What’s really cool about downtown Honolulu, are the Oahu ambassadors, Who wear light green uniforms. One woman in particular was very helpful. The shopkeeper’s and street sweepers Can be very helpful with walking directions for the jet-lagged tourist. I desperately needed updated beach wear, and Ross Dress for Less was the place. I found a perfect bathing suit, beach sandals, And Hawaiian suntan lotion For me. I saw lots of luxury stores. Didn’t find the time or energy for those! Waikiki beach was the first place for me to get to. Good thing I brought my beach blanket; lounge chair rentals start at $20 an hour. Read less

While this hotel is a bit dated and perhaps not the "Marriott quality" some might expect, the customer service more than makes up for it. I've been coming here for the last 6 years for business and don't think twice when booking. The location is by far the best with ZERO resort fees. A HUGE shout out to Larissa, the hotel manager, who goes above and beyond for her customers. Greeting me by my first name with a smile and always asking if I need anything after a 10 hour day is something you don't find in most service jobs these days. My loyalty remains; I'll be 2x/year. Thank you! Read less

This hotel is in the heart of downtown. It is not the same Marriott quality represented by the hotel brand. The hotel is dated, even though they have attempted to renovated it at some point. The rooms are super small. I'm not sure if the bed was a true queen size. The bathroom and shower is very small and dated. There is no where in the room to… Read more

The rooms are super small. I'm not sure if the bed was a true queen size. The bathroom and shower is very small and dated. There is no where in the room to store your luggage, and you will likely be stepping over it to get to the bed. The doors have been painted over to maintain an updated appearance. It just was not the Marriott quality we are used to. I'm not sure this one should be under the Marriott brand. Also, you will hear the street noise. We were on he 14th floor and clearly heard the trash truck. Read less

We started our Hawaii trip with three nights at the Courtyard Waikiki and it definitely met our needs and was in a good location for exploring O'ahu. It was by far the most reasonably priced hotel I found in Waikiki during our travel time. When we checked in we were told our room was upgraded and I'd hate to see a regular room if that was the case. It was a tiny space, with just enough space on one side of the bed for my suitcase. My husband kept his suitcase by the desk and had to step around it each time he moved around the room. The shower was probably the tiniest I've ever been in. I think the mention of an "upgrade" raised our expectations a bit. We had a mountain view and balcony that was great to watch the changing sky when the sun rose and set. The staff was friendly and the valet's very quick to retrieve the car when we needed it. One downside - when we requested new towels after two days some of the ones brought to us had stains on them. We realized just as we were showering before bed so we just used our beach towels we packed instead of calling down for replacements. I'm guessing their housekeeping staff has been downsized with COVID, but more attention to detail would be good. As a guest, be sure to check your towels before using them. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Solid, overpriced for bonvoy members.

This is a solid hotel. The rooms are a little basic for courtyard standard but this is Hawaii we are talking about. I think for that reason this hotel is usually priced… Read more

Ultimately the service here is good, the facilities are nice, and since this is the only technically non resort hotel in Waikiki you can see your bonvoy tier benefits in full. I think for that reason this hotel is usually priced fairly high, sometimes even more than luxury resorts. I am very disappointed however that the price for marriott members on the app is sometimes close to twice as high as 3rd vendor sites. Someone definitely needs to look into that and for that reason I've been staying here less and less. Read less
