My wife and I, and our two long-time friends, all of whom have travelled extensively and have stayed in a multitude of different hotels throughout the World, had three nights here prior to continuing our journey to Los Angeles, and it wasn't too bad an experience, but we also stayed in another two hotels as we made our way West and they were so much better than the Sahara. There were a couple of issues that preclude me from giving this hotel full marks. The first issue was on our arrival, in that there was an eight person deep queue at Reception waiting to book in (this queue was almost thirty deep by the time we were served), with only three receptionists on duty. Now in my mind it shouldn't have taken long for us to get to the front of this queue and book in, but unfortunately not in this hotel. It took almost forty-five minutes to get served. Now here's a thing; most people in that queue will have had long journeys, and will just want to get their key card to get into their room, but this point seems to be totally lost on the Sahara's management. Take for instance ourselves; we had a two hour drive to our departure airport, a four and a half hour wait hanging around in the airport, twenty minutes to get through security, half an hour walk to the gate, ten hours in flight, thirty minute wait for our baggage, forty-five minute wait for our transfer and finally a half-hour transfer, so by the time we got to the hotel's reception we had been on the go for over nineteen hours, so to be standing around waiting for the inefficient system that this hotel has to book guests in was purgatory. We saw many hotel's receptions whilst exploring the Strip, and none had the queues we saw in the Sahara in the three days we stayed there. Also the other two hotels we stayed in whilst in America got us into our rooms within roughly ten minutes of arrival. Both were much more customer focused and intent on getting guests settled into their rooms in a timelier manner than the Sahara. I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I just thought that maybe this hotel's management could do with a few pointers on how to treat guests on their arrival. Firstly; when you have large queues waiting for the attention of the reception staff, teach your staff not to get into long conversations with guests about their travel history - the guy being served next to us, was at the desk well before us and still hadn't been booked in by the time we left for our room, mainly due to the fact that he was telling the member of staff who was booking him in all about his travels. Secondly; have guests provide all of the relevant information at the time of booking - why oh why did we have to write our full address, email address and mobile number on a piece of paper for the receptionist to add it onto the system - how antiquated. Invest in an automatic booking in system – many hotels we have stayed in have such systems in this technological day and age. Finally, if you can’t install an automatic system for booking in, then ensure that you always have enough staff on Reception to deal with the amount of guests that are expected to book in – I saw long queues countless times at this hotel that I didn’t see in other hotels we visited, both on the Strip and whilst on our travels across the two States. Next was the fact that the rooms have absolutely no facilities to make hot drinks, or to boil water to make a ready meals should we want to do this. Both the other hotels that we stayed in had coffee makers and microwaves, so this hotel fell down quite badly in this respect. To me to supply some way of making hot water is a basic amenity that all hotels should make available within the room. The suggestion we got from Reception was to go to the Starbucks in the hotel lobby with an insulated container to get hot water. What sort of solution was that? First of all our room was a long way away from the café and also when I want my first cup of coffee when I waken up in the morning I don’t want to be throwing clothes on to walk a considerable way down to the lobby and back for hot water. The room itself was large and comfortable, with everything else we required for our stay, but so were the other two rooms in the other two hotels we resided in as we crossed to Los Angeles, and as stated they also had the means for us to make hot drinks and ready meals. To summarise; I wouldn’t choose this hotel to stay in if we ever visited Las Vegas again. It was the worst experience of the three hotels that we stayed in – the other hotels made us feel like valued guests, whereas this hotel never struck us as particularly interested in its guests’ happiness. Good room, friendly and professional staff, clean quiet and comfortable. Good location. Wife both kids and I had a great vacation. From check in to check out all was good. We came here for our 12 year anniversary and was disappointed more than impressed. -The hotel lobby and common areas are beautiful. Check-in was a hot mess so be ready for a long wait (no check-in kiosks). Person who checked me in was very nice. -High resort fees which they say provide access to parking and things like the pool - which I find funny as the parking is free to anyone (no ticketing system or attendant - I never saw security either) and the pool was closed. -We stayed in the Marra room. The room itself was very pretty, the lighted mirrors were a nice touch. HOWEVER.. --when we first arrived we found the room had no soaps, shampoo, conditioner or lotion. I texted guest services (which admittedly is a nice option instead of calling) and they brought me some soap fairly quickly. --After we got the soap the bathroom was going to be used. But we found the bathroom "door" was just a sliding mirror. Cute, but it sacrifices function for looks. When we tried to close this "door" we found it left a HUGE gap on either side of the door frame - meaning you can see right inside. We called down to guest services who had a couple of engineers up to adjust the "door". They fixed the "door" to reduce the gap, but given the type and style of the bathroom "door" there will always be a gap. There is no way to lock the "door" or seal it (meaning every sound and smell is definitely making it's way into the room).. providing the same privacy as a curtain. 🥴 Big mood killer! 😅 -After the maintenance guys left I turned on the TV and went to lay on the bed. --The TV is insanely dark and you have no options to adjust it. The TV channels are limited, you are unable to rent movies or use a streaming service. Also, the TV utilizes the WiFi and would disconnect for LONG periods of time. So if you wanted to use it as mask the loud bathroom sounds tough luck. 🤣 I ended up using my phone to watch things instead of the TV. -- While laying on the bed for the first time, I found orange dried spots on the "clean" comforter. Looked like dried food. We had only been in the room for less than an hour and never ate in the room. By this point I was over contacting guest services. So we just used the sheet and spent our time out of the hotel as much as we could. Since there is easy access to the monorail it wasn't hard to avoid being in the hotel. In short this was a lackluster experience. I wish I would have spent a little bit more to stay somewhere that was more thoughtful in their execution. I doubt we'll be back. Read less

We were told the rest of us could sleep on the sofa, or get cots, so we got cots which were fine, but they didn't bring any blankets. It was literally a struggle to get anything at this place. Towels, blankets, toilet paper. Things that should have been left by housekeeping. The toilet continuously sprayed water on the floor and had a really annoying sound. Despite being a non smoking room, it constantly smelled like cigarettes and weed, and I was congested beyond belief the whole time. The radio didn't work (until it did randomly in the middle of the night), and the side table USB port was broken (yes it was plugged in, and yes the power switch was on). One light didn't work at all, and there was an annoying sound coming from somewhere outside the window. The only positive was that the staff were nice. I feel like this was a poorly managed hotel with staff that couldn't meet the demands no matter how hard they tried. The staff and Magic Mike shows are the reasons for the hotel getting any stars at all. Everything else about it was disappointing. Just do yourself a favor and stay away. Read less
