The Bohemian Hotel Savannah, Autograph Collection

Savannah, Georgia

The hotel

Giving you a true taste of your sophisticated Savannah setting, this high-design hotel is both refined and dynamic. Its luxurious ‘boutique-style’ guestrooms give you a flavour of old Savannah (if you ignore modern touches like the complimentary WiFi and 24-hour fitness centre access), while the social spaces buzz with the energy found in today’s downtown neighbourhood. Set between the historic district and scenic waterfront, The Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront gives you views of both from its hotel-topping bar, Rocks on the Roof, where you can tuck into tapas and hand-mixed cocktails beneath oyster shell chandeliers or around the al fresco fire pit.

This is about as unique and sexy as a hotel gets. Part swanky hotel, part craft cocktail lounge, part art gallery, and all awesome! I travel a lot (when you live in New York as long as I have, you REALLY want to get out once in a while.) Normally when I do, a hotel isn't much more than a place to sleep and drink overpriced martinis with other weary travellers. Very much not the case here. I was beyond exhausted when I checked in. Even so, seeing the beautiful artwork literally everywhere you turn made me drop my bags and walk around the hotel just... Looking. Possibly with my mouth hanging open a little. Somewhere between the oyster shell chandeliers and the massive paintings, reminiscent of earlier Picasso, I started to find a bit of peace. I felt like I was in an NYC museum without all the sterility and crazy, unsupervised city kids running around my ankles. My best friend and I had gone to Daufuskie Island Distillery the next day. Me being the... "Responsible" guy that I am, I procured a couple bottles of the local firewater and brought them back to the hotel. Unfortunately there wasn't a mini-fridge in the room. This is where it gets really awesome... They literally offered to cart a fridge up to my room for me. Now THAT is service on par with what i would expect from the St. Regis or other similar, ultra-luxury property. A hotel is supposed to make you want for nothing, to feel pampered, special, and important. Its supposed to hit all the bases all the time. This is that place. Enjoy your stay, its impossible not to. We have stayed at Bohemians in the past and always loved them. This is no exception. The hand-selected artwork perfectly complements the decor. My only complaint - and why I did not give it a 5 - is the rooftop bar. If you have a room on 8, the music is so loud you can hear not just the bass, but all the instruments and vocals. The scraping of chairs cuts through your skull! If you party all night and sleep during the day, this would be perfect. However, if you are a nighttime sleeper avoid a room on 8 at any cost. Love this hotel on the riverfront. So much fun to see the container ships pass by. The rooms are eclectic and clean. Location is awesome and you can take a wonderful walk along the river. Highly recommend.

The room was nice size with cozy bedding and had a balcony with a beautiful view of the Savannah River. The restaurant downstairs is a must try wether you are staying at the hotel or not. The southern style cuisine was prepared perfectly. I had the Fried Green Tomatoes and Pork Belly for my appetizer and for my meal I had the Ribeye which was delicious. After dinner We went to the rooftop bar which I must say has the Best View of the Savannah River. The drinks were perfectly made and the staff was very attentive and delightful. We will stay here again next we are in Savannah for sure. Read less
