Really liked the staff. The gentleman who checked us in was delightful. The bartenders in the lounge were great! Was really hoping for a good experience. Hotel is old but room was clean. The first problem-there was absolutely no hot water for morning shower. I complained at checkout but lady said it was, “ because everyone was taking a shower at the same time.” Really? It’s a hotel & you can’t figure out how to get hot water for your guests? Isn’t that rule # 2 or 3 of hotel management? They took $50 off my bill but I still can’t believe it. The second problem- breakfast at Pralines- was terrible. Eggs were too wet. The sausage was inedible. The biscuits & gravy had no flavor. Fruit was previously frozen. At $285/ night - there is no excuse. I blame the management. Teddy Roosevelt (Mr. Good to the last drop) would be horrified. I know they can do better. Read less

The price for this hotel seemed fair for the location. The people were very nice. Everything else fell short. The decor was dated at best. The paint was peeling and I had to use a washcloth to clean areas that had been ignored. We asked for more soap and didn't get it. The carpet in my friend's room looked like someone had spit all over it… Read more

The paint was peeling and I had to use a washcloth to clean areas that had been ignored. We asked for more soap and didn't get it. The carpet in my friend's room looked like someone had spit all over it and it was left there, so they had to change rooms. No hot water for showers and on the morning we checked out there was only 1 working elevator. Read less

While this hotel has the potential to be a great deal at a great price, it totally falls flat. While this hotel has the potential to be a great deal at a great price, it totally falls flat. For starters, housekeeping did not restock the bathroom amenities between guests so we arrived in our room to no soaps, shampoos, etc. Additionally, there was even a day where the housekeeping simply did not clean our room (we did not hang the sign so they should have). The shower rod was falling out of the wall so the curtains were so slanted they did not enclose the shower. This meant taking a lukewarm shower (no consistent hot water) in an open shower... very drafty to say the least. But worse than all of this was the shuttle. The hotel is about 10 minutes by drive from downtown. There is a free shuttle that is advertised as dropping you off downtown from the hotel and it supposedly runs every thirty minutes which is an absolute lie. Never once when I was downtown did the shuttle arrive within thirty minutes. Their “pick up spot” is on the side of a curb about two blocks from broadway. One day, my mother and I had been standing on the curb for one full hour waiting for the shuttle when I called the front desk to ask where it was. The staff member told me in these exact words that “he was not the driver so he could not tell me where the driver was or do anything to speed things up. However, he recommended if I was dissatisfied with waiting to call and Uber or a Lyft because the shuttle is free for a reason”. I mean for starters, that is a totally unprofessional way to speak to a customer. But secondly, there is no reason the front desk would be unaware of where and when the shuttle left since it sits right in front of the lobby until departing. The staff were unwilling to help or to do anything that was outside the basic minimum of their job description. Although this hotel is one of the more inexpensive options, you get what you pay for. I highly recommend paying the extra money to stay somewhere better to save yourself time, discomfort, inconvenience, and frustration. Read less
