Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach

Honolulu, Oahu

The hotel

Part of the Outrigger family, this is a premier hotel with well-equipped, spacious guest rooms ensuring a comfortable holiday base. The location is fantastic too, directly overlooking beautiful Waikiki Beach and just a stone's throw from shops, bars and restaurants. Even people who aren't staying here tend to wander into the lobby as it's filled with rare and historic Hawaiian artefacts, including a century-old koa canoe! The Hula Grill Waikiki is another local attraction, serving scrumptious breakfasts and romantic dinners beside the ocean. Duke's Canoe Club is also right on the beach and perfect for an evening meal. The swimming pool is beach-side.

Line for Dukes was long but the host stayed calm and smiling! Like the overall cleanness of the Resort but the pool water seemed dirty but I guess that's what happens when you have kids in it all day. Only feedback we have is that the walkway from the pool to the beach area really should be cleared out, there were tents lined up so it was hard to walk through. Other than that a great staycation! Outrigger has been by far the best hotel we have stayed at. The staff are very welcoming and the hotel itself is very accommodating. My daughter is always wanting to come back, and that in itself, is why we always come back. Thank you for such great customer service and aloha spirit.

The hotel service from valet, bellman and front desk is excellent. Friendly locals welcome you wholeheartedly (been there when busy and still the same service). Food at the voyager club (takeout) is not only delicious but prices were moderate. The squash tacos and burgers were yummy. The smoothie shack was also great, their smoothies and bowls delish too! As for now the beach is without crowds, YET honu (turtles) float casually, and the fish are swimming happily amongst those in the water! If you’re able to visit, I’d go now😊! Read less

Having never been to Hawaii I wanted to stay at a well known property on a famous beach. Was very disappointed. This hotel needs a face lift and updating. It has an 80's feel. The pool area is very small and the beach is very crowded. Very over priced for what you get. We arrived in Hawaii on our way home from Singapore where we stayed at the Marina Bay Sands which was an awesome experience. We ate at Duke's once for dinner. It was okay but again very crowded. I would suggest heading over to the mall across the street where there are several nice and relaxing restaurants. Read less
