Aqua Oasis, A Joy Hotel

Honolulu, Oahu

The hotel

Hawaii’s fun side is ever-present at Aqua Oasis. Of course it has all your easy-going island essentials: a spot near Waikiki Beach, chilled sitting areas, the all-important pool and sun deck, and a deep-soaking tub and private ‘lanai’ balcony in every room. But it also brings effervescent extras, including a karaoke lounge, but also its spot steps away from luxury shopping and the International marketplace, and the unlimited movies and PS3 games on tap. Smartly furnished and crisply designed, it has just enough subtle Polynesian touches to remind you you’re in Hawaii, from floral prints to splashes of turquoise or orange, without losing its modern edge. And there’s also a taste of Hawaii in its complimentary breakfasts, which mix Continental favourites with fresh island fruits.

My husband and I had a staycation here for one night. I booked the room through a travel site and not with the hotel directly. I arrived alone before my husband because he was still working. When I walked in there were two men standing at the front desk talking, none of them greeted me, no “hello” or “welcome” nothing. As I was checking in the man at the front informed me that I would be charged $50. When I asked what it was for, he said it was a refundable security deposit and that “this information was given to you when you booked the room” however, I went back to the website and checked, it did not show that information. The room was great for the price. Very comfortable and clean. The bath tub is pretty large and is very relaxing. Our mini fridge didn’t work, it was defrosted and filled with water, and there was an empty beer bottle on our balcony. The next morning we went to get breakfast, which wasn’t much. Cereal, juice, bagels, toast, oranges, muffins, and coffee were all that they had. We checked to see if the pool and sauna were open, they were not due to the pandemic. While checking out, the woman at the front desk was way more helpful and kind. However, she informed me that I had to pay another fee of $28 before checking out. I asked what this fee was for now because I had no idea I’d be charged again. She said it was the amenity fee. I thought it was kind of odd because of the fact that all the amenities they usually offer were unavailable due to corona virus. Overall my stay was enjoyable. I just wish they’d be more up front about all the fees you’ll be charged and when exactly they will charge you. Read less

Olivia did an amazing job making sure my stay was pleasant. I highly recommend this location solely based on my opinion of Olivia and her proffesionalism. The location was close enough to the beach that the walk was pleasant

This was a perfect hotel for us: quiet, located a nice walk from the beach, close to restaurants and shops, delicious breakfast included, good size room with balcony to enjoy the outside, extremely helpful staff. This was a perfect hotel for us: quiet, located a nice walk from the beach, close to restaurants and shops, delicious breakfast included, good size room with balcony to enjoy the outside, extremely helpful staff. The hotel has a wonderful, relaxing feel. It's on the smaller size which was great as it made us feel very much at home. After our trip we realized that we had forgotten something at the hotel. Thanks to the guest supervisor, Olivia Fields, we were able to have the item shipped to us. She was very professional, patient and understanding of the situation. We would definitely recommend this hotel! Read less

My and my husband had an amazing staycation! The staff and ambiance were absolutely fantastic. The breakfast was a nice touch in the morning. Unfortunately because of the pandemic we were not allowed to use the pool or sauna but that's all the more reason to come back!

The Aqua Oasis is an exceptional place to stay.... including the people ... those that work there are so friendly, kind, and always smiling.... This makes my 3rd time staying there and I'll be there again when I go back.... Really great location too.
