Basecamp Hotel

Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

The hotel

Effortlessly cool, Basecamp’s a playful take on a ski lodge, with its industrial fittings, dark colour scheme, reclaimed wood detailing, and oversized leather sofas adding a modern twist worthy of any interior design show. Social spaces include The Barn, hosting complimentary breakfasts, which opens onto the Beer Garden, where picnic tables and Adirondack chairs are the setting for craft brews, gourmet hot chocolate, games of ‘cornhole’, s’mores around the fire pits, complimentary WiFi, and seasonal communal dinners like chilli and fondue. Then there’s the Spa Deck, with its 16 seater hot tub featuring mountain views. As a ‘basecamp’, it’s geared up for winter and summer recreation – with free parking, a private beach, bike and ski kit storage, and a spot 4 minutes from Heavenly Mountain Gondola and 10 minutes from Lakeside Beach and Marina.

The hotel was and staff were great. Definitely a great kickback spot and loved the hot tubs. The only discrepancy I had was the AC was out while we stayed and it got very hot in the room making it difficult to sleep comfortably. I understand that things like this happen so Im not really too upset about it. Will still consider this hotel again as I… Read more

We spent 1 night in a room with a balcony and 2 full beds. Our view looked out over the side road. We were on the second floor with no rooms above us. It was a hot night and we were thankful for the overhead fan and the standing fan provided. The furnishings are wonderful, very mountain themed. The room was very clean, the bed super comfortable, there was coffee and tea in the room as well as a fridge and a good HD TV. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate is provided in the lobby, 24/7. The room was also very quiet, great insulation. All the staff we came in contact with, were friendly and helpful. The beer garden is so much fun, lots of things to do, people to meet and music from 6pm-10pm every evening.....(in the summer). There are firepits throughout the property where you can even make s'mores. Breakfast was included and served in the bar area, hot and cold food, plenty to choose from. Very tasty. We had a great time, and hope to return. Read less

The room was nice and clean. The parking was limited with some tight spots. Overall great place and walking distance from heavenly. The seating area is beautiful in the night. Breakfast was ok, not a lot of options

For price paid, no air conditioning, noisy, not very clean, no parking, had to park across the street twice, nothing to make up for all the issues, except saying we could go somewhere else on the busiest weekend of the year in Tahoe...I will not be recommending this place to anyone.

I've been staying at Basecamp for years, and they just get better, and better. My wife & I barely even left the property simply, because the environment was all we wanted. The biergarten was awesome, live music everyday, 10+ beers on tap, cornhole, ping pong, hot tub, bistro lights, etc. Love the place, and you will too!
