Waikiki Resort Hotel

Honolulu, Oahu

The hotel

One of Waikiki’s favourite hotels, it’s located just a stone’s throw from the beach and within easy walking distance of the resorts myriad shops, bars and restaurants. It’s a very comfortable retreat with spacious rooms to relax in and a good range of mod cons. On the second floor is an L-shaped swimming pool with furnished sundeck – perfect for catching those rays in-between sightseeing. There’s also a mini spa for pampering and a 24-hour fitness centre just across the road should you feel the need to pound that treadmill! Seoul Jung is the hotel’s signature restaurant, serving delicious Korean dishes created by master chefs. Ilima Cafe is the place to go if you feel in need of an American classic such as Caesar Salad or New York Steak Sandwich. The latter also serves a variety of Japanese dishes so, in the food department, you’re spoilt for choice! With its warm, friendly atmosphere and proximity to all local attractions, this is a great choice for families and couples to enjoy an Hawaiian holiday in the sun.

We spent 4 nights here and enjoyed our stay. Staff are friendly and helpful, but it’s very much 3 star accommodation. We are a family of four and found the rooms a little on the small side for 2 adults, a 14 year old and an 11 year old. The pool area is basic with a not so appealing view. In saying that though, the location is great, so close to the beach and restaurants. This is the first time we’ve stayed in this part of Waikiki and much prefer the Lewers Street end. Found it less family friendly with constant sirens and more homeless people around the area. The hotel is very clean and tidy and has lots to offer. Read less

Our first visit to Hawaii, we wanted to be close to Waikiki beach and this hotel offered just that. Just one block back it was quiet and very convenient to the pick up drop off points for so many of the tours. We stayed here for a week in May. Price is fair and location is great. When you are budgeting, you got to look at the resort fee and parking fee if you are renting a car. This is the best one we found for the location. We found this to be the best. The hotel is a little old but it is well kept. The location is close to the beach. You can… Read more

Just returned from 4 days at The Waikiki Resort Hotel with my husband.I booked direct with the hotel.I asked for a corner delux ocean view room on a high floor and got exactly that.We had room 1618.We werent near the lifts.I think numbers ending in 12-18 are across the front.Because we booked direct we recieved breakfast each morning. It consisted of 2 cereal choices fruits yogurts and your usual bacon eggs sausages french toast and pancakes.Basic but a good start to the day.The service at breakfast was very good. Arriving from Australia at 7am we didnt expect our room to be ready but they stored our bags and said they would call us when it was ready. They called at 2pm which was an hour earlier than the 3pm check in time.Check in from June was quick pleasant and efficient. The internet pictures are correct. The room was quite spacious and very clean. It was always made up each day when we had returned form the beach to a high standard. The king bed and pillows were very comfy. There was a mini kitchen with utensils for 2 and the bathroom had really nice toiletries provided each day.Plenty of storage. The view was what I would consider ocean. The hotel looks between 2 others but it was nice a nice view on the verandah.Obviously the higher the better.I had no problem with noise from neighbours. I didnt use the pool as the beach was so close. A great location 1 street from the beach and a great price.I would rate it 3.5 stars and would recommend it.Thanks for having us. Read less
