Astor Crowne Plaza

New Orleans, Louisiana

The hotel

Enjoy Louisiana hospitality at its finest at the Astor Crowne Plaza, a hotel located right in the beating heart of New Orleans. Guest rooms are spacious and well equipped, ensuring a comfortable base from which to explore the myriad delights this city has to offer. When you’re relaxing on the premises, however, there’s a state-of-the-art gym to tempt you as well as an outdoor swimming pool, perfect for cooling off in if you’re visiting in warm weather. The real jewel in the crown at the Astor though is Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House and Beyond. You’ve plenty of wonderful restaurants in the nearby vicinity but Dickie’s is not to be missed. Enjoy a rich array of tantalising Creole specialities, including freshly caught seafood, BBQ shrimp, thick steaks and decadent deserts. And rest assured, if it’s not in season, it’s not on the menu! Oysters are a house speciality, order a dozen at the bar whilst listening to the City’s best shuckers. It’s also a grand spot for a bit of ‘people watching’ with picture windows overlooking the action of Bourbon Street – fun you won’t be able to resist joining in with once dinner’s finished!

Lobby has a nice look, with what you would expect to be new orleans style. Receptionist looked uninterested during check in and was not very friendly. Rooms are adequate and location very good, right next to the french quarter.

This hotel has completely given up on customer service. The restaurant staff already know you are going to be dissatisfied, so they make zero effort. Never park you car with them! They have no on premises parking, so arriving is excruciatingly slow, as they have to block off a lane at Canal and Bourbon all the time. I am from New Orleans, and… Read more

I am from New Orleans, and I always wondered why there was traffic blockage there. Now I know. I don't know how the City lets them get away with it. The front desk is a joke. This is a horrible hotel. Read less

My wife stayed there for a conference for work. Her stay was just over $800 for the time she was there. When shoe got home, we checked our bank account, and there were nearly $2400 in pending charges from this hotel. You’re in the heart of everything. The rooms were clean and the staff was extremely nice. You can hear the noise from Bourbon St late night. The hotel… Read more

The hotel provides you with ear plugs to help you sleep comfortably. You can book almost any tour right in the lobby and there’s a roof top pool. It’s kind of small, but it’s a pool. There’s also a very nice restaurant connected to the hotel. I would definitely stay here again. Read less

We arrived mid afternoon on a Friday, and the lobby gives the impression of a busy Super 8, but once checked in, the rooms are large and cool. We were give the choice of a quiet room facing out back, or a noisy one facing Canal Street. We chose the former, and were only disturbed by the hen party next door on Saturday night. We were give the choice of a quiet room facing out back, or a noisy one facing Canal Street. We chose the former, and were only disturbed by the hen party next door on Saturday night. Right near Bourbon Street, in walking distance of the French Quarter, and both the breakfast here, and dinner were fabulous, with great service. Very good indeed. Read less
