Let me start with the positive. Staff and employees were all kind, respectful, and helpful to the best of their capacity. Lobby is comfortable. Room was reasonably clean. Unfortunately, the negative is much longer. Chairs in the room all need to have better cushion. Sinking into one’s chair is not comfortable. Some people wouldn’t be able to stand… Read more
Let me start with the positive. Staff and employees were all kind, respectful, and helpful to the best of their capacity. Lobby is comfortable. Room was reasonably clean. Unfortunately, the negative is much longer. Chairs in the room all need to have better cushion. Sinking into one’s chair is not comfortable. Some people wouldn’t be able to stand themselves up after sitting in those chairs with worn out seats. The coffee was bad as though someone put their dirty socks in it. Those are the worst things about the room. Grant Grove Restaurant charges regular restaurant prices for the food but doesn’t give regular restaurant quality food. We ordered personal size pizzas the first night and the toppings were scarce even though we paid full price for them. The next morning for breakfast we ordered scrambled eggs, hash browns, and bacon and sausage. The toast was dry without butter having been put on it, the bacon was extra thin measuring about 1/16th of an inch and the sausage tasted like cardboard. Dinner that night comprised of hamburgers and a chicken sandwich. Sounds simple, right? They were all bone dry and lacking in flavor because of that. If you choose the possibility of going to the lodge I would recommend you call them and ask if they’ve fixed the problem with the chairs especially if you have mobility or flexlibility problems. Also, be aware that you are taking a chance with the food at the restaurant, or perhaps take some food from home and save yourself some money. Read less

The best thing by far was the beds! I found them extremely comfy and I enjoyed the selection of pillows. The bathroom was clean and I enjoyed the style of having the sink separate from the toilet and shower so more people can get ready at the same time. The water pressure and temperature of the shower was great and bed linens and towels felt very clean and soft. Definitely recommend! Read less

This is just a warning. Be very careful about the non-refundable rate. I mistakenly booked and it turned out to be the wrong date. I wanted to change for a date a couple of days later and they would not exchange. No credit, nothing. Lost over $200.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great Location For Touring The Park

It was a nice comfortable lodge to stay at, what I really enjoyed was the location in the park and the road highway 180 going to that side of the park is much nicer than the other side of the park. Also had a great experience booking a tour of the park with a local Tour guide from the town of Dunlap, a great recommendation from the staff!
