Hotel Monteleone

New Orleans, Louisiana

The hotel

This is not just one of New Orleans finest hotels, this is a film set – movies such as Double Jeopardy with Tommy Lee Jones and The Last Time with Michael Keaton have been filmed here. Once you’ve got over that fact, it’s time to absorb another, it has been said, time and time again, that the French Quarter begins in the lobby of the Monteleone and it truly does, capturing the very essence of what makes New Orleans so very special. A member of the Historic Hotels of America, you will adore your stay here, revelling in a grandeur only the Deep South can provide. Admire stunning views from the sundeck surrounding the rooftop swimming pool, a truly blissful place to chill out, cocktail in hand and a good book beside you. The fitness centre also boasts beautiful views, encouraging you to work that little bit harder perhaps, knowing your reward is to venture out later. At night, your starting point should be the Carousel Bar & Lounge, voted No.1 in a city that’s full of great bars, it’s been immortalised in the writings of Ernest Hemmingway amongst others. Featuring a revolving bar, crowd closer when local characters begin telling stories about this famous hotel as well as the city surrounding it.

In the heart of the quarter and a piece of old school history. You feel like you have stepped back in time and the bar is one of a kind. You can not get the same experience in a new hotel that you do here.

We had such an amazing time on our stay in the French Quarter of NOLA. They say the French quarter begins that the front door of Hotel Monteleone, and they are correct! Such a beautiful hotel, wonderful service and even better location!!

Impeccable Service, the room was beautiful, the atmosphere is the finest in New Orleans. The hotel dining was very reasonable and having a few disappointing meals at other restaurants, made our weekend perfect.

The hotel is historically exquisite. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size for an older hotel and were nicely decorated. The food was good especially for a hotel restaurant. You get your dollars worth at a stay at this beautiful historic hotel. Front desk clerks make it pleasant. Valet service is great, and quick. Good location, in walking distance of good shopping, good restaurants, Jackson Square and the cathedral, etc.
