The Good: Servers at breakfast so friendly and happy. Jimmy was awesome!! Food at pool and bar delicious. Pool was heated and large. Very little children. Not crowded. The bar is THE place to be at sunset. Valet friendly and fun The BAD: Like a reviewer said, it looks like a cruise ship. It felt like a hotel from the 1960's. So, if you don't… Read more

So, if you don't care that it is old and dated, stay here. We just laughed and enjoyed the good qualities. It is a shame they don't do work now for a whole year. Their staff is amazing. Loved Blue Dolphin Napali Tours with Captain Chad. Loved Bar Acuda in Hanalei. Read less

The staff at the Princeville Resort is outstanding. We know that they are in transition but hope that the new owner keeps every single one of them. ALL were kind, knowledgeable and said "Aloha" even just passing in the hallway. I love that personal attention to detail. We had a glorious room (Room 1010) that overlooked the bay. ALL were kind, knowledgeable and said "Aloha" even just passing in the hallway. I love that personal attention to detail. We had a glorious room (Room 1010) that overlooked the bay. Because we had to checkout at 1:00 and our flight home was not until 10:00 pm, they offered us a complimentary hospitality suite for 30 minutes to shower and get ready for our flight after a day of kayaking, lunching at the pool and playing at the beach. The facility is in need of a cosmetic facelift, but the heart and soul of the Resort is in tact. Read less

My husband and I came here for 4 days as part of our honeymoon. We travel fairly often and are open to paying a fair amount for 5 star accommodations. This certainly wasn’t that - we left really disappointed. Overall, the hotel was probably really nice when it was updated about 15 years ago as a St. Regis but now it’s rundown, dirty and neglected. It is NOT 5 star and it feels the current owners (St. Regis sold the property probably given all the renovations needed) are scamming visitors by saying it is and charging fees way higher than they should be allowed to. I’d give it 3 stars max. The positives: - the location can’t be beat with panoramic views of the ocean overlooking Hanaley Bay - the beach area was great and sits over a reef where you can snorkel and see various fish/marine life - overall, staff was pleasant and helpful The negatives: - Hotel owners have no business charging more than $350 max per night for their dusty, mildew smelling rooms (they apparently will renovate in 2020 but are clearly trying to pull in as much $$ as possible before then by gouging unsuspecting guests) - Resort hasn’t been updated in at least 15-20 years, rooms are dark, dated and dirty - Pool area complete with old dirty tents, bird poop covered chairs and dozens of chickens eating guests’ leftovers - Room windows haven’t been cleaned, maybe ever, and were covered w bird poop - Outside of buildings featured peeling grey paint with dirt stains down the sides - Pool towel area often empty forcing guests to go behind the counter and get towels from bins themselves Also need to add that the hotel left us a bottle of champagne in the room with a congratulations note on our honeymoon. While the sentiment was nice, they addressed the note only to my husband without my name included at all so apparently they were congratulating him on marrying himself... very strange and not a mistake an actual 5 star hotel would make. If you read this I recommend you rethink staying at this hotel until they lower their prices or completely renovate. If you’re looking for luxury, you’ll definitely be disappointed. And if you’re the management, please save your “thank you” response - I’ve seen them all and it’s clear you haven’t taken any action to make changes so you should really focus on that instead of placating guests with no follow through. The views of Hanalei Bay are incomparable. However, what they don't tell you when you book is that the road to the beaches on the north end of the island, in close proximity to the hotel is closed and has been for over one year due to a major storm in April 2018. The reason we came to this hotel was for these beaches. We are cutting our stay here from 15 days to a few days. Additionally, they charge $35 per day for valet parking, which they also do not tell you until you get there and valet parking is your only option, which is ridiculous ! The hotel is also in need of some renovations. When you are paying $600 per night, a hotel should be in immaculate condition. Very disappointing to say the least. Read less

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty by the staff. I had read that the rooms were dated and a little beaten up. We didn’t find that to be the case. We had an amazing view of Hanalei Bay from our lanai. We spent a lot of time at the pool and beach, and the great service was on display there as well. We had several meals at the pool restaurant because we were having too good a time to leave. The snorkeling was really nice while we were there. We can’t wait to go back. Read less
