Delano

Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

One of the newer kids on the block, The Delano brings its unique magic – a luxury boutique vibe with a playful side – from its Art Deco namesake on the sunny shores of Miami, to Las Vegas. The result is effortless style for those who like the finer things in life. The suites in this all-suite tower are the largest in Vegas, and at 43 stories high, The Delano offers some truly remarkable views over The Strip, not least from the rooftop Skyfall Lounge. Achingly cool interiors, timelessly elegant bars and a clientele to match make people-watching all part of the Delano experience. Add that to the daytime delights of a beach club, health spa, and the bonus that you are located within the equally impressive Mandalay Bay Resort complex, and you really have hit the Vegas resort jackpot.

This is a great hotel if you are planning to just stay in the room. It shares everything with Mandalay Bay which is really a good and bad. The room: it is a nice room. You get a whole lot of space for what you pay. If you want, you can consider getting a more mates in the room and split the cost and still sleep in comfort. However, not even being able to get a hot water kettle or use the little fridge space (you can maybe fit a loaf of bread) without paying $50/night is HARSH. Keep in mind of the location (which I will later talk about), this is really 'unkind' to people that is planning to stay a good chunk of their time in the hotel. I can understand people in Vegas doesnt want to stay in the hotel room, but Delano's location is so far from everything, it is really meant for people that want to have a bit of privacy but still want to go hit up the strip maybe not as much as the ppl that are on staying on the strip. Delano, here's a tip for you, if you want more ppl to stay at Delano, you need to sell it as it is, a suite where ppl can comfortably stay like Vdara and not get nickle and dime to death with these pesky surcharge to just using the fridge and getting a hot water kettle. Staff: Nothing bad for me to say, top notch staff, makes me feel respected and that they try their best to accommodate my needs. Pool: Why the heck is the pool so far???? Makes me not want to go there. As a Delano guest, I have to walk thru the casino in my swimming wear? And walk back in my my towel? As the 'five star' guests, I feel the 'four star' guests can enjoy the pool waaaay more than me because their elevator goes straight to the pool. The Delano only beach area is a nice idea if it is strictly Delano guests! I see kids there! Come on, I thought this is an adult only area. The security needs to game up and kick ppl out. Location: The location of this hotel is so far from the strip, it is really hard for me to enjoy the strip. If I get tired from the strip in the mid day, it is a pain for me to get back to my room to 'recharge'. And as I said before, it is not stay-in friendly due to no fridge and hot water access, but I guess if you really baller, you can order room service. The location of the hotel to pool is bad. There are so little food options for Delano guests. Skyfall Lounge: pretty nice that I can go there, but the party is at foundation room, so it is a nice place to sit and chat. However, no one checks my 'Delano' card, so anyone can go in. Read less

My room smelled like pet urine, you don't even get a shelf in the refrigerator to use, the elevators are very temperamental, the vending machine on the seventh floor is cash only. The bed was hard, the sheets are rough, the staff seem very tired, and the room (a queen suite) is generally bland looking. The huge bath tub was great but that doesn't make up for anything. This hotel needs to get back to being in the business of hospitality in stead of trying to squeeze as much money out of guests as possible. Serious style over substance problem. Read less

Was not happy at all with this resort. Everything was very expensive overpriced. Not even a free water or coffee was offered at the hotel. Valet parking was expensive and the to get your car back was soo long.

I was in town for a convention with a key business partner that was hosting a user conference for partners and key clients. This was my first stay at the hotel although I have been there before for the One show. I found the hotel easy to navigate, exceptionally clean and offering plenty of great food options. I enjoyed my stay quite a bit.
