Hotel Covington

Kentucky, Deep South

The hotel

Impeccably groomed, this fashionable hotel’s accessorised with faux fur throws, dramatic feature walls, and industrial black bathroom fixtures. Taking over the century old Coppin’s Department Store, it’s also brim-full with history. Originally built thanks to John Coppin’s winning bet on an underdog horse (this is Kentucky after all), the old store was totally transformed before reopening as Hotel Covington in 2016. On the banks of Ohio River, it’s now decked out with complimentary WiFi, minibars stocked with local goodies, and chic social spaces like The Coppin’s Patio, an urban courtyard within the old department store walls that’s home to lawn games, movie screenings, and music. Other social venues include Artisan Coffee Bar, open till 2.00pm most nights; The Walk Up late-night dining window; and the glass-enclosed Coppin’s Restaurant & Bar with its exposed bricks, raw rustic décor, and all-day dining.

Our stay at Hotel Covington was a five star experience with staff that went above and beyond. Both the lobby and court yard were beautifully decorated with holiday decor. The restaurant Coppins delivered the best outdoor dining experience of the pandemic with an open tent and lots of heat. We could have spent the entire evening in front of the outdoor fireplace. The bartender at Coppins has delivered an intriguing array of cocktails that will keep you warm on a cool winter evening including, a spiked hot chocolate. This is a must stop for any bourbon lover. Our server Emily was attentive and the fritters she suggested were the perfect pairing with the autumn fires cocktail. Our spacious room was beautifully decorated with a lovely view of Covington. Thanks Justin and your entire staff for an amazing stay. We will definitely be back. Read less

Swanky hotel made me feel like an adult finally after a two week vacay with toddlers. The rooms are gorgeous, amenities fantastic and staff so nice. Complimentary coffee at the time of our visit as well.

My wife and I went for a mini anniversary trip since we couldn't really go anywhere else. For a last minute, two night stay, it was an AMAZING hotel. We stayed in the Roebling Suite and it was worth every penny. It had a King size bed, very contemporary layout, a dual sink in the bathroom, huge shower, his and her robes, stocked mini bar/fridge, as well as an iPad that could get you anything you needed, answer any questions, or get you any place you need to go. It truly was one of the nicest places we have stayed. There was never a wait for the elevators, which made it nice and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Will stay here again. Thanks Hotel Covington for making our anniversary memorable. Read less

I can't say enough good things about our stay here. The staff, the rooms, the food, everything was perfect! We celebrated our wedding there and it couldn't have been better! I hope to go back to celebrate our anniversary with them.

We highly recommend Hotel Covington and Coppins Restaurant. The décor and service at the hotel were first-rate (we travel a lot to major cities and this hotel ranks with the best). We highly recommend Hotel Covington and Coppins Restaurant. The décor and service at the hotel were first-rate (we travel a lot to major cities and this hotel ranks with the best). They also took safety into consideration in this age of COVID-19 and the hotel was very clean. The bed was so comfortable we asked who made the mattress. The room was very comfortable and sophisticated - the dark-out curtains made the room very dark, which was great for sleeping. We enjoyed a very delicious meal and cocktails at Coppins - highly recommend. When you are in NKY or Greater Cincinnati, check-out Hotel Covington and Coppins. Read less
