The LINQ Hotel & Casino

Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

Well-connected, the name lets slip the hotel’s ‘link’ to extra food, fun and frivolity. The guestrooms are hip and high-tech, but you won’t be there much with the LINQ’s endless diversions. The centrepiece is the High Roller – the world’s tallest observation wheel, at 550-ft high it takes 30 minutes to do the full loop. You’re also ‘linked’ to an exclusive shopping, entertainment and dining promenade. And, of course, the all-essential Vegas casino. Over 21s can enjoy the pool, with nightly swims twice a week, Champagne Sundays and pool deck misting. Then there are the other decadences: the Brooklyn Bowl, a massive bowling and live music venue, and endless dining and drinking establishments, including 24-hour Hash House A Go Go, whose colossal portions featured on ‘Man v Food’.

Our stay here was pleasant. The only downfall was that the room had a strong tobacco odor. Overall, we had a good experience. The location is right on the strip which makes it easy and convenience to walk around.

On arrival at the linq hotel I was asked for a credit card, I do not travel with a credit card, nor was I told by my tour operate that I needed one.We are currently here celebrating my mother’s 60th birthday after months of gruelling chemotherapy and her receiving the all clear from beating cancer. So our trip in Vegas is a special one, with a double celebration. The customer service we received from a member of staff on reception named Jenna was disgusting, the rude attitude was Awful and I was made to feel like a child because I didn’t have a credit card. She even told me never travel To America in future without on, this is my 4th time to America and it hasn’t been a issue before! I explained that I did not have a card and that I was fully aware of paying room/urban tax. I’ve also been made aware that these taxes cover things such as WiFi. After 40 minutes it was decided that we could in fact stay on a cash deposit but our privileges were taken away from us. Both myself and my mother have been made to feel like children, not allowing us to receive our privileges and had a horrible start to our holiday. We were also not provided with the offers that we could hear other guest receiving and under no circumstances were we having our privileges, however I was under the impressed these privileges were paid for by the resort fees/room tax. Once arrived in the room I received a phone call asking to come and collect the cash deposit as they were not allowed to hold the cash. I was tired and cross after a long day of travelling and said I would go to reception in the morning, I would told I needed to Go there immediately. I understand and appreciate the hotel let us check in without a credit card going on file, and I thank them for that. however I was not told to bring a credit card and the room had been paid for upfront. I checked with my tour operate that I could pay with cash and I was informed yes. I would avoid this hotel like the plague, it has ruined the start of our hotel and I can’t wait to leave already.
