Andaz Savannah

Savannah, Georgia

The hotel

All the grace and elegance you’d expect is at the Andaz, but it’s met by an upbeat urban twist, with city traveller essentials like complimentary WiFi, 24-hour fitness facilities, a central spot near Savannah River, and chic dining and drinking spaces. It brings farm-to-fork creations to the table at 22 Square, its ‘old South’ meets ‘new South’ restaurant, which is accompanied by the 22 Square Bar, whose modern takes on classic cocktails let you try new flavours alongside local musts like the Mint Julep. Every weekend afternoon, the Terrace Bar serves up its own signature cocktails, best sipped around the fire pit, in one of the intimate nooks or poolside cabanas, or just taking in the city view.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Not a 4 star hotel

Jul 2, 2020 Hannah B Atlanta, Georgia

I reserved this hotel because of the great reviews of service and the 4 star rating. This was not even close to a 4 star hotel. Poor service, sub par amenities. Felt much more like a holiday inn (which isn’t a bad hotel, but is marketed as a 2 or 3 star so you have expectations that align with that rating). Room was adequate. Location was… Read more

Felt much more like a holiday inn (which isn’t a bad hotel, but is marketed as a 2 or 3 star so you have expectations that align with that rating). Room was adequate. Location was convenient but there were plenty other nicer hotels in the area. Will not be visiting this chain of hotels again. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Nice location but lacks customer service

This hotel is conveniently located in the historic district, a lot of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. I understand it’s during the pandemic and they might be short staffed, but the front desk was clearly overwhelmed: long line and people crowding the lobby, not a good look. I understand it’s during the pandemic and they might be short staffed, but the front desk was clearly overwhelmed: long line and people crowding the lobby, not a good look. Plus, some staff were wearing masks and some weren’t. The room was small but nice, things appeared to be clean. Was not recognized as a Hyatt loyalty member at all throughout the stay. Will probably try another hotel if we visit Savannah again. Read less

This hotel has the Andaz boutique charm, right in the heart of Savannah. The room was gorgeous and clean. When we visited, the hotel was still at low occupancy and the front desk misrepresented that there was open food service. However, the GM helped us find breakfast nearby the next morning which was very nice. The hotel was not perfect for me as the staff should all know what’s going on, especially at a property of this level. That is the fault of management. However, these are difficult times and the GM fixed the issues to the best of her abilities, which made this overall still a very good stay. We will likely revisit and try this hotel again when things fully reopen. Read less

The only issue we had was at check in... the lady working could not find out reservation & then after she found it, she told us we had to pay when it paid for in advance. It took a period of several minutes just finding proof of payment & her having to use our phone to view the payment & reservation. Then the room we received had stains on the… Read more

It took a period of several minutes just finding proof of payment & her having to use our phone to view the payment & reservation. Then the room we received had stains on the floor... having pets we switched rooms as we did not want to get blamed. This all took over an hour of our time causing us to miss opportunities for dinner at restaurants. Also, valet gave us a hard time being parked in front when loading & unloading & we felt we were an inconvenience to them. Once we got settled in, everything was great. Just had higher expectations for a four star hotel. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Even in COVID times, needs work

For example, the hotel proudly boasts on their website that every room has complimentary mini-bar items consisting of non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Neither of these were present. Instead, you had to go downstairs to request water and the only snacks available were those for purchase. Walls are paper thin to where you can hear EVERYTHING outside. Tiny rooms (no desks, just a small round table and some chairs). The worst part was all throughout the night, like clockwork every 45 seconds or so, there was a loud toilet flush/cycle, causing me to stay up the entire night. I will not be returning to this hotel.
