The LINQ Hotel & Casino

Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

Well-connected, the name lets slip the hotel’s ‘link’ to extra food, fun and frivolity. The guestrooms are hip and high-tech, but you won’t be there much with the LINQ’s endless diversions. The centrepiece is the High Roller – the world’s tallest observation wheel, at 550-ft high it takes 30 minutes to do the full loop. You’re also ‘linked’ to an exclusive shopping, entertainment and dining promenade. And, of course, the all-essential Vegas casino. Over 21s can enjoy the pool, with nightly swims twice a week, Champagne Sundays and pool deck misting. Then there are the other decadences: the Brooklyn Bowl, a massive bowling and live music venue, and endless dining and drinking establishments, including 24-hour Hash House A Go Go, whose colossal portions featured on ‘Man v Food’.

I must say this was my worst experience with a hotel in Vegas. As I got to the hotel, the sign telling you to make a left is located in the wrong spot. We ended up in a place full of construction and were told to park there. This was very far and actually not the hotel's parking lot but the one for the High Roller. We were picked up by a lady in a golf cart and she assured us it was the correct location. The line for check-in was very long despite the automated kiosks. When leaving the hotel, we must have asked 5 different employees whether we parked at the right location and if we had in and out privileges. But we didn't seem to be able to get a clear answer. The person who gave us a ride on the golf cart said we would have to pay again if we took the car out and the hotel's own employee didn't seem to have answer. Long story short, I kept having to take an Uber and wasting money because none of the hotel employees were able to tell us if we were supposed to park where we originally were told you. We parked in an uncovered area, very far from the hotel, and wasted money on car rides that we didn't have to. To make matters worse, on the day of checkout the elevators would not stop on our floor for at least 30 minutes even after I called the hotel and complained. We have to go down stair with our luggage because we had a time to make. Crazy! Read less

This hotel is a great location! Close to the hub of it all. Great restaurants like Gordon Ramsay fish and chips and Guy Fieris. Lots of outdoor patio space to choose from to people watch and have a drink. The room was funky and spacious with a mini fridge. Even though it was renovated, it did feel a bit outdated. Our floor (12th) hallway was tilted to the left and the elevators are super slow. We went down to the pool one day and was surprised how small it was. Packed with people, the water was green, not blue. I didn't see a public washroom close by. There was a small bar area with very expensive drinks. We ended up leaving because it seemed overcrowded and dirty.we found out later we could have gone to the Flamingo pool free of charge. Overall I would still recommend this hotel because the location was great! Read less

During our stay we asked if we could get our rooms cleaned multiple times and it was always a half done job or not at all. They flipped the dirty sheets we asked them to change (had to go down to the front desk and wait in line to ask for this service and still wasn’t done). Brown stains all over the pillows and sheets. Overall great value for money: a centrally located hotel and casino catering for a younger crowd. The main positives and negatives of The Linq are: Central location: you can’t fault the location on the strip; everything is within walking distance. The hotel also benefits from a monorail stop which is useful for accessing the outer casinos Gym: a modern and well equipped gym/spa is on the 6th floor Promenade: the promenade has numerous eateries and bars Price: great value for money when compared to other central strip locations Check in/out process: we used the self service machines so we were in and out within 5 mins. The queues for manual check in/out seemed to be quite long Modern decoration: our room was newly decorated and modern. It was relatively basic but included a tv, safe and fridge The Linq seems to be aimed at a younger guest. It’s busy and bustling so may not be suitable for people looking for a more ‘relaxing’ experience Resort fee: a strip locations exclude a resort fee so be prepared for this The pool: again, for the younger crowd, it was focused on music and drinks rather than a relaxing sunbathing experience The elevators: the Elevators take a long time; if possible, use the stairs (we were on the third floor so not really an inconvenience) Read less

The Linq is centrally located on the strip and is laid out perfectly. All of the recent improvements have been a real asset to the property. Definitely will be coming back soon and don't forget to eat at hash and go
