The hotel

Very pleased with the accommodations. We held a business meeting at the hotel and the hotel and staff were very accommodating. I highly recommend the hotel. It is not on the busy end of the riverwalk, but in short distance to the main buzz of the riverwalk.

Arrived by car from Houston, hotel was easy to find with Sat Nav, when we arrived we realised that a major refurbishment was in full swing at the hotel, the restaurant facility didnt appear to be available, the construction work was intrusive with little demarcation between building works and guest areas, we would have stayed in another hotel if we had been made aware of the works. That said hotel is on the quiet end of the river walk, 5 -7 minutes to the busy area, Breakfast area looked temporary and limited due to the works, we ate out before walking to the Alamo from the hotel which only took 10-15 minutes. The room was a nice sized room. The shower was dated. I kept finding screws on the floor. The water in the shower barely worked. It took 10 minutes just to warm up the water. It turns out that there is another Hyatt on the Riverwalk. This one is a dump. The shower is filthy with mold. The mattress is worn out. The breakfast area is only a few seats in the lobby. We almost died in Hyatt Be aware it was in a construction and we didn’t know when we arrived there it was a written sign that said “lobby is closed for the better ???”at first we didn’t take it very serious but when we enter the building from the back which was in conviniene we saw a table besid the elevator at the end of the coridor that was as a reception ,two young lady that werenot very welcoming sat there when we entered our room the smell of painting was very strog and my husband has an allergy so after a while we foundout we can t tolerate the smell and asked them to exchange our roon and they did. it was better but still you could smell the fresh paint specially in the elvator and the coridor breakfast was not good as well the egg was wattery so now i think again about the sign that was written “the lobby is closed for the better”i find it really offensive and in this case even asking for appology can not cure the pain we went through Read less
