The hotel

The magic of Disney meets the splendour of Hawaii at the Aulani. Relaxed yet regal, highlights include a white sandy beach, tropical gardens, luxurious lagoons and sparkling waterfalls. There’s also the most incredible water complex on-site with winding paths to explore, twisting through misty caverns and lava rocks, thrilling water slides, an interactive play area and 4 whirlpool spas, 2 of which are placed to capture perfectly the Hawaiian sunset! There are water sports in abundance on the beach as well as your own private snorkelling lagoon – Rainbow Reef – offering you close encounters with Angel Fish, Butterfly Fish, Tangs and many, many more. Aunty’s Beach House is a uniquely themed kids’ club with a whole range of exciting activities including traditional wildlife and nature excursions, Hawaiian games, video games, arts and crafts and, of course, Disney movies galore! Whilst younger members of the family are busy, treat yourself to a spa visit, soaking up the serene atmosphere that prevails and waving any lingering cares goodbye. There’s also a state-of-the-art health club with cardio equipment to keep you trim, yoga and tai chi classes. Four restaurants incorporate a fusion of flavours from round the world, using the finest local ingredients to tantalise your taste buds. This trip we decided to leave the son at home. Being big Disney fans we of course wanted to experience Aulani. A bit nervous at first about going without children (seeing as it’s so family forward). We LOVED IT. They have items available for when you can meet character every morning. You just have to call the character hotline. Lots of rare characters. Here are my cons first (short list): Cons - not many options when it comes to places to eat (if you are an all inclusive type traveler) - bars opened late in the day and closed early at night (if you like to have a night cap - best get some beverages at the store down the street) - drinks and dining were expensive (but that’s nothing new for Disney) -room service was WAY overpriced and the food not good That’s really it for cons Pros -great beach (get there earlier for chairs if going during busy season) - TIP - if you leave your items unattended for an hour or two they can be taken and held to open up a space for other guests. - food was good - love they they had a mini store - there is an ABC store down the street for all grocery needs (5 min walking, if that) - rental car on site! That was super amazing!!!! - rare characters to meet - great pools and amazing spas (two for adults only) - several activities for adults and kids! (Sign up ahead of time once you arrive) the ear making was my favorite. There literally were so many available activities for all ages - the lazy river was amazing! So relaxing. - rooms were HUGE and super clean. Loved having a kitchen. - cast members were THE BEST. Literally smiling and so kind every hour of the day and night. -shopping was fun and had rare items, exclusive to them Overall it’s Disney and Disney is fantastic about details and bringing you the magic Come expecting to spend a decent amount of you do not intend on cooking yourself. Make sure to have a plan once you see what activities are available and book a spot 🤗 Worth 5 stars and can’t wait to take our son back one day Read less

Gorgeous views all around this place. Great beach and pools for swimming. My kids loved their day at the kids’ club which is an impressive entertaining space. The character brunch was awesome and I have been craving their guava puffs. Lots of kids of all ages here. If I wasn’t with my kids, I’d stay next door at the Four Seasons. Truly amazing… Read more

Breakfast buffet was a huge assortment of everything you could possibly desire. Loved the kids entertainment room where you can checkout movies every night, play games, and take classes. My kids and I took a class to learn how to play the ukulele. We made leis, tie die shirts, and did a treasure hunt around the resort. The pools were a lot of fun for the kids. The sunsets on the beach are something you don’t want to miss. Possibly the most breathtaking sunset we experienced in a while. Read less

Great place to take the kids. Free kids club and great pools. Lazy river, water slides and splash playground. Get the refillable mug when you first get there to get your money’s worth. There’s a diving pool for snorkeling with fish but we were told the water was pretty cold so we didn’t pay extra for that. Lots of scheduled activities and… Read more
