Recently stayed 2 nights for a conference and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel is clean, quiet and all staff were welcoming/friendly. Few thoughts – there is nothing to do in that area without a car outside of the mall that is attached. There are plenty of good restaurants/coffee shops in the mall. I’m SO disappointed that Westin has changed its “heavenly bedding” to a lower quality product. All pillows are foam and no down/feather-not even on request. Unfortunately, not even a down alternative pillow, just firm pillows. The down comforter is gone also. The sheets are a lower quality, not the smooth finish that made it feel like a higher… Read more
I’m SO disappointed that Westin has changed its “heavenly bedding” to a lower quality product. All pillows are foam and no down/feather-not even on request. Unfortunately, not even a down alternative pillow, just firm pillows. The down comforter is gone also. The sheets are a lower quality, not the smooth finish that made it feel like a higher quality hotel. I had a disappointing stay, I usually slept so well at Westin hotels bc of the bedding but evidently those days are gone. This specific hotel at the Dallas galleria used to be a prime location but because the mall has been going downhill and so many stores have closed the location is not a big enough draw anymore. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and justified the slow decline of the galleria location with the fact that the beds were so comfortable. Sadly, I will be looking for a different hotel to stay at in Dallas now. Specific points: -the staff in the bar and second floor restaurant are always very good. -the “room service” is brought in a paper to-go bag with plastic utensils. -the elevators at this location are frequently broken and we have had to use a service elevator in the back for the entire stay on more than one occasion. -I called the hotel directly to make the reservation for my most recent stay because I needed adjoining rooms. I was told I’d have adjoining rooms with two queens in each on the 18th floor but when we arrived (at 3:30 pm) they only had a king and a queen room adjoining on the 11th floor. Their explanation was simply, “Sorry, that’s all we have, there’s a volleyball tournament this weekend and we’re full.” Read less

I was here for a 3 day business trip. Great location. Attached to a mall with lots of food choices. Rooms are comfortable and large. Elevators are fast. Only downside, had noticeable street noise; next to a major traffic road (my room faced it). Small bar/restaurant on the second floor.

Overcrowding of entire hotel due to an unsafe overbooking of rooms and people far exceeding safety guidelines. It’s obvious you don’t need to be an inspector. Good and beverage is iffy. Staff is friendly. I paid with points as a titanium Bonvoy member however the hotel snuck in an unauthorized 50+ USD redemption fee. Yes they charged me… Read more

This is a widespread scam among Marriott Properties. I’ve filed a complaint with Marriott International headquarters. In any event I can not recommend this property as it is a total cluster **** located in a lower end shopping mall that used to be “the place”. It’s no longer anywhere close to “the place” and the experience proves that. Read less

This former Grande Dame of the area has sadly faded. I spent a night this week and while there were plenty of people working the front desk- they lacked a certain panache that used to be present. This former Grande Dame of the area has sadly faded. I spent a night this week and while there were plenty of people working the front desk- they lacked a certain panache that used to be present. Firstly, most of the staff were dressed in their own clothes in a variety of color schemes, instead of a crisp uniformed outfit as they once wore. I was greeted by a gentleman who simply asked’ “ can I see your ID?” Not, “Welcome to the Westin, how may I help you today?” As a platinum member I asked if I would be granted an upgrade and was immediately told No. The hotel was full. I assure you…. It was far from full. It’s only a night, so my room was good enough, very clean and had a decent view of the toll road and a seating area where the balconies once were. But there is definitely a lack of training present wit the staff. This hotel used to make guests feel as if they were about to have a high end experience. This visit was as spectacular as a Garden Inn. Lastly, elevators were having issues. Hallways were damp and humid. I ordered eggs Benedict from room service for breakfast. For $28 before tip in a hotel if this “caliber” I expect a proper presentation with a TRAY and a PLATE with metal CUTLERY and cloth napkins. Instead, I was handed a large paper bag with a cardboard box and haphazardly presented breakfast that had slid to one side of the box, plus greasy, burned hash brown potatoes and plastic utensils. You can DO BETTER Westin Galleria. My family and I have been guests of this hotel since soon after it opened in the 1980s, and to see such a downgrade of attention to detail is quite disappointing. Please stop using Covid as an excuse to downgrade the level of service while raising the rates. If you were going to serve me a lukewarm breakfast tossed into a cardboard box, then you need to be charging half of what you are. McDonalds has a better presentation. Hopefully this “skimpflation” will be remedied or I’ll sadly have to find new accommodations next time I visit. Read less
