Nice location and friendly staff don't make up for the overall poor quality and terrible maintenance of this hotel. Rooms were clearly designed by someone who had no intention of ever staying here and so often made the stay frustrating at best. Outlets are inconveniently located and the bathroom is a mess. Most damning is the fact that the "free WiFi" should really come with a disclaimer about how WiFi is hardly ever available. I have been here for hours without WiFi and other reviews from other time periods give the same feedback. Not worth staying here when you could pay less to stay somewhere with better rooms and a more reliable internet connection. Stay somewhere else, especially if you are in town for business. Read less

What an amazing hotel! The room was immaculate and very comfortable. The staff was amazing! China at the front desk was very helpful. We received incredible customer service from Alexis at the bar! She was very attentive and kind! We'll be back.

This has been the worst experience with a hotel I've ever had. We are coming for an incredibly busy weekend, so we booked our hotel the minute that booking was open back in November 2023. This week (March 2024) our reservation was cancelled (7 months before our trip) with an email that didn't have a Marriott logo, didn't have my original confirmation number, etc. I thought it was a scam or a bot and I called Aloft hoping they could help me. Chyna, the woman at the front desk, yelled at me, told me my credit card was declined and so they cancelled the reservation and then she hung up on me. I called my credit card company and they show no record of an attempted charge at any point from the hotel. I posted on a group forum to see if this had happened to anyone else attending the upcoming event, and several people said the exact same thing had happened to them. Sure enough, they were all also supposed to be staying at the Aloft. They cancelled our reservations to sell them at a higher rate and then they yelled at us telling us that we were in the wrong. I've never been so disappointed and frustrated with customer service in my life. The front desk staff at the Aloft was unfathomably rude and even though it's costing me more money to stay in a different hotel for that weekend, I'm happy to never have to step foot in the Aloft New Orleans. our stay was a monday - friday stay. this hotel is in a great location. only a few blocks from bourbon st, right near a trolly/bus line and plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance. our room was clean and looked really well maintained. i really liked that the elevators had to use a keycard to function, little extra security in a city is always nice! the beds were comfy, too! i saw a lot of bad reviews about the staff, and i guess we got lucky! everyone we encountered was super helpful and friendly. the only issue we had was we had requested housekeeping before we left for the day, and it wasn't done. but it did get done the next day.
