving at the hotel we noticed that not all of the guest were wearing face coverings. Check in was not contactless. We were asked to sign a credit card hold disclosure and offered a pen that was used by the guest in front of us. Additionally we we required to use the pin pad on the credit card machine and it was not sanitized in between customers. Although there were a number of elevators, the hotel did not enforce limiting it to members of the same party and allowed six guest on the elevator at a time. There was absolutely no way to social distance and again masks were not responsibly enforced. There were so many guest we tried waiting for 10 minutes to grab an elevator for ourselves, letting multiple groups ahead of us until we realized that we would be there all night if we didn’t just go. We were on the 19th floor, so the stairs were not an appealing option. We stayed on a Friday night and the hotel was very busy. Mostly young adults that were obviously having parties in their hotel rooms and on multiple floors. Our floor and the one above us was VERY loud until about 3 am. The shower and sink backed up when the water was running and the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Our room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. It was genuinely a disappointment. Read less
