Doubletree Hotel Savannah Historic District

Savannah, Georgia

The hotel

One of Savannah’s most contemporary hotels, but you’ll still find the old Southern charm and, of course, Historic District location that have made DoubleTree by Hilton Savannah Historic District a long-time favourite. The modern makeover’s evident the minute you enter the lobby, with cheerful pops of blue, purple and yellow set off against a sophisticated, and very ‘now’, muted grey backdrop. This theme continues in the renovated guest rooms, and even on the sun deck, with its pool and hot tub screened from downtown Savannah’s buzz. But returning guests will be glad to hear you’re still welcomed with a chocolate chip cookie, and they’ve kept popular attractions like the ultramodern gym, relaxed Ryan’s Pub, and Southern-inspired dishes and hospitality of Ryan’s Bistro.

Clean and comfortable, nice staff, in walking distance to river front and historic district but street noise can be a problem and ship fog horns sound during the wee hours. Clean and comfortable, nice staff, in walking distance to river front and historic district but street noise can be a problem and ship fog horns sound during the wee hours. There's a reason the hotel leaves a white noise generator and ear plugs in the room. In addition, the window of our second floor room actually looked directly into the pool which was pretty weird. Desk staff said that actually the pool deck provided us with extra noise insulation. No worries anyway because it was 45 degrees and no one was swimming. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was tasteless. Read less

Room was nice and clean, employees were cordial, polite and courteous. Didn't expect to pay for parking which was way overpriced ($32 for one night) and didn't know what it was till i got my bill through email.

9 months in hotels is not easy, buy the staff at this Savannah double tree have made it a great stay. Through a hurricane and closing of the city to my crazy schedule, they rock! 100%. Special thanks to Kelsey, for being such a great person and making a wonderful atmosphere every day!
