We really enjoyed our stay on the upper level of the "Yellow Pine" building. It was clean. The four of us had plenty of room, and the high ceiling made it feel even roomier. It was a short walk from the dining area, which we ate at several times. For those who don't need anything fancy, I recommend this option.

On a positive note, the Lodge is well located close to the blue and red bus routes, which take you all over the park. The pizza pub inside the Lodge is surprisingly excellent. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are tired, have no wi fi, noisy fans and fridges and the most uncomfortable pillows. It’s ok for a night but I wouldn’t stay longer.

(For summer months check on air conditioning—some rooms have it and some do not.) The rooms were small with a single vanity in the bathroom— a little crowded but fine overall. (See pics). We found a harmless bug in each room. But these are rooms in a natural setting. The front desk staff was super! That is true of all staff that we met. Maswik Lodge has easy access to the Grand Canyon, a good cafeteria, and a great restaurant nearby, El Tovar. (The Pepperjack Au Gratin Potatoes at El Tovar were so tasty that we got the recipe!). Location, location, location. Elsewhere this lodge is three stars. But easy access to the Grand Canyon is worth an additional star! Don’t be afraid to try another place, but this really is a solid choice while staying in the park. Read less

The bedrooms are in “lodges” separate from a central Reception, shop and dining area dotted around a series of car parks which are poorly lit at night to preserve the view of the night sky. You need a torch to get about safely. The basics are all here but the dining options at the lodge are limited, more like a college refectory than a restaurant. Great for trail walkers not a luxury or chic option. Read less

As expected, Maswik Lodge is a basic accommodation but honestly, it was great for what we needed.
