The LINQ Hotel + Experience

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Well-connected, the name lets slip the hotel’s ‘link’ to extra food, fun and frivolity. The guestrooms are hip and high-tech, but you won’t be there much with the LINQ’s endless diversions. The centrepiece is the High Roller – the world’s tallest observation wheel, at 550-ft high it takes 30 minutes to do the full loop. You’re also ‘linked’ to an exclusive shopping, entertainment and dining promenade. And, of course, the all-essential Vegas casino. Over 21s can enjoy the pool, with nightly swims twice a week, Champagne Sundays and pool deck misting. Then there are the other decadences: the Brooklyn Bowl, a massive bowling and live music venue, and endless dining and drinking establishments, including 24-hour Hash House A Go Go, whose colossal portions featured on ‘Man v Food’.

The Linq is a less expensive, perfectly situated hotel in the centre of the strip. You walk right out onto the relatively new promenade that accesses good bars, shops, and Kimmel’s. The regular rooms are smaller than, say Paris or Bally’s but clean. I really liked to pool. It’s smaller than other massive LV pools with consistently pounding bass and hundreds of college types spilling drinks into the water, like the Flamingo pool. Overall, Linq was clean, very cheap and a pleasant surprise. Read less

I had and issue with a bathroom light. It took them til the last to actually change a light bulb. I guess I found out how LINQ employees does it take to change a light bulb. At one point they told just hold the RESET button on the plug and that should work. Pure Laziness at work here. Rooms are cheap and outdated. All the furniture is low to the ground. Rooms to face the Promenade is very nosy. Your hear music all through the night. The ride share area is very sketchy. Not even the ride share like pick people up here. Read less

Like everyone else’s sentiment, stay away from this hotel, it’s a former shell of itself. We stayed here before and never had an issue, thats why we decided to stay here again. What a big mistake that was, we up graded our room, no extra sheets for the bunk, and when requested sheets, they were just brought to the room and dumped on the bed, couldn’t even be bothered to make the bed, no extra pillows either. The shampoo was empty in the shower, once filled we realized all it was leak in the shower, no wonder it was empty. The one thing that put us off was the left over half pepperoni stick in a wrapper sitting on the ledge. What I did like was location and beds and pillows were comfy, but that’s all I will give it. Lots of other hotels to choose from other then staying here, and we will looking and doing our research when we visit next time. Read less

Room not clean. Contacted Linq was told housekeeping would come to rectify. Housekeeping was a no show. The next morning I said forget housekeeping and that we had wipe down the room…all touch points. We usually travel with Clorox wipes but never expected to left the type of dirt that we did on this visit to the Linq. Shower curtain hem was nasty.… Read more

I could not have had a WORSE experience at the Linq. Mangement (Kit and Juanita in particular should be completley ASHAMED of themselves, the lack of compassion and disrespect they showed me was incredibly DISGUSTING and down right inhumane) Booked with Booking.com, confirmed with booking.com, After a 4AM start and 12 hour flight I go to check in and was told by the "staff" (Dororthey, should ALSO be reprimanded for her crappy "customer service") Waited for close to 45 minutes to check in with my father, who went before me and was asked if he wanted to upgrade his booking for additional costs, and then when I tried to check in minutes later only to be told the booking was cancelled with Booking.com, although the booking was still very much confirmed with Booking.com who advised they had in fact not cancelled the booking (I have this confirmed in wrtiting from booking.com), it was the Linq that cancelled the booking, even though Juanita, Kit and Dorothey told me, aggressively, it was in fact Booking.com who cancelled and was told they had sold out, even though Dorothey minutes before had tried to upsell my father. Bookings were still available on Trivago, even when i showed this to Juanita she told me there was nothing they could do to help me, this is when she called in her "manager' Kit who was incredibly rude and agressive, and offered absolutely no help, and when I became upset walked off and told me to leave. Without trying to help a single bit I was literally left homeless (at 8pm after attempting to check in at 4pm) This left me in a really difficult situation and left me out of pocket over $1000.00 AUD due to their incompetence and lies. My parents were not over happy with the hotel itself (I was fortunate/unfortunate not to experience the "amenities" at the "hotel" but was advised the hotel itself felt, dark, dingey, tired and unkept. There is literally a running stream of sewage water through the garage. Do yourself a favour, stay somewhere more reputable like Treasure Island who actually made my stay in Vegas nice. Seriously, Kit, Juanita and Dorothey need some SERIOUS training in empathy and customer service. Completely disgusting! Read less
