Golden Nugget Las Vegas

Downtown, Las Vegas

The hotel

Boasting some of Las Vegas’ finest rooms and suites after a $380 million dollar transformation, it’s easy to understand why. The accommodation is divided between four majestic towers with wonderful views of the Las Vegas Strip, the Spring Mountains and the hotel’s incredible pool. Then there's the Tank, as the swimming complex is known, comes complete with a shark tank, 3-storey waterslide and 13 private cabanas for hire. There’s also an infinity pool, aptly named The Hideout, which is strictly for adults only. Other temptations include a superb spa with steam rooms, sauna, massage and beauty treatments plus a state-of-the-art fitness centre to work off those American-sized portions! Several restaurants are at your disposal, including Vic and Anthony’s, one of the country’s finest steakhouses. Alternatively, head to Chart House for sumptuous seafood, Lillie’s for Pan-Asian cuisine or Grotto for Italian fare. Come sundown, Troy Liquor Bar is the place to be with a lively atmosphere, DJs and exotic cocktails. An incredible hotel with an incredible range of amenities, look out in particular for the Hand of Faith in the lobby - a 61-pound gold nugget found in Australia in 1980 with a metal detector just six inches below ground – now that’s Lady Luck at her finest!

Image of the Tripadvisor rating The room was fine but missing so many amenities to justify the $35 a day fee.

Our room was 1419 in Gold Tower. I liked the hotel location and I liked the two bed set up BUT so many things are missing to justify paying an extra $35 a day amenity fee!!No fridge in room if you can imagine that? No coffee maker in room. They charge $10 a day to rent a Keurig coffee maker plus $8 for for 4 coffee pods with sugar and creamer set… Read more
Our room was 1419 in Gold Tower. I liked the hotel location and I liked the two bed set up BUT so many things are missing to justify paying an extra $35 a day amenity fee!!No fridge in room if you can imagine that? No coffee maker in room. They charge $10 a day to rent a Keurig coffee maker plus $8 for for 4 coffee pods with sugar and creamer set up. Gym closes at 3:00 pm if you can even imagine that!!No fridge in the room . Pool closes at 6:00 which is not too bad as the hotel clients are tattoo clad NOT using very hygienic practices. I picked up perhaps four bar condiments out of the pool and they let people drink in the pool. Pool is surrounded by an aquarium with fish that look profoundly unhappy!! One of the tiger sharks looked like its teeth were severely damaged . Golden Nugget take that poor shark to the shark dentist!! You have to pay an extra charge to access the Golden Nugget infinity pool after the $35 you pay as there ridiculous resort fee. My room was $48 a night and the resort fee was an extra $35 a night that essentially makes the room cost an additional 70%!! I got a great rate but to be honest with no housekeeping services. No liner for the trash can, and rust stains at the base of the shower fixtures this place needs to be upgraded!! These rooms need a fridge. Stayed four nights and over a weekend but this room with service included is not worth more than $65-$80 a night total!! With the down time from Covid they should have gotten in the rooms and upgraded and fine tuned the rooms! Would I stay here again? No I would not!! I expect a coffee maker a fridge a gym with normal hours for around $89 a night. By the way this hotel has no premium TV channels!! I am not unhappy but not happy either. Golden Nugget needs to up their game in my opinion. I stay in hotels over a 100 nights a year and this hotel is NOT par with normal four star hotels! another thing is the hotel checkin process does not start till 11:00 am if you can imagine that so if they had rooms from the night before and you took a 12 hour flight you would have to wait to get a room!! NEVER seen that anywhere! This hotels has some flaws that should have been fixed during the rime the hotel was closed down!By the way the fish in the aquarium were not colorful and look like they came from California and are all basically gray!! We stayed at the Golden Nugget June 20-22. Our room was very nice with a great view (see pics) we stayed in the Rush tower so more upgraded. Gambling was fun but didn't win much. Large variety of games. The pool is great but was just too hot to go (122 degrees). No housekeeping right now due to Covid but we managed for 2 days. I was very easy… Read more

I was very easy to get an Uber and only took 6 minutes and easy to find the pickup location. I recommended the Nugget if staying downtown. Read less

I made a reservation on the hotels website in April. I thought it was wierd I didn't get a confirmation email, but I had a sceen shot of my reservation and confirmation number. Even so I called the day after, they told me their system was resetting and I'd get a confirmation later. Last Thursday night I called again, spoke to a lovely gentleman who said my reservation wasn't in their system but that a manager would contact me and we'd get it sorted, if I don't hear from them call back the next day. I wasn't available the next day and still hadn't heard back so called again on Saturday. I didn't want to rehash the entire situation yet again so asked to speak to the Thursday night manager, they weren't in yet and would be in within two hours. I asked about emailing because I wasn't going to be available in 2 hours so I sent an email with my reservation info and the lead up to there. I call again on Sunday and again they want me to rehash the entire situation and when just ask to have them manager contact me, I'm losing hope at this point. I also email again. On Monday I try Facebook messenger, who also says they'll get my info to a manager. On Tuesday still no update and I email and Facebook message again. If my friends weren't staying at the Golden Nugget I wouldn't even bother, at this point I'm encouraging them to look elsewhere. I get that times are weird but never in my life have I had so much difficulty booking a reservation and confirming it. I'd call it a wash but I can't rebook the room on the website since no more double beds are available. I was excited to stay downtown but may have to look back at the strip. Read less

The room smells like an old party, wallpaper peeling off the walls, disgusting old sticky tape on the desk, 1 (yes I said 1) bell-hop for the entire hotel (30 min wait!!!), and The Worst customer service EVER! Brianna was completely in apologetic and could not care one bit!! Avoid this place at all cost!

First I want to say I am extremely happy to see Vegas up and running and hoping the best for your city!!! my visit to the Nugget was June 7th - 11th. Knowing ahead of time that things would be different from what we were used to, we took on a "new adventure" attitude. We arrived at 8:30 AM. Check in took about 10 minutes and they do take your temp at the reservation desk. My room was not ready which I have no qualms about since check in time is 3:PM. OK will just check my bag and go have some fun. Nope, they had no bell service to store my luggage. But, again I understand, don't like it but until things get up and running like the well oiled machine it once was I will have to endure the inconvenience of dragging my luggage. I was notified about 3 hours later that my room was ready. Yeah!!!! My room was a pool view. Loved it!!! The pool was beautiful as usual. Chaise lounges were spaced and only hotel quests permitted. We ate at Claim Jumper. Great food! Throughout the casino they have hand sanitizing stations which is super great. Table games have 3 people to a table and the dealers wear a mask. Poker room is open. Some slot machines have been blocked so you are not able to play them because of "social distancing" but there are plenty other slots to from. My attitude was to make the best of an unknown situation and was thankful that the hotel/casino was open!!! best of luck Golden Nugget, make a great comeback!!! Read less
