MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

In a city of fabulous excess where big is always beautiful, the 5,000-room MGM Grand takes the XXL biscuit. The world’s second largest hotel features a 6.5-acre Grand Pool Complex containing four swimming pools, three whirlpools, Vegas’ longest lazy river, and waterfalls. The Wet Republic Ultra Pool holds seasonal pool parties too. And that’s just for starters, as the MGM Grand hosts huge sporting events, top shows such as Ka by Cirque du Soleil, Virtual Reality and famous performers such as David Copperfield. On top of that, Hakkasan regularly hosts DJs Steve Aoki and Lil Jon. Peckish after all that? Then take your pick from a mouth-watering range of restaurants that satisfy pretty much any mood and taste you can imagine.

Only negative thing I can say is that salespeople were aggressively trying to persuade everyone to buy skincare products. They offer tiny free gifts, then tell you 60 seconds, then they sit you down and aggressively attempt to sell their products. It's uncomfortable. Every time you pass by one of the many stores, they yell at you and do not take "no, thank you" as an answer. If I avoid this hotel in the future, it will be for this reason. I travelled the same path from my room to the conference room daily. All other features of the hotel were amazingly great. Read less

It was the most average stay. I think it’s just Vegas that I don’t like. Nothing was spectacular at the MGM but it was acceptable.

The maids were SO very loud in the hallways at 7:30-8am. We stayed Mon-Thurs and usually it's not very crowded but this time there were so many people. The pool area is usually our favorite that's why we stay at the MGM Grand. But we found it to be dirty. Trash everywhere, the women's bathroom was trashed and out of toilet paper right after the pool opened. Not sure that we will be staying there again. Read less

General upkeep isn't where it used to be - declining. No hot water on Thursday morning to shower with, only tepid.

Came here for UFC 300 as all other hotels were overpriced. Everything I needed was right here and I can’t thank front desk Legna enough. She really knows how to start a guests trip the right way with her positive attitude and patience. Thank you Legna!!!
