Hotel Becket

Heavenly, Lake Tahoe

The hotel

Part boutique hotel, part ‘upcycled’ lodge, 968 Park Hotel’s every bit as rustic as it is luxurious. Handmade furniture fills the guestrooms – some made from Douglas fir rescued from an old Nevada mine. Your bedding’s anything but homespun though, with luxury mattresses and organic linens helping ease muscles tired from winter sports like skiing and snowshoeing, or from laps of the heated pool in summer. You get complimentary parking (and WiFi), but it’s just minutes’ walk from Lake Tahoe’s biggest draws: Heavenly Mountain Gondola, the Stateline casinos, and the shoreline. Whatever time you return, the CoffeePub will be open, with craft coffees or microbrews served 24-hours a day; but make sure you’re back in time for Friday night’s wine tastings with local vintners, followed by live acoustic music sessions.

We had to park by the street and haul our luggage in the dark icy road to find our room. -Ah yes the infamous shower: is it still moldy and old? yes. Does it feel like you're reincarnating between hell and the ice queen's private boudoir while trying to find a nice temperature to shower? Yes. Did we find towels in our room? No. -Also they have a nice wake up service, around 6am where the upstairs neighbor would promptly wake you up by handling and dropping luggage to the ground ensuring a nice "thud" to wake you up multiple times until 8am. -Oh and don't forget the customary house keeping lady attempting to barge in without much forewarning. At least she apologized. :) Read less

only downfall it’s very noisy in hallways early mornings due to old doors/windows.. perfect location to ALL: Restaurants, shopping, casinos, beach... Bbq place on premise, parking fills up fast. Worth a try!

Room is too noisy, there was no parking space available so I had to park in the street and walk back to the hotel, the water temperature was fluctuating while taking shower, the shower itself was too small, breakfast was terrible, the bed was noisy and wasn’t comfortable.

Lack of proper maintenance in room. Damage to walls in room that are not kept up. Any repairs in room were poorly done and not finished or not touched. Key card stopped working next day, other people having same issue. Got locked out of room and building due to this. Location is very central to the village, shopping, grocery and restaurants. Walking distance to the gondola for skiing. The bathroom shower had more cold water than hot and it constantly dripped water. My biggest complaint is the shower. But I would stay here again and hope that the hotel is able to fix their lack of hot water on busy “no vacancy”… Read more
