Hotel Indigo Savannah Historic District

Savannah, Georgia

The hotel

Not satisfied with just being amid the history of Savannah, Hotel Indigo is part of it. Housed in the Guckenheimer, a red-brick corner building which first debuted in the 1850s, this boutique hotel’s had something of a renaissance. Its 19th century shell cloaks modernised interiors, where bespoke murals cover walls and plush rugs dress hardwood floors. It may feel like they’ve been given the key to a designer magazine’s stock room, but Hotel Indigo hasn’t lost its Southern charm. It’s the first thing that greets you at Five Oaks Taproom, closely followed by local Georgia beer and farm-fresh food. Nicknamed ‘Grand Lady of the Bay’ by locals, if you fancy dining out, you’re just a block from City Market and River Street.

With all the craziness of the coronavirus, the hotel did a fabulous job at keeping things clean and organized. The hotel is centrally located, valet parking and all of the essentials. The bar/restaurant was good for drinks and lite apps. We appreciate the staff being so courteous and keeping thing running smooth. We will be back for sure! Read less

Save yourself the trouble and find another hotel. This place is infested with ants. I had ants crawling all over my room and it was absolutely disgusting. I complained to the manager about it all they could do was provide free breakfast. Absolutely joke. This place needs work. Never again!!

Friendly staff, starting with Charlie at the valet stand upon arrival; he was always smiling and helpful during entire stay. Front desk staff were also friendly and inviting. AC was out in our meeting room which was a big negative with zero communication about it during our two-day event. AV equipment not provided as promised either, resulting in projector being brought over from another property and us made to feel like we had neglected this when signing agreement. Wish there were mini fridges in all guest rooms and things like Advil available in the hotel. Great location in heart of historic district and clean accommodations. Really should include valet parking as part of room costs - feels like a hidden extra you get socked with upon checking in. Read less

The hotel is in an awesome location, walking distance to everything. Staff was all extremely helpful and friendly. However, there are some negatives to be sure. Parking is awful in Savannah, and the hotel says they have parking... if you pay and extra $35 every day. The room was clean enough, but probably the smallest hotel room I have been in.… Read more
The hotel is in an awesome location, walking distance to everything. Staff was all extremely helpful and friendly. However, there are some negatives to be sure. Parking is awful in Savannah, and the hotel says they have parking... if you pay and extra $35 every day. The room was clean enough, but probably the smallest hotel room I have been in. We had no soap and when I asked for some they said the hotel was out, but someone brought some shortly after. We were only given 3 towels and washcloths for 4 people. The carpet in the lobby and hall looks worn and honestly dirty. I reserved the room with Breakfast included which is also misleading. It gives you a $40 credit to the room. The breakfast buffet which was good, will run you $17 a person. It isn’t possible for 4 people to eat for $40 at the hotel restaurant. It was already a pricy room. And between parking and the breakfast it goes up another $70 each night. I would love to come back to Savannah, I highly doubt I will be revisiting this hotel. Read less

After returning from a night out, we were disappointed to find out that the hot water wasn't working in our room. This was around 2 am. So at 230 am, we packed all of our things and moved… Read more
