For my partner’s 30th birthday I treated him to a week in Vegas staying at the Stratosphere. As soon as you walk in, old man bar smell and cigarette smoke hits you in the face. Check in took forever. When we got to the desk we paid $60 for an upgraded room on a smoking floor. We thought that having ecigs we would have to be on the smoking floor. We could have used the ecigs in non smoking rooms as the fire alarms are not overly sensitive. This angered me as our room was disgusting it smelled like an ashtray and I had to keep all of our clothes inside suitcases so that they wouldn’t be saturated with the smell of smoke. Eugh. The room was nice but housekeeping could be up to a better standard as the mirrors were streaky, drawers dusty and bathroom floor needed mopped. However it was an okay room to get your head down. The Stratosphere is far out from the strip. In order to get backwards and forwards to popular shows and activities we utilised the monorail which was located a ten minute walk from the Stratosphere and was based inside SLS Hotel, we got week long passes and this was way cheaper than getting taxis all the time. Additionally, the Stratosohere is in a poor area which at times did not feel safe to walk about in at night time, I kept hold of my handbag as soon as we got out of SLS on the walk to the Stratosphere. Uncomfortable, unsettling and did not feel safe until inside the Stratosphere. We didn’t really use anything in the hotel apart from our room to sleep in. The stratosphere lacks glitz and glam. It’s not fancy and is in dire need of a refurb. Staff were very friendly and welcoming which is a shame because they work hard in a place that reaaaaaaaally needs upgrading and better ventilation so get rid of the smoke smell. Other hotels had smokers with cigars inside and they didn’t smell half as bad. All in all a great trio but will be carrying on past the Stratosphere next time in favour for something a little more upmarket. Read less

The room we viewed online wasn't the room we were offered, after speaking with the front desk mgr, we were offered an upgraded room in another tower but it cost us $70.00 for a partially renovated room. The property has a lot to offer with the casino and mall and of course the thrill rides and sky lounge view, which is spectacular! If you take sky lounge elevator, stop on observation deck floor for a wonderful view of the city. This property is about 2.5 miles from the heart of the strip. Read less

Upon check in the gentleman was pilot and offered us an upgrade for $15 dollars per night. We declined. The guest service agent stated the room was not ready due to we requested a smoking room. We check our bags and then went to grab a bite to eat. We received a text stating our room was ready about 30 minutes later. My husband and I then went back to the Resort to finish checking in. The gentleman was again pilot my only issue is he did not give us any information on the Resort we had to ask about what discounts the Resot fees cover and were the pool were and hours of operation. Once we got to the room it was nothing like pictured on Expedia. The bed had stains on the sheets beds are very uncomfortable.yes we requested a smoking room but the funiture had cigarette burns all over it. My husband and I called twice to make sure the room we booked had a refrigerator in it as well they said yes. The room was very dated. I then called down to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager. The guest service agent stated the manager is assistanting another guest at this time can we give you a call back. About 15 minutes go by we decided to just walk down to the front desk. The guest service agent asked what she could help us with. I explained it to her and she stated we can upgrade you for free let me get my manager. We thought she could have been more friendly. She got the manager and she assisted us and had a refrigerator brought to our new room. The new room is still disappointing as it look like a sloppy remodeling job. Still not like pictured. Then today our second day here housekeeping came only thing they did was make the bed and put clean towels. The bathroom needed the toilet and shower wiped down. On the housekeeping side the rooms could be cleaner. Very disappointed. Hopefully things will get better as my husband and I still have six more nights here. Read less

We stayed 8 nights. Rooms are nice. We had to pay extra 10$/night to have a little refrigerator in our room. The hallways weren’t very clean nor the stairways. But in general we had a nice stay. It’s on the Strip but just at the beginnig of Old Las Vegas.
