This turned out to be the perfect place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We had a beach view cottage and it did not disappoint. We awoke every morning to a view of the serene beach and slept with our screen doors open to the sound of the waves. This is not for those looking for white sand beaches but the beach is great for long walks and no crowds. We had great weather as this is the drier side of the island. Although I wouldn't rave about the restaurant, it was nice to have for at least one meal where we didn't get in the car. The town is rustic and has a funky vibe but not a lot of food choice. There was a wedding while we were there and it looked like a wonderful event beneath the banyan trees. Read less

There is a small graveyard and church. Close to town (walking distance.) The beach is beautiful with lots of driftwood. Spend an evening watching the sun set in a hammock. We had a beautiful rooster in our yard who made sure we were awakened bright and early. Also a couple of friendly anole lizards stopped by. This is an incredible venue for a wedding. The huge Banyan tree near the beach is amazing. Be sure to eat at the bbq restaurant too. Read less

We stayed at the Waimea Plantation for 1 night while exploring the inland beauty of Kauai. It is a fabulous location to explore the Waimea Canyon and the Napali Coast from the Mountain tops. The garden and the beach front is fabulous, and I wish we had more time to simply relax on the grounds. I would happily have stayed longer.

This was our second trip here. If you do not want the hype of the north coast this is the place for you. Very laid back. With the addition of the restaurant we did not have to wander very far to eat. We will be back.

We love it because it's a unique property and not pretentious - away from the crowd, no fancy spa but a nice pool, no clear blue water but a great place to soak in the tranquility, read a book, watch sunset or take a walk on the beach. On a clear night, look up in the sky, the gazillion stars and Milky Way. It's so magical! You can prepare meals in the not fancy, but well-equipped kitchen or, if you wish, on the outside propane grill for a nice BBQ. Read less
