Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach

Honolulu, Oahu

The hotel

Part of the Outrigger family, this is a premier hotel with well-equipped, spacious guest rooms ensuring a comfortable holiday base. The location is fantastic too, directly overlooking beautiful Waikiki Beach and just a stone's throw from shops, bars and restaurants. Even people who aren't staying here tend to wander into the lobby as it's filled with rare and historic Hawaiian artefacts, including a century-old koa canoe! The Hula Grill Waikiki is another local attraction, serving scrumptious breakfasts and romantic dinners beside the ocean. Duke's Canoe Club is also right on the beach and perfect for an evening meal. The swimming pool is beach-side.

My Husband and I had a great experience at this hotel. Friendly and very helpful staff. Beautiful location right on the beach. The Surf Instructors and staff at the Aqaulani beach services are very friendly and knowledgeable. The best place to start surfing!!

I stayed for 5 nights in this lovely hotel with my daughter and partner and 10 year old granddaughter. The staff were very helpful and friendly and able to let us have one of our rooms very early on arrival from Australia. While the hotel is an older style the decor is very lovely and Hawaiian and the rooms large and comfortable with a nook in the bathroom for clothes. For both our rooms, 212 and 215 we had good partial ocean views. While room 215 had better views without the apartments next door overlooking it, it was opposite the lift so a little noisy for short periods of time as people came and went. Being right on the beach and close to shops, the rooms were noisy in the evening for awhile despite double glazed doors. The beach and pool just perfect. This hotel was expensive at $400 US a night with a resort tax and a transiency tax and then had to pay extra for beach lounges. We were a little disappointed there was not a kids club in January and no kids activities, but loved everything else about this hotel - breakfast buffet included and was great and 2 dining options terrific. We had a wonderful time. Read less

I would say the beach was way too crowded, but this is a major city for the island. I did Pearl Harbor and the famous St. Patrick's Day celebration- supposedly the… Read more

I enjoyed my time here but prefer the quietness of the other islands. Read less

Excellent hotel/resort. I would highly recommend it. Everything that was promised, via phone, was delivered when we arrived and during our stay. While it is not an inexpensive place to stay, we got exactly what we paid for, and then some. We were more than satisfied with every aspect of our stay.
