I wanted to stay within walking distance of the Canyon. Maswik was a good value option and a short pleasant walk to the canton rim. Our room was great, it had a lovely outlook and we were able to park reasonably close by. We had dinner & breakfast at the cafeteria which offered a diverse menu and was reasonably priced (and the size of the cinnamon bun was just as grand as the canyon itself). If you have a sweet tooth indulge in some fudge from the gift shop... so divine!! No wifi in the rooms so it was great to disconnect and focus on nature. I would happily stay at Maswik again & hope to in the future. Read less

We stayed here for a great price of $100 due to low occupancy which was cheaper then Tusayan. The room had everything we needed albeit dated but it provided all we needed for one night. The rooms are large with the first in room safe we have had on our trip. Coffee and fridge were nice, beds were comfy enough.

(We'd booked online a couple of months in advance, which no doubt helped keep the rate low.) Our room had a private balcony overlooking a wooded area, a comfortable bed, TV, big bathroom and fridge and coffeemaker. It felt remote but was very close to both the Canyon rim and the main lodge with the dining options and stores. Maintenance did a terrific job of clearing several inches of snow from the steps and walkways after a big storm. Would definitely recommend Maswik and would stay there again. One thing to note: no microwaves in rooms, so don't come expecting to cook in your room. Read less

Comfortable rooms within the Grand Canyon Park. Very quiet place in a serene wooded setting. Lodge has a good cafeteria style dining area and a quality gift shop. No fitness center. In-room fridge but no microwave. Great shuttle service stops right outside the lodge. Easy walking to the other in-park hotels.

Was there on vacation with my uncle. They made a mistake on our reservation which were placed through an Amtrak vacation package. Our documents had two rooms, they only had us booked for one. They did accommodate our needs quickly but there continued to be miscommunication between the shifts about our situation and the PM manager wanted to charge us for an extra room even though it was already paid through AMTRAK! Again, they found their error with that scenario but it was really a worrisome inconvenience because the rooms were pre-paid. Anyway, I asked about a late check out and was told to call in the morning to ask if it’s available rather than just be told yes or no and to reserve it then. Wouldn’t that be the point? To request it ahead of time while it’s available to request? That’s how it’s been allowed for me everywhere else I go. So the morning of checkout, I called at 7AM and they told me I could only have a late check out for one room! Weird! AND the lady told me the charges to the card would be $200 plus dollars, but not charged until we were to check out. But WHY??? Lol! We had NO incidentals and it was already established that the rooms were pre-paid! SMH! So we went to the front desk again and straightened THAT out! And they were nice enough to allow us each our late check out. Sunday night they were nice enough to lend me a flash light because the property is SO dark between the rooms and the main building. Almost pitch black. There should be more lights along the foot paths. And, if you think you will be able to get online easily, think again! There is WiFi but ONLY in the Lobby and Slow as molasses. Forget uploading pics even on WiFi. The pluses: the rooms are large. Back patio door with a back porch light, the heater is on and off all night making the room very comfortable, the comforter and pillows were comfortable. The food was pretty good overall and the staff was nice and accommodating. I don’t know if it’s a complicated thing to coordinate vacation packages with other companies but even though i enjoyed my vacation very much, it seemed that there was an inconvenience every step of the way. I wouldn’t NOT Recommend for anyone to stay there. I would just suggest that you verify verify verify before arriving and ask for all the amenities you would expect so that you KNOW what to expect.
